Description of Work: The Mark Group is a worldclass operation. They can take your entire home energy footprint and do a thorough analysis of your usage and provide you a comprehensive set of recommendations for saving really money on your monthly bill.

Description of Work: I had this group out to discuss insulation as I live in an old house. The gentleman who came out was very knowledgeable but informed me that they would not be able to start the work until I had certificates that my house was asbestos free and knob and tube wire free. I knew that the house did have knob and tube wiring so the meeting came to an end. I am planning on updating the wiring before I can properly insulate.

Description of Work: Energy audit and advice. I was very pleased that I wasn't pushed into buying something. I appreciated the free advice and the heat vision camera was neat! If I do need to purchase any services they offer, I will definitely give them a call first!

Description of Work: They responded very promptly and scheduled an estimate visit. Unfortunately they are into doing insulation and energy efficiencies of existing spaces, and not a new addition insulation which is what we needed. But he graciously saw our project and then told us he couldn't help us. Did not get upset that it was a wasted visit.

Description of Work: After moving into a new house in 10/11, our heating/oil bills were astronomical (more than $1000/mo!) last winter, our first. Thus, we contacted Mark Group re: suggestions for making our home more energy efficient. In Jan. 2012, we had a free energy assessment. At that point, we were overwhelmed and specifically asked for help in prioritizing projects, and where our money would best be spent. Honestly, the assessor wasn't super helpful on that front. Later, in March 2012, after we had had an energy audit (by someone else, which was TOTALLY worth the money, particularly given that audits are subsidized; it was through the non-Mark Group audit that I really learned about our home, what improvements we needed to make, how to prioritze them), Mark Group came back to give us an estimate for insulating our attic. We ended up going with another company, although I did have a good experience with Shawn Kennedy, who gave us the estimate.

Description of Work: within days of my first call Chase, Home Performance Advisor, came & walked through the house to assess energy leaks, found only that the attic had NO insulation. He thoroughly inspected the attic & gave me a verbal plan, followed up in writing with a proposal including price. Right away when I accepted the proposal with a deposit of $300., we made an appointment for the work to be done. Two men arrived exactly on time, carried out the work as planned, took fotos of the work on my camera, and were thoroughly professional. They had the work done by noon, and didn't leave a trace of work remains outside the attic. They even wore shoe covers. work done: air sealed & insulated attic floor to R-38 value, weatherstripped & insulated the attic entry. sealed recessed lighting fixtures, installed rafter baffle vents. DO what you're doing -- professional service very well done. Would be great if you could work on Saturdays. DON'T have unneeded visit by staff during the work just to sit and talk with the homeowner -- whatever information sought by that visit could better be done by mail or phone.

Description of Work: They arrived on time and performed the work efficiently. A problem arose from something beyond their ability that was not their fault, and they were able to reschedule the work at the last minute to suit my needs, as something else came up that they were not responsible for.
