Frank Grootenboer is his REAL name, but he uses several aliases, including Frank Winston. We used him to do two bathrooms and a bedroom. He is from the Netherlands, so he is a very smart and articulate man with an authentic accent. He is very considerate of little kids and pets. He works with his wife, Jill, photos included. Anyway, we used him to fix a recent and very bad paint job, performed by somebody else. We thought he did a good job, INITIALLY. Crafty and hard-working. He said that the upcoming winter December would be very slow for him and that he could use the work, so we booked him to repaint our hallway and living room with window trim, as well as re-paint the bedroom ceiling that he had painted before, but just was not done well enough at all. He also restained a wood beam on the ceiling--which he did a very nice job on, I must say. As we were out of town, on vacation, we entrusted Frank and Jill to work in our home independently. We paid him up front, and we ALSO paid him an additional $1,000 SPECIFICALLY to paint one exterior wall of our home in the spring to be scheduled when the weather was warmer. We have a contract for all of this. When we returned from our vacation, we were disappointed with the quality of the work. They left a lot of blue masking tape along the edges, there was a lot of paint on the carpet and with what appeared to be a RUSHED job. The ceiling work was terrible. We told him about the tape and the paint on the carpet and the tape along the edges, and he didn't want to do anything about it. Although I couldn't trust him with interior work, and because I pre-paid him for the exterior wall work, in the spring, I called Frank and asked him when he'd like to do the exterior wall, which we paid him UP FRONT $1,000 for. He was shocked that I would call him. He said it was too late, because he was too busy. I said, "No problem, just pay me the $1,000 back." He refused and told be to go to h***. He was paid to do work, which he never completed: a thief.
Description of Work: Removed wallpaper from two bathrooms, and primed and painted two bathrooms, a bedroom, a living room, and a hallway ceiling, cabinetry, window trim. He stained a wood ceiling beam. He also installed window blinds in two bedrooms. Then, finally, he stole $1,000 from me.

Excellent customer service - and boy do they move fast. I like that they are reasonable about their commitment of time and it was noticeable for how they spoke about their customers ahead of me. I felt that since they were respectful of their current clients, I would be treated the same.
Description of Work: I could not be happier finding this painter. Frank and Jill are very professional, and best is that they help you find discounts for quality paint. I really appreciate how the work quickly and respect time. They are my go to painters - and they have not even started the work.
