+ -1 moreThe Three man crew of Darius, Jacob and driver, Cody L. Showed up on time and went straight to work. All three were hard working, courteous and respectful. They never balked at moving some large heavy objects and actually helped in making furniture placment suggestion in the new house. We had packed everything in advance so the move involved numerous boxes, crates, furniture, a riding mower, and various household items. Three rather heavy storage cabinets were moved to the basement of the new home without damage or complaints. The original plan was to have the truck go back to the home and pack the remaining items which did not fit on the first load. Fortunately the Marching Ant Dispatcher was able to have another two man crew with an empty truck returning from Ohio meet me at the house .They quickly loaded the remaining items while the original crew unpacked the first truck and moved everything into the new home. This actually made the move faster and below the estimated price. Overall both crews were excellent. They took care with our possessions and there was no damage to any items. I would not hesitate to recommend the Marching Ant Moving Company to anyone considering a move
Description of Work: We hired Marching Ant Moving to move us from our home that we had lived in for twenty years. The move was about 20 minutes from our former home. We received in house quotes from two other larger companies, but went with Marching Ant due to a favorable quote, Angie's list reviews and their overall presentation. The quote was based on three men and a nine hour day.

+ -1 moreI was so pleasantly surprised! I was apprehensive about hiring movers... afraid they would be unreliable, unprofessional, and not concerned about my belongings . But Cody, Darius, and Cody were punctual (actually 15 minutes early each day!), polite, professional, took great care with my items, and also worked consistently, diligently, and were always conscious not to waste time. They moved some pretty heavy items, and managed to somehow arrange it all to fit most of my house in a storage unit... in 30 degree weather.
Description of Work: I needed help finishing packing my home up, and then moving during the Christmas holidays.

They were positive and friendly, very attentive and responsive to our concerns and our worries. They were quick to respond to our requests to move furniture from one place to another if we wanted to experiment. They worked really well as a team and were professional in their approach to the job. They managed their time really well and were efficient in their effort. They made certain they left everything clean and they took a lot of pride in their work. We couldn't have been more pleased with g heir work.

+ -1 moreIt was a good move. Willy and Joe worked their butts off. We really gave them a challenge. When they finished loading up there wasn't any room for anything else. The same just about held true when we got to the storage units (one cold and the other climate controlled). There was little room for anything else in either unit. They had to be smart packing everything in. Not only that, nothing was damaged. Good job, guys! Ben's time estimate was a little bit high which worked out for us---no unpleasant surprises at the end of the move.

+ -1 moreWe hired the Marching Ants to move us across town with an additional stop at a storage unit. They were accomodating when we had to change our move-in date. Will, Andrew and Shane arrived bright and early and immediately started to worked their tails off! They were polite, friendly and very careful of our belongings. All went well until thunderstorms rolled in. When we decided the rains weren't going to end anytime soon, I asked if we could do the rest on another day. They were already booked for the rest of the week but this crew volunteered to work on Sunday to finish up the job! I got a call the next day offering me a cancellation spot, so we got to finish even earlier. Our crew for the second half of the move was Will, Don and Tyler and we again had great service. Can't say enough good things about these guys! We love the Ants!!! (Especially you, Will.)

+ -1 morePromises were made but not kept .Mattress covers not provided after promised. Wardrobe boxes didn't come with truck so clothes were wrapped in blankets, another promise. One man had to leave to pick up something so down to one man for a time. Damage to items because of lack of care. Mattresses were dirty because they were pulled across of bed of truck. Scratches on table top because they slide boxes across top. Glass shelves were chipped because of poor storage on truck. Broken items because of stacking to high. Many complaints.

+ -1 moreOwner provided estimate and the movers actually finished fast and the bill came in lower. We used 4 movers and one truck because there was an issue with the second truck. I was worried about that configuration originally but it worked well. The guys were polite and professional. Nothing broken or scratched. They did a great job and I would recommend them.

+ -1 moreThey were punctual and did exactly what they said they were going to do. They provided enough people. They also had the expertise to do the job properly because the vending machines were quite heavy and the combo machines were about 6 feet tall and cannot be tipped more than 30 degrees because of the refrigeration. They were able to locate the equipment exactly where we needed it and we had no trouble at all with them. I actually met the owner, Ben, and we've used them over a six-year period. I've sold the vending machine business and I've recommended Ben to the new owner.

+ -1 moreWe had been given a move-in date 3 different times and they were very patient with us during the process. Nick and Van arrived on time the morning of the move. They were very thorough, honest, and professional the entire time. I was unpacking and putting things away as they were moving the bigger items in and I was so happy that all of my grandma's trinkets in my china cabinet were in one piece, not even a scratch! I can not praise this company enough and I will most definitely refer everyone I know to them! A HUGE THANKS to Krista, Nick, and Van for making this a great experience AND keeping my TV in one piece :)

They were equipped with all the necessary tools and packaging to ensure fragile items were not damaged. The move was quick and efficient. When they got to the destination, all items were moved and placed exactly where we wanted them. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with this service. The price was better than other quotes from movers in the area. There is no doubt that we'd use this company again, and recommend them to others. Fantastic job from start to finish.

+ 0 moreWOW. JUST WOW. These guys were just simply the best. I called a couple of weeks prior to needing the movers to move a household from storage into a new home. After discussion, they quoted me a price on the phone (final cost came in LOWER). They showed up precisely on time to the storage unit, very quickly and professionally loaded all items onto the truck and just as quickly (which is important because they charge by the hour), moved the items into my home. They were completely professional, polite, and did everything I asked. They put together various items including a desk, bed, sectional, and TV. I cannot praise them enough. I would certainly use them again and would most highly recommend them.

+ -1 moreThey arrived, assessed the situation and needs and began working quickly and efficiently. They took care to wrap the antique furniture and move things carefully. Once the truck was loaded, we made a stop at my daughter's to unload her items and then to my parents' house to unload the rest. It only took two hours and I am very pleased that I hired them to do the work. A few of the items were very heavy, but they handled it well. Would definitely recommend Ben and his crew to do a local move or a whole house. Thanks for saving our backs!

Description of Work: The company was called 1 week prior moving after being dissappointed by other services we called with high pricing and unprofessionalism. (We had a large 4 br/3 bath 3000 sq. ft home plus 3+ garage and pole barn) So we were VERY nervous about the "large amount of belongings" to be moved of course! They were referred by a friend who was VERY happy with their services. So we contacted Ben and he was out the next day to give us a quote and we were very pleased with his prof. estimate and thorough eval. Then Date was set and he came back just before the move for final inspection and details. He assured us the move would go smoothly and they would do the best job possible for us which helped calm our anxiety! At the last minute, I purchased a new sofa and I asked them if it was possible to pick it up prior coming to our home..I was pleased that they did with no questions asked! 3 professional men came out, introduced themselves, went over all the details and started promptly! They arranged everything that was going to our new place first, then everything that went to storage last. They worked with great upbeat attitudes and made me feel very at ease, considering it was the HOTTEST day of the summer! I noticed that they handled our belongings with care,( they knew I was nervous about damage). We continued to offer them drinks and snacks because of the heat. About 1.2 hrs. away, We met them at our first stop at the storage unit to unload, then onto the new place to unload!! I kid you not..... They worked NON STOP from 9 AM to 7PM only taking a break to eat lunch on the way to our destinations!! We were SOOOO impressed with their dedication and effecient work ethics, that we would DEFINITELY hire them again!!! What a FANTASTIC TEAM!!! I believe their names were Mark, Chuck, and Joe aka.TAZ! (We nicknamed him for his hard work and personality!) Thank you Ben and your crew for making our move a SUCCESS!! T. and T. DeWitte, Roch. Hills, Mich. Do hire them for a great experience!! Do Talk to Ben and let him know we recommended you! Do get everything in writing! Do offer drinks and snacks for these "hardworking men" they deserve it! We "tipped" them..don't know if that's custom, but we felt they really deserved it!!! Check your fine furnishings over before they leave!! Just to be safe.. Everything was in perfect condition! They were insured and bonded in case of damage!! Don't dissassemble your beds.. let them do it and then they will reassemble them at your new place! HINTS--- Do have your personal belongings packed and mark each box (detail so you know whats in them) prior your move. They offer boxes for your hanging clothes! They just took them out of the closet and hung them up in boxes!! That was a HUGE timesaver! You don't have to box dresser drawers...they leave everything intacked!! Another big timesaver! Do mark "FRAGILE" boxes!! They are very careful with them! Pack your lampshades/and your fine paintings and jewelry, safe or any personal items of valuable to go with you to your destination! Pack your family a cooler and ice for drinks and some snacks! Have them assemble the beds for you! Pack an overnight bags in your luggages with your bed linens and pillows and toiletries for a quick fix...(your tired and dont want to have to search for them!!)

I've had some unpleasant experiences with other movers in the Flint-area in the last 10 years. But the experience this time was so very different from the phone interview, general estimate, and setting of the appointment. They were very helpful, accomodating, flexible. And on moving day, there is nothing worse - than them showing up early and ready to work :-)I NEVER HAD A MOVER SHOW UP ON TIME - LET ALONE EARLY!The two men sent were great, friendly, professional.......and QUICK! We held them up. They reviewed the entire job and prepped as professionals do. They made suggestions, worked with what we had ready - and helped with what we did not. Everything that daywent very well. No move is perfect - ever, and proper expectations is always part ofthe day. But the crew supplies and the owner at Marching Ant could not have been better! I have needs for another move in about 30 days, and we are using themagain without question. Need a quality mover at a reasonable rate.....call MARCHING ANT MOVERS!

+ -1 moreSO DISAPPOINTED!!! I called Marching Ants Moving for an estimate on Tuesday. I was told that they couldn't move us on Saturday but they'd look for volunteers to work on Sunday and they were supposed to get back with me. I had not heard back from them so I called Thursday morning. I was told they had one guy lined up but they had and quot;dropped the balland quot; on following up wtih any of the other guys. They were supposed get with the other guys and let me know by the close of business on Thursday. They called Saturday morning to let me know they'd finally found a crew. I had someone else there to move us by the time they called back.
Description of Work: no services were performed - they couldn't or wouldn't return phone calls
