We had called 3 companies to give us estimates on this work. Tom Krzystan of Home Renovation & Repair by Tom was by far the most timely and professional of all of them. He communicated with us both by email and by phone and always got back with us when he said he would. He tore down the soffitt over our snack bar in our dining area that had been poorly constructed (it was VERY crooked) by a previous homeowner and rebuilt it, utilizing as much of the original trim as possible to save us money. He gave us a lot of different ideas for lighting. (The original soffitt had fluorescent lights in it that shouldn't have been dimmable, but were on a dimmer switch) He installed CFL canned spotlights that are dimmable. While he was here, he recommended that we change out the hot, expensive lights we had in the kitchen for cooler, less costly CFL bulbs and he personally picked them out so they were the same lighting colors as the new ones and then installed them for us for only the cost of the bulbs. He did an excellent, professional job. He was extremely cognizant of keeping our home and his work area clean at all times. Never once did we have to clean up after he left. It was a relatively small job, but he treated us as though he was building a mansion for us!! He was amazing and I highly recommend him. He is a licensed contractor and extremely knowledgeable, reliable, and personable.
