Very complete and professional inspection. Background as a builder allowed him to see things we had missed.

Ron and his daughter Jane showed up promptly at the time of scheduled appointment. Their expertise and professionalism blew me away. They inspected the house from top to bottom giving me feedback along the way as well as answering any questions or concerns. That coupled with a detailed report the next day was paramount to my decision to not buy the house for 'settling' issues.

They we're very professional, and knowledgeable and up to date on current codes, they did an excellent job and I will be using them again and recommending them to all family and friends.

Ron has his builders license and seems very knowledgeable. He was easy to schedule and emailed a detailed report the next day.He identified several serious issues that allowed me to make an informed decision regarding purchase of the home. Affordable and informative without added fluff you don't need. I will call Ron again.

Ron was very thorough and very patient when answering any questions that I had while he did the inspection. He encouraged me to tag along with him to see what he was seeing. He made both my wife and I feel like we were able to ask questions about the inspection as well as questions about how to remedy discrepancies that were found to correctly fix them. We would DEFINITELY use him again for future inspections as well as refer friends to him in the future.

Ron was great. He was very thorough and made honest recommendations. After going through his inspection, he sat down with us to go over each area of the house and property, detailing its condition, what could be fixed, and recommending any immediate fixes that are needed. He made sure we understood what he was talking about and took the time to show us if we weren't sure.

Ron was very detailed and methodical. He spent almost three hours, but it was worth the wait! He was very knowledgeable and willing to teach me things as we went along. Great work. You will be glad you hired this man!

Don't hesitate to hire Rob. He's excellent. Excellent, professional work by an experienced and knowledgeable inspector. Rob inspected our new home, and was on time, thorough and very helpful. Even though he had a busy day, his very complete report came to us by day's end. I shared it with our builder, and he quickly went to work on fixing the issues that Rob identified. During our inspection, we were fortunate to also have a representative from the builder, and Rob was able to raise his concerns directly. He spoke to him with authority, and acted as an excellent advocate for me as the new home buyer. I'm grateful for Rob's help.

I only spoke on the phone but, I felt confident that if I needed to proceed with a home inspection prior to purchase of a home that I would be happy with the thoroughness and quality of the services. All was explained very well and I got an estimate of the cost of services.

Ron was very friendly, punctual and thorough in his inspection. He welcomed me to follow him around and explained everything to to me as he carried out his inspection. It was much more educational than either of my previous two home inspections that were performed with other inspectors in other markets. Ron had to drive 1.5 hours to the house in South Haven for a 8:00 AM appointment. He was 10 minutes early! I walked with Ron during his inspection and I was amazed on how much knowledge he has on home inspection especially on home on sandy soil and near the lake. Ron pointed out areas that may need maintenance and repair. Talking to Ron was very helpful in identifying which items must be addressed immediately and others are on going maintenance. That evening Ron emailed his report and it was accurate and complete. Ron was a pleasure to talk to. I would recommend Ron and his company on any Michigan house inspection.

It went very well and it wasn't super pricy! He didn't even charge us extra for the termite inspection that we needed. He was very nice and got the inspection done for us right away. The best part was that he got us the inspection report that very same night so we could get the ball rolling faster in the closing process!

Needed a quick inspection on a cottage we are buying in Pentwater. Ron was awesome. He worked around our schedule and made the 50 mile drive to Pentwater for the inspection. He arrived early and did an excellent job. The cottage is over 100 years old. Ron took the time to answer all of the many questions that we had. He is very knowledgeable and willing to share his vast experience. You can't go wrong using him for any home inspection.

Ron was fantastic! He was so friendly and thorough! Ron had no problem with me or my fiance tagging along and asking a million questions. We had a full 16 page report by 6am the next day! He not only did the full inspection but in his report gave us tips on regular upkeep and maintenance that we could do in order to keep our house in tip top shape. He checked out both of the attics, every outlet, tested the water pressure when multiple faucets were running and evaluated some cracks in the basement floor. He patiently explained everything in the basement where the pumps, pipes and furnace are. Ron was just so great to work with. He said if we had any questions about the report we could call him too!

I was able to call him several times with questions and asked for advice and it seemed like he always had my best interest in mind. He seems very honest and informed. I will definitely ask him for another inspection if I need this service in the future.

Overall, I was impressed. Ron is a former builder and knows how houses ought to be put together. Ron met us at the house right on time. He inspected the entire house and was very thorough, calling out items of particular interest. He took about 2.5 hours, took notes on his laptop/notebook computer. We received his very-detailed report the next day, as promised. The report also included suggestions for keeping the house and mechanicals in good working order. Ron also arranged for the pest inspection which happened at the same time.

I am not at all satisfied..

Ron was very professional and complete with his inspection. He arrived at the house early and had already begun walking through it to familiarize himself with the lay-out of the house. When he began the inspection, he started outside and walked the entire lot, commenting as he went along about everything he noticed, good and bad. He went up on the roof and reported down to us what he saw up there as well as in the attic. He went room by room inside the house, being very thorough in each one. He checked all the outlets, doors and windows. He turned on all the faucets and flushed all the toilets. He commented about whether or not repairs that needed to be done were simple or extensive fixes. Ron was happy to stop throughout the inspection to answer our questions and be sure that we understood everything that he was doing and checking. He left the radon test canister at the end of the inspection and returned to the house 2 days later to pick it up. He sent us the results of the radon test within 24 hours and also included an information sheet to help us decipher the report. Ron even stayed after the inspection was complete so that our family could check out the house. Ron did not take any pictures of anything, but that wasn't a problem since both my husband and I were present and took our own pictures of everything. We had a copy of the inspection report only 6 hours after completion of the inspection which he did on a Saturday afternoon.

I arrived and Van's was already there. He had been on the roof and already finished up the outside inspection before the appointment time. The inspection was extremely thorough. I spent 4 and a half hours there with him while he explained everything right and wrong about the property. He explained how to maintain everything in the home to keep it running at max efficiency as well as providing information to increase the longevity of everything in the home. There wasn't a room or item missed and I would definitely use him again in the future. He had tons of experience as a builder and inspector and I enjoyed learning many things from him. He never seemed to rush me and did not seem to be in a rush. He answered any question I asked and seemed to have an answer for everything. The report was well done and easy to comprehend.

Van's arrived on time for my appointment. He was friendly and answered all of my questions. The quality of the report was good but I wish pictures of problem areas would have been taken and submitted with the report. Other than that, I was very happy with the job. I would hire again and recommend to others.

Great! We contacted Van's because we wanted an exterior inspection of our older home. Ron was prompt and very thorough in his inspection of our home exterior. He answered all our questions and explained everything. Very helpful in giving us suggestions on what needed to be fixed and when. This helped us set up a timeline for the exterior repairs (i.e. we have 2 years to save for a new roof!). He sent a follow up email with recommendations and a reminder list of the things that needed work.

This is a knowledgeable home inspector with a reasonable price, very honest in his assessments and easy to work with. Only two things I would have liked included those being a full functionality test of plumbing that did not work when turned on and believe he should have tested light fixtures as he checked all the outlets but not light fixtures without bulbs or that appeared to have burned out bulbs. The plumbing was simply listed as non functional but we were left not sure if the pump just needed priming or replacement, this being said I don't think any inspectors do either of these so if you want the fixtures checked bring light bulbs on your own and test them while your inspector tests the outlets and realize that additional investment in a specialist like plumber or electrician may be needed before you actually know the condition of the home.
