Bedrock Decorative Concrete

An absolute nightmare. Likes to be paid in cash (not check: CASH) And doesn't give you a receipt. Nice guy, and talks a good game, texts you back with lots of promises. But if he messes up (like he did with my job), he will not stand by his work, and will have a thousand excuses why he can't fix at the moment. I paid over $8,000 for an aggregate walkway. It was completely messed up when installed last August, and Bill said he would remove and replace after he did a few other jobs and made some money to fund the redo. . (He claimed that it was one of his partner's fault, the concrete comoany's fault, etc., and that he couldn't afford to fix). Then he said he would be back at end of October. Now he says it is too late in the year. His excuse now is that he doesn't want his good name on a re-do because the weather is bad (I was afraid of that, but he assured me in texts last summer that he could pour until December). But right now his name is on it, it looks absolutely terrible, and I have concrete all over my brick wall which he will not come out to remove. He tore up my garden, ruined the edging, and refuses to come back to fix that, either. Buyer beware. His business was incorporated in 2006, and he has not paid his corporation fee to the State of Michigan so his business license has lapsed. He claims that what other unscrupulous people do is wait to get sued, then start another company. So maybe that is the plan, I'm not sure. Taxes (employment taxes and income taxes) are not dischargeable. Hopefully he has taken the cash i handed him and treated the IRS and State of Michigan better than he has treated me. If he refunds me or comes out to fix my problems (even removing the cement all over my brick), I will re-post. For now, I have given up.

Bill applied a colored grey concrete, and then based on his ability , spayed color on the top before sealing for the first time. He did not return to apply the 2nd sealer and we are now getting flaking of the color. Bill came out in the winter to look at more work in the house, but we never received another bid on the other work. I have contacted him and sent pictures of the problems with the patio, and he will not respond. I received a text that he was mad at me as I have a dispute with a plumber he recommended that did not finish a job correctly. So Bill, is refusing to fix his mistakes because of this. I contacted his girlfriend to apologize for any problems this may have inadvertently caused with my plumbing problem, and have contracted the plumber again to resolve. I cannot get Bill to respond, but wanted to let everyone know that he does good work, but apparently lets his emotions dictate what his guarantee is to problems with his work,. I have had another contractor out to view the flaking of color, and he thinks it was too cool when this concrete was poured and painted. It is going to cost me $600 to have another person fix Bill's mistakes. I am sorry to have to write this, as I was beginning to think of Bill as a friend, as we corresponded regularly through the Presidential campaign. I am sad it has come to this, and if Bill stands behind his work, as his girlfriend and he have said ( on my texts) I will remove this and again recommend him. But not now. This is unprofessional.

Negotiated a decent price for stamped concrete and they did the job however as you can see by the photos left a giant stain in center of the Slab that looks terrible. The owner assured me that he would take care of the issue and i kept getting pushed back until now for the last 3 days i just dont get a response from him mind you this was done almost 2 months ago.. I guess ill just have to take him to court. Ugh Angie's list doesn't always work out

It was great! Bill did what he said he'd do, and everyone who sees the patio is very impressed. We love it! He also sent his uncle over to help us out w/ a new porch/stairs, and Frank and his guy worked for two days in killer heat to get it done. All in all, we couldn't be happier w their service.

There was some delay at the start, but once begun, all went well. We are very happy with the finished product.

Bill came out to give me a quote and went through what he thought our concrete needed and options we had. We decided on the projects we wanted done and a price and Bill was able to complete the work while we were on vacation.

My experience with Bill and the men who work with him was wonderful. They made the process so easy as they worked so hard and concisely. I was amazed how quickly it took shape. He was here on time .... no messes.... and what I like most is he really listened to me on where I wanted it and how I wanted it angled. So women out there making this kind of decision ... give Bill a call. He will not disappoint you. Such a wonderful person.

I'm very pleased with the final result. The patio is really a show place now and Bill provided some extras including a border to set it off beautifully. But the great thing about the crew is that they are so pleasant and so accommodating, willing to do all kinds of extra things that always crop up on a deal like this. They were always on the job as promised and worked around the weather as best they could. They left the site perfectly clean, removing not only job-related items, but some othe stuff that we had lying around. I would certainly recommend Bill and his crew; they really are "artists in cement".

Wow... where do I begin ,,,I called Bill for an estimate -- he came out that very night ... but I had told him that my husband wanted to go with asphalt - as we THOUGHT asphalt would be less expensive--- NOT SO ! Long story - short -- Bill's concrete estimate was the same as the asphalt -- until we started adding color and texture to our driveway -- but even then, his pricing was very reasonable for the "art" he was creating. Bill went above and beyond what was expected -- we ran into some old buried septic tanks -- he removed them. He graded our front yard as it was very steep and we have ended up with our DREAM DRIVEWAY !!!! Bill Eves KNOWS CONCRETE ! he is 3rd generation in the concrete business -- you will get QUALITY and FAIR PRICING !!!

From start to finish, a completely professional , design, construct and clean up !

We spent several weeks looking into concrete contractors and attempting to get bids for a decorative concrete patio in our back yard. We've found Angie's list to be very helpful with all sorts of home services like irrigation, landscaping, gutters and other skilled trades. However, there really doesn't seem to be a lot of feedback on reasonably priced concrete contractors. Most of the vendors we spoke with were either booked out months in advance (and weren't interested in returning our calls), were very expensive or they just didn't appear to be very reputable. When we looked at Bill's website, it didn't appear that someone who would do this kind of work would be interested in driving to the Greater Grand Rapids area and then doing a small patio job. However, we found that Bill was exactly what we were looking for. We wanted someone who had years of experience, took exceptional pride in their work and yet wanted to keep their company small so that they can still do excellent work at a reasonable price. We didn't want the most expensive guy or the cheapest guy on the block. We wanted excellent value and we wanted the work done right the first time. That's exactly what we got with Bill. He was prompt, his crew was very polite and they completed our job in a very timely fashion. Most importantly, the job was done perfectly. We can't say enough about how amazing our new patio looks. All the neighbors are jealous! If you are located anywhere near the greater GR area, I would highly recommend that you contact Bill. You will find him to be excellent with decorative concrete, very honest, easy to work with and his pricing very reasonable.
