DALE LUTZ EXCAVATING

ABSOLUTELY FRIGHTENING & UNBELIEVABLE ORDEAL!! Lutz Jr. came out immediately to estimate the job. He got out of his vehicle & he said, "didn't I put a sump line in for you?" He was referring to the 2008 job. " You owe me $500". We thought he was joking. The 3 of us walked to the back of the house. Lutz talked to us about what the job might involve and he was congenial. On the way back to the front Lutz aggressively began shouting we owed him $500 and, "I'll see to it no one will ever do work for you again and I can do it". He shouted this 3 times. Our neighbors were outside in their yards. Lutz got in his pickup & started the motor. We pleaded with him to come up to the house & look at the paperwork we have for that 2008 job. Lutz refused, rapidly backed out of the drive all the while screaming, hollering, and pointing at us. When he got right in front of the house he just screamed, "I don't work for anyone who doesn't pay me". Lutz didn't bring any paper work to support his claim we owed him money! In the 6 yrs. since the job he alleges we owe him $500 we never received any notification we had not paid the bill in full. We never received another bill, an over due notice, no phone call! Absolutely nothing. My 82 year old mother was very very scared and upset to be a target of Lutz. I am a 64 year old female and I admit I was afraid of his obvious lack of control, threats and aggressive behavior. The invoice they gave us 03/21/2008 showed an estimate for $2,100. Paid $1,000 down. On 3/24 the total cost of the job $1,800. Paid $400. Another $400 owed after completion of grade work. We decided not to have the grade work done and there is still evidence in back that no grade work was performed. No where is there a $500 amount on the invoice for any service or amount due for a service. The same day of this incident I sent Dale Lutz aka Dale Lutz Excavating a certified letter with photocopies of their invoice for the 2008 job and advised them since it has been 6 years & the only indication that we owed them money was Jr.s hostile rants we consider the bill to have been paid in full. Further more if Lutz Jr. follows through with his threat to try & have us black listed or we become aware of him making disparaging comments about us to others we will pursue legal action. I also informed them that any future contact they have with us MUST be in written form.
