+ -1 moreThey came and sprayed for dandy lions and crab grass. I waited ten days to two weeks and no results. I called and asked them to come back. They set up an appointment for the following Friday. The manager said he would come out if nobody showed. Nobody has showed up so I called them and cancelled.
Description of Work: I used to use them years ago and wasn't happy with their services. I started up with them this year again.

+ -1 moreLots of problems. The workman the 1st day finished 1/2 of the job, stating he did not have the right equipment. NO ONE followed up, as the 1st workman had promised. I had to personally call and ask why no one came to finish the work. The supervisor called and stated he would come and finish the work, but never did. I have called this supervisor 4 times, with promises each time of service and NO FOLLOW-UP and NO SERVICE. I would NOT recommend using Tru-Green for any trimming services. I am a totally dissatisified customer, and Tru-Green has not done any time of follow-up with me despite my telling them of my displeasure on multiple occasions!!!!
Description of Work: We Scheduled Tru-Green to come out and do some trimming at our home. They promptly gave an estimate, and came out to attempt work Oct 2010.

+ 0 moreCorporate called me and offered me all sorts of things to stay their customer and I said enough is enough. No amount of service recovery was going to make up for the rudeness and relentlessness of the sales people. I want to deal with a local business and a familiar face I can trust so I gave my business to someone local. I believe I spent about 880.00 for 1.5 seasons worth of work (grass and tree/shrub both). My local guy said he has had other customers with the exact same complaint.
Description of Work: I kept Trugreen because the previous owner had them. The first year they were "OK" but then again, I didn't know that much about what they were doing. My grass looked ok but there were some thin spots near the lake edge of the property. They are always upselling service and there is a marked disconnect between sales and accounting. Last year I had to yell at them to get them to STOP calling me. If I consented to a service, they had to call me back and have the billing area "record the call". I said, "If I consent to something, record the first call and don't pester me two times for every single thing you do." They calmed down at the end of last year. This year, I was called in the early evening about "grub control". That's interesting because I didn't see anyone doing the appropriate testing to see if I really needed this. The sales woman had woken me up (I work midnights). She would not let me off the phone. She insinuated that because I did not want two calls for one order of grub control that I was going to hurt her and her family (i.e. that I was impatient or something and she would lose commission on the sale and her kids would starve or something). I told her that if the business is that unethical that the sales operation has to NOT be recorded and the billing does record the calls, there is a major flaw in their operations. Their sales tactics are terrible. When I couldnt get her to back off, I finally hung up on her. I cancelled all their services (I told them we got a divorce but I got custody of the dog lol). I found out later that my neighbor also hung up on the same sales rep regarding grub control. He said she was just as nasty and pushy with him. I was also getting bills that were in my neighbor's name and the guy who does the spraying was not all that nice to me one time when I asked him not to spray around my mailbox with fertilizer that time because I had a mother duck and 7 duck eggs nested there.

+ -1 moreUsed this service for about 6 years and was happy with it. Always pre-paid to get discount. Had no complaints until this year. This year we decided to cut back on the amount of service for financial reasons. Bob Parshall worked with me over the phone to set up the service for the year. He told me he was giving me extra discounts. I pre-paid once again. It went fine at first, but by mid summer I was getting bills for services that I had already pre-paid for. I called repeatedly to get it straightened out, but no luck. Their accounting practices are HORRIBLE. I finally ended up paying more just to stop the frustration. Have asked them not to contact me again.

+ -1 moreI've told them a couple of times not to fertilize the backyard as I am thinking about putting in gravel but they do things like aerate and fertilize in hard clay when I am deliberately letting the lawn die in the back. They don't follow instructions. I would give them a C minus.

+ -1 moreI tried to ascertain how they could help me and how to keep my dog safe before I agreed to try them. They said they could absolutely kill my weeds, sow grass seed and notify me before they cam so that I could keep my dog inside while they were here. None of this is true. After 3 treatments my lawn looks worse than it did and they just show up to do the lawn. I have no way to protect my dog.
