Good old Penney's. I'm still a customer after 50 years.
Description of Work: The store had exactly the coat I wanted--on sale. The women doing the work were all well-trained and didn't treat me like I was just another demanding customer. If I have any negatives to report, it's that not enough registers were open, so there was a long line to wait through. Service at the back register was very good, but I couldn't find anybody to help out on the floor. Your shoplifting losses must be substantial.

Our appliances were sort of getting old. I was remodeling so I wanted to replace things any way so if they couldn't fix it, we didn't need the plan any more. The price wasn't worth it.
Description of Work: We used to have this plan through Sears where you pay like 30 dollars a month or something and they would come out and repair any appliances in your house but we discontinued it. They would repair your stove, refrigerator or washer and dryer. They fixed the microwave, they were covering like the furnace or the air conditioning but we discontinued it because they wouldn't fix the microwave oven combination any more.

The fridge was only 3-4 years old when it stopped working. It was a problem caused by a surge in electricity. It was an expensive repair but the repairman also added a surge protector to the outlet so it would be avoided. Matt was a knowledgeable technician and he was careful to clean up after himself.
Description of Work: The provider replaced the circuit board in our fridge.

They beat all others in pricing and worked hard to make the wheel alignment perfect I would go to them to replace the tires on my 1967 AC Cobra. It's red with white stripes and fast. A show car winner.

I went in there and found the stuff that I liked in right color that I was looking for and I just bought it and they shipped it over. They had appealing product at that time which I bought.

Our fridge died on a Friday evening. Sears informed me they could not come out for over 2 weeks to fix it! (They didn't seem to see anything wrong with that.) I went on Twitter to complain and got a reply back within minutes that I had been forwarded to a case manager. They informed me that someone could be out on Tuesday to fix it - sometime between 1 and 5. Well, 5 PM came and went and I had heard nothing. I called and, after much fumbling on their part, I learned that the tech was running behind and that it would be 6:30 at the earliest. The tech finally showed up at 7 PM. The tech actually was great! (Besides really smelling strongly of cigarettes...) He fixed the problem in a half an hour (it was a broken fan) and was quite knowledgable about the different warranties and even noticed a mistake that a previous repairman had made. My problem was not with the overworked repairman (he had such a long day and was still very polite), it is with Sears. Dispatch should have called to tell me that the tech was running so late. They also need to hire more techs so that they do not run so late and can schedule appointments for under two weeks late.
Description of Work: Our fridge was not cooling. It needed a new fan.

My overall experience was B. Their price was lowest in town and online. Their quality was great. They gave me an exact date and timeframe when they would do the installation. They were professional. They even wiped their shoes and made sure they were clean before they came into the house. I would probably use them in the future.

Description of Work: Purchased a Kenmore french door, double drawer freezer refrigerator. First one delivered had some problems with the door molding not being flush and some scratching and a paint chip on the left front door, plus a scratch on the interior. Set up delivery time for replacement on the following day. Sears did not show and did not call to tell us the replacement was undeliverable due to damage, so we wasted an afternoon for no reason. Rescheduled replacement delivery for the following day. Delivery personnel showed up but the refrigerator received was worse than the intial product that was delivered. We ended sending both of them back and now need to start from the beginning. It took a long time to decide upon a refrigerator and I am indeed very disappointed by Sears lack of effort and response in taking care of the problem. I expected that the replacement should have been void of problems and in pristine condition, but was wrong in my assessment of Sears ability to repsond adequately.

They did a good job. I paid $65 when they last came out for the normal service call. It was best to leave it as it is because of the age of the refrigerator instead of purchasing a new mechanism for the ice maker. It would have cost just as much as buying a new refrigerator. My experience with them was good. The man was honest with us and he saved me money. He looked at it, told me what the problem was and told me what it would cost to actually get it back to 100%. I would use their services in the future too.
Description of Work: I used the services of Sears for repairing my clothes washer. Their last visit was within the last six months to repair the ice maker in the refrigerator.

Description of Work: Our daughter got a grease job and oil change there and they ruined her engine. They haven't gotten back with them at all. They keep saying they will fix it but they never do, they just keep putting her off. I won't go there anymore.

Sears was great with us. Their prices were good. the lady that worked with us was really good. We went back to ask questions and she came in early to help us, as she had been helping us and knew what we had been talking about it. I thought it was nice of her to come in early and help us, as it was something she did not have to do. She did everything she said she would do. If I called with questions she would get the answers and call back. If she said she would would call back, she would, whether she had the answer or not.
Description of Work: We purchased a washer, dryer, stove and refrigerator from Sears.

Good. They had the best props. The lady was very friendly and knew how to make the kid smile. The only downside is that the session was a little too short and there were a couple photos that we would've like retaken (but I guess that's the way it goes on all those services)
