Dave was a nice guy, but didn't always listen to my wishes. His design was good, but I decided on another company.

Dave & team built me a two car detached garage on new concrete, complete except no insulation and no electricity per my preference, plus he replaced about a thousand square feet of old concrete driveway. The project was slow getting started because of Fall rain and wind, but once underway it went quickly and well. I like the quality of the actual construction. Dave is easy to work with and seems to know his stuff. His initial quote, without the driveway work, was higher than another contractor, but I chose him because of his reviews here and something negative I heard about the other guy. The construction work by itself would have gotten an "A". The "C" overall grade is because the various trucks, particularly the heavy readymix truck and the roofing materials hoist truck, drove across and parked on the soft lawn to access the construction location, instead of accessing it from the driveway. This resulted in about a thousand square feet of deeply rutted mud where nice flat lawn had been. Dave didn't mention that that was the plan, and I didn't realize I needed to ask. His assumption per our after-the-fact discussion was that I would have known I'd have to have that area filled, graded and re-sodded at my own expense next Spring. I wasn't happy with that aspect of the outcome when he said he was done. After he initially proposed that we would split the cost of having it fixed, Dave agreed to bring in fill dirt and smooth out the area at his cost. Getting it actually level after the new dirt settles, and seeding or sodding it, and all the work to eventually get it to a good smooth lawn again will be my problem. I understand that after the lawn damage was done and the work to fix it wasn't in Dave's quote, there wasn't anything good for him to do about it. It was too late in the Fall to fix it beyond what he offered to do, and did at his expense. I just wish that I'd known up front that he planned that access for the trucks. I might have changed my mind about whether having the garage built was a good idea. It was an unfortunate problem, because other than the lawn issue everything about the job, from estimate interactions to build quality to construction cleanup, went very well.

Dave Poirier, was a few minutes late, but called and explained the reason, arrived on time. He did a from the ground inspection and told me the roof looked good. He offered to do a complete inspection for a $149.00 charge, and I approved. He went on the roof checked it out and informed me that I could expect another 10-15 years out of the roof. Another company, One Time Construction, was going door to door in my area claming that a hail storm in summer had done a lot of damage in our area. Offered to do a roof inspection, after telling the the sales landy no thanks about 20 times, I just gave up and agreed. Needless to say we were in need of a new roof. The owner Dave Poirier was very responsive to my request for quote. I liked his open style of sharing how he formulated the quote. His crew showed up to do the work on the dates he promised they would. The work was done within the expected timeframe. Minor changes that occur with most jobs was handled professionally and without issue. Work looks great and worksite was cleaned up. Bottom line is I feel I received good work from a professional organization at a fair price.

The project went very well. They knew it was our only full bath and did their best to keep on schedule. They were here every day and the dry wall installer even came on the weekend to keep the process on pace. Tearing out an old bathroom can lead to some surprises, and it did, they handled them in a professional manner. My wife and I were extremely pleased with the workmanship and quality of the finished product. There were a few small items that needed attention and they corrected them. The quote was accurate and the workmanship was excellent. I would not hesitate to use Motor City again.

We did not choose MotorCity Builders to do our addition due to cost. Our addition was a small one (10x21), and Dave subcontracts a lot of the work out. Unfortunately, this made the cost a little high due to the small amount of various jobs needed on the addition. If the addition had been bigger, we probably would have chose him.

They were prompt, polite and on budget. The pitch of the driveway was corrected to promote proper drainage.

Dave came out and helped up come up with a plan. Our meeting went well. He is going to e-mail me the design plans.

He arrived on time and gave me several ideas and the estimates were in the ballpark with the other estimates I was given. I haven't had any remodeling done yet but I was very impressed with the owner of Motor City Builders who gave me my estimate.

The estimate given was reasonably and we signed a contract for the work to begin in September 2013.

Scheduled an appointment in May. The appt was scheduled for 11am. He never showed. At approx 2pm he called and left a message saying that he was running late. We decided to try 1 more time and rescheduled. The second time he showed up. The deal was to give you a drawn design of any room of your choice.. I told him that I wanted the kitchen for my choice. He walked in looked around and said, yep not much you can do with this little of space. I explained to him what my husband and myself had come up with for ideas and he wrote them plans down. He said he would email within a week. I did receive an email with a price for the work of the plans that i had given him. I never received any drawing for the design. I have to say I was not very impressed.

Motor City Builders' price was reasonable. They were quick on giving us a quote. They were good in answering questions.

They did a good job overall. They were courteous and trustworthy. They were in my house when I was at work. They came and gave me an estimate first. The owner came out regularly to check on things. Their customer service was good. He was out there quite a bit and let me know what was going on with timeframes and everything.

The owner, Dave Poirier, came to my house and looked at the job with me. I explained what happened when it rained and Dave gave me an estimate on the spot. Because my family and I had another appointment, Dave agreed to do the job based on a handshake. He had his guys come out a short time later and they made the repair very quickly. I waited until it rained before leaving this report. The repair was done well and there was no leak after a good, soaking rain. What I liked most about Motor City Builders is that they quoted me a fair price, they didn't try to sell me anything else and they did the job in a timely fashion. I will definitely consider Motor City for future roof and / or construction work on my house in the future.

Absolutely Perfect. The crew stayed on the job (literally, they remained on that roof from morning to end of shift),they took no breaks until the end of the day. The temperatures were in the 30's. They did this to insure no further interior damage was done. They cleaned up after each days work and then did a final sweep and left the area spotless. They were professional and efficient.

It went SO well! When Dave came out and quoted me a price he was very thorough in what was involved. In the middle of the process, things changed and we had to add the storms to the order but Dave wasn't fazed at all. He took it all in stride. When the crew arrived, they were punctual, courteous, professional, friendly and kept a clean job site. My husband and I are talking about a kitchen remodel and Motor City Builders will be the first ones we call!

They are excellent. I don't have any dislikes about them. They are very easy to work and had some fantastic ideas, installed and delivered the product in a very timely manner and that was good. I would use them again.

Completed job substandard-light switches put in upside down, sink area not caulked, tub legs not flush to tub, scratched decorative faucet and piping scratched and not replaced, hand held shower head leaks, paint job on room poor (i.e. bald spots on wall and at bottom of hallway door ) ,shower leaking along door, lights over tub failed, workman carrying hand guns into home without permission. Job completed? Way over estimated time. Hideous overall! Update 5/1/13 We have met on numerous occasions. The workman came in and fixed everything. The previous crew was substitutes. They have gone above and beyond. They did additional work as well. It was timely. I am very satisfied.

My experience with Motor City Builders was great. They worked with me, if there were some problems, we can talk about them and work through them.

We learned about firm at Flint Home Show. They were one of 3 we had give us estimates for our roof. We found during the estimate process they had performed worked for the previous owner. Based on their estimate we chose them for our roof replacement. We paid half prir to start. tand completed it in 2 days. The first day they picked up any debris that had fallen on the ground. The firm had their own dumpster for removal of the old material. They completed the project on the second day.

When we contacted Motor City Builders, Dave Poirier came to our home within 24 hours to examine our roof. He also drove my wife and me around the area to show us a wide variety of roofs that he had put on other homes as well as pointing out the pros and cons of different types of roofs. He made recommendations about the type of roof that would be best for our home. We couldn't have asked for better personal service as well as the professionalism and quality of the work done by the Motor City Builder's team. What impressed us the most was that the roofing team had been with Motor City Builders for several years and the quality of their work was extraordinary. The crew was conscientious, at our home before 7:00am every morning, and did a remarkable job of cleaning up every day. They had us come out periodically to examine their workmanship, which they were proud of.Dave Poirier also came out every day to check on the crew and the work on our home. They completed the job on time and within the promised budget. We couldn't have been more satisfied. The new roof and storm/screen door look awesome & increases the curb appeal of our home a lot. This was also our experience in the past when Motor City Builders installed new windows on our home, a new concrete driveway, siding, as well as bathroom remodeling. Perfect!!!! It was better than I imagined! My neighbors commented on how beautiful my addition is. They also plan to hire him for their remodeling projects.

Motor City Builders were great. The workers did excellent work in a professional and friendly manner. Dave the owner, was very helpful and responsive to any problems or concerns that we had. The job went quickly and service after the job was finished was very good. I will not hesitate to use Motor City for future projects.
