BEWARE! We spent over $12,000 on eight trees in 2021. Five are dead and three are leaning so bad they're ready to tip over. The last time Jeff came out on Aug 8, 2022 he said he was going to replace 2 tree in October. I never heard back from him in October, November, December and he thinks this is good business. Why lie to me and say you were coming out, never return any of my phone calls. $12,000 is a lot of money to end up with absolutely nothing. I see several other bad reviews. Should Of investigated his company before doing business with this guy. I'm in the process of working with legal help. If any past costumers who have been scammed by Jeff could please reach out to me with your story. I'd appreciate it. J Bachynsky

I do see many positive reviews about my farm giving us credit for having quality trees and products, keeping in contact, doing great work, honoring our warranty, going above and beyond, and more. All in all, giving a quality product and great customer service. You ordered your trees in June 2021 We came out over 1 tree that was having trouble. We established root rot and agreed to replace the tree under our warranty at 50 % even though root rot was not covered. November of 2021, we replaced the tree while you were out there the entire time except the last 20 minutes. That is when you went in and didn't answer the door or pay us, so we left. 2 more trees died of root rot, and the other 2 that died, you trimmed all branches down to the trunk and 1/4 way up to accommodate your farm animals. We still offered to help, but to replace these trees, we required prepayment from you due to last times non payment. We heard nothing back from you about the pre payment.

Installed trees that were dead What a horrible experience what a scammer this guy is installs trees and says they're warranty for a year and then makes up excuses onexcuses one after another why he can't replace them it's either the customer's fault or it's the wrong time of year to dig which is all false false or I don't have the receipt which is false I have the pictures he even says that he remembers being there I have a video of him installing it I wouldn't do business with this guy if it was the last tree company on Earth please avoid Look at the ratings he has on Angie's list it's a one for good reason poor poor poor professionalism or professionalism horrible trees

We just need the required documentation and a little patience but you would not provide any of it. Only "or else" threats. During the installation you asked us to come back that same day with more trees. Why would you order more trees if they were all dryed out from sitting on the truck for days? Trees are seasonal. We have a limited time to dig them. This is one reason why in our policy we require you to contact us immediately with any changes so we can help correct the issue. Most cases it is over or under care. We have no record of you contacting us until nearly a year later when they are in the current state. If the trees are out of stock then we have to wait until the next season to dig them. Trees are seasonal. This is another reason we require you to contact us ASAP with any changes to the trees so we can react ASAP and avoid these reviews. Trees are seasonal. We wouldn't be here if you contacted us right away. I asked for pictures of the trees several times and all you keep saying is "they are dead" This review is the first time I have seen these trees in their current state. I asked you for the receipt and all you could tell me was "It cost $5000" We asked about care and you said you watered them daily but the picture shows different. Possibly the reason you wouldn't send me pictures when I asked? When multiple trees have issues, this is not a issue from something we did but a issue with their current care. A issue we could correct if you would have contacted us and follow our guidance.

The installation was in Oct., and Nov. 2018 and went well, but 20 of the shrubs, @ $140/ea., died the next spring... I called Jeff and he asked me to send him a picture... I sent the picture and he agreed I had dead shrubs... He asked me to call him but never answered or returned my calls... I have texts from him regarding this and he doesn't return my texts... I am in the process of having my UAW attorneys file suite... almost two years and he still does not return my calls... $12,000.00 job looks like ****... There are numerous of the same complaints against Jeff...

Buyer Beware! Jeff was very polite and quick to respond and thoroughly answered all my questions during the ordering process. However, after the "3-4 weeks or possibly sooner" install date came and went with no contact from Jeff or his "schedulers", things started to fall apart with Dr O2. I called Jeff 1x/week on Friday's starting at 4 weeks past due and was promised that I would be getting scheduled soon and that the delays were due to the weather. I asked specifically why the weather was a delay as we've been having excellent weather from Sep. - early November this year. He stated that it was actually too nice and the warmer temps were causing a delay. ??? After more delays, Jeff started becoming less punctual in his response times. I wasn't pestering him as I only attempted to contact him 1x/week after he missed the original delivery time. On Tuesday November 1st, I was able to get him on the phone and he said that I was scheduled for tree delivery on Thursday November 10th, and that they would be there between 12 and 2pm. I questioned him to make sure this wouldn't change and he said they would absolutely be there unless the weather got bad. On the 10th (yesterday) I called and left him a message with instructions on where to plant the trees. He called me back after 3+ hrs at 11:54 am and left a message to return his call. I called him back at 12:28 and restated that I had flagged the tree locations and was looking forward to having them planted. At 3:45pm, because there was no sign of the trees, I called him again and asked him to either provide some type of proof that my trees were going to be delivered or to refund my Paypal payment. The weather has been excellent for the last 7+ days so that certainly couldn’t be an excuse. At 9am on Nov. 12th, I called him back again and re-iterated that I needed a response from him concerning my trees or a refund. I also sent him a text message in addition to the voicemail. He did return my call at 10:15 and I talked with him and he stated that due to equipment problems he would be refunding my money through Paypal along with several other buyers. I asked him when and he stated this morning and to look for an email confirmation. He also stated that I could dispute the charge if I wanted to. I told him that would not be good for him with Paypal and to just go ahead and issue my refund. Having used Paypal extensively in the past, I know it only takes a few minutes to issue a refund. At 3pm, my Paypal account showed that he issued payment for a full refund and that it was processing. On November 15th, I received notification from PayPal that the payment would not process due to “insufficient funds” and that they would try again in 3 business days. On November 21st, I checked PayPal and the refund transaction from Jeff was cancelled or “removed”. I initiated a Transaction Dispute through PayPal to begin the buyer protection process. At this point, I’m not holding my breath that I’ll get my money back from Jeff.

I am completely dissatisfied with them. I ordered 65 trees and they were supposed to be guaranteed for one year, but 15 to 20 are already dead. He refuses to answer our phone calls and he hasn’t honored the guarantee. He didn’t install the trees correctly so we had to have another contractor pull them out, dig a new hole, and put them in properly.

7 of your 65 trees died due to root rot. We DO NOT cover root rot, since it occurs when you over water your trees. We only cover shock. We did go ahead and bring you 10 trees to replace the 7 and you did replanted the 7 half dead trees in other locations on your property.

I had found this company on listings on craiglist. Jeff Winslow the owner took my call and answered all my questions, very polite and nice. I ordered 50 arbor vitaes, but asked him to bring 55 just in case I needed a few more. He told me the price of the tree's included installation of the tree's, but delivery would be extra because of the distance he was comming from. I agreed. They showed up as scheduled and on time the date of install, and informed me he brought 60 trees with him just in case we needed more. The tree's were exactly what I had ordered, and were healthy and beautiful trees. He had two other men with him to install. He used the auger himself to drill the preliminary holes, another man followed with a shovel. When all the holes were dug, jeff informed me we would infact have to use all 60 of the tree's from the way the holes were dug to fit the line that I wanted filled, I said that is fine I will pay for the extra tree's. This is when a third man placed the trees in the holes using a dolly, then the other man followed by hand packing the tree's in place. This took approx 5 hours. When they finished up and went to leave, I was told by Jeff to water the trees in with a sprinkler upon them leaving and he gave me watering instructions. I watered a section of the trees with a sprinkler and within 20 minutes the trees started to move and fall, I immediatly went out to help straighten the tree's the best I physically could adding more dirt to the bases and pounding the dirt in around the bases with the back of a shovel. I called Jeff immediatly and got his voicemail. The next morning I called again and he answered and told me he would be out later that day to look at them (5/10/11). Because the tree's were continually moving and falling due to the dirt being wet around them, I was constantly out there the entire next day to try and keep the tree's upright. When they arrived later that day, they walked around with a shovel pounding in the dirt for less than a half hour, and Jeff told me to call him if we had anymore problemsand that the tree's may need to be staked. I asked him to water them in again for me, but they just sprayed lightly over the surface of the dirt and left. By the weekend I had been out there everyday packing in dirt around the tree's and continued to straighten them as well as I could. By the way, I am 36 year old female that ways a whopping 120lbs, so besides my greatest efforts I could not get these trees to stay upright, and by the weekend the tree's were starting to show signs of stress. I call Jeff on Monday one week from the day they were installed, he said he would come by my house either that evening or tuesday to fix the problems, and told me that they probably needed to be staked. He never showed up or called that night or tuesday. By thursday the trees were starting to change color and I was told by a friend to have someone out immediatly or those tree's would die. I called Jeff again early thursday morning, he did not pick up his phone, I then contacted my friends for referrals to another tree installer. This new company came immediatly and told me the tree's were stressed because the dirt around them was not properly packed in around the rootball, and the rootball should have been wrapped in burlap and mine were not, also due to the height of the tree's they should have been staked no matter the location for a minimum of a year. They gave me an estimate for $1200.00 to compact, straighten, string and stake all of the 60 tree's. At this point I had not heard back from Jeff, and I retained the new contractors, as I knew my tree's were stressed and I had no choice but to midigate my damages. Jeff returned my call on Friday, at this point the other contractors had begun work on the tree's. I informed Jeff that I had to hire someone to come and fix the unfinished install, since I recieved a no call and no show from him. I also told him that I would hope he would be willing to split the $1200 with me in some way.He refused, even when I offered several solutions, and even asked if he had any solutions. He told me that his services did not include staking of the tree's, that was not part of install (this being the first time I heard this) then he told me since I hired another contractor instead of giving him more time to get to my house (he is very busy) that I had now voided my 1 year warranty. There were a few choice words said to me then he told me to never contact him again and hung up on me...... it was really quite funny. Luckily at this point it cost me some grief and more money than I wanted to spend, but I have been able to save 58 of the 60 tree's that were installed so far (cross fingers and toes as we go thru winter this year). The new contractors did a fabulous job, and I will use them again in the future, as I have alot more tree's I want to install. As for DR O2 Trees Sales he is still using pictures of my tree's (before they started falling) in his advertising (you can see my home in the backround). I would not recommend him for install, but I can honestly say that the quality of the tree's he brought was fantastic. By the way his final invoice he gave me was the company copy, not the customer copy so it lacked any contact information (i.e. the company address). I blame myself for this mistake, simply for not doing my research. October 9th 2012... I just read his response to this. I NEVER threatened to SUE this man on his voicemail, I did ask him if he would SHARE in the $1200.00 expense, and he could drop it off to my mailbox. Tree's were installed monday 5/9/11, he came back out 5/10/11 for 15 minutes, another company replanted and staked them friday 5/20/11... I gave him time to fix. By the way, if anyone is reading this that lives in Clarkston, I live on a main road, hundreds of you saw my trees falling after the install for well over a week, and a few of you actually stopped to see if you could help..... Thank you for stopping and offering your help!
Description of Work: I purchased 60 emerald arbor vitaes approx 6-7' tall, to be delivered and installed in my front yard in a strait line as a fence barrier, and came with a 1 year warranty. I should have asked these questions; Do ask: if staking and stringing of the tree's is included in price of tree and install. Do ask: what kind a tools are used in compacting the tree's once in the ground. Do ask: If they are larger tree's if the root balls are wrapped in burlap. Do ask: Are any root helping products put in at time of install. Do ask: If you are not happy with install, what are your warranty options.

Response from Dr O2 Tree Sales
I remember this job in Clarkston. We installed the arborvitae as a privacy screen. We were called back the next day to straighten up 3 or 4 trees that had started to lean and we stopped by on our way through that night to fix the problem. I then received another call a couple days later to come back and I explained that I was not in that part of the state today and it would be a couple days before I could get back over there, since we deliver and install all over the state of Michigan. The day after I told her this, I received a nasty VM saying that I owe her $1200 or, "I am taking you to court." "If you would like to avoid additional fees and court cost then drop a check made out to..... for $1200 and drop it in the mail and this will be the end of it." I contacted her to find out what was going on and I was told the same thing I heard in my VM. I did void her warranty as she had another company handling my trees just a few day after we installed them, and she did not give me time to come back to look at what we needed to do to fix this issue. There were no nasty works exchanged on my part. Thank You!
