Decks Unlimited

Very easy to work with. Listened to what I wanted and kept within budget. Very knowledgeable of the products Trex carries. I talked to several other companies and received bids for the same product. Found out that Decks Unlimited was the subcontractor for one of the big box companies. I have a familiarity with residential construction, and unlike other companies, they didn't try to BS me. Again, unlike others, did not try to up sell me. L Very pleased with their work. They worked well within my HOA constraints. Just had an issue with clean up after the work was done, but I honestly believe it was because of weather, which put them behind schedule on other jobs. Who would have thought we would have rain and snow in the same week that late in the spring? I would highly recommend them.

Not the cheapest quote I received but went with Decks Unlimited based on good reviews. Work started weeks earlier than what was estimated during quote which was good. Finished deck turned out beautiful. Had some minor issues not necessarily within the installers control. Jeff, Dave & their team stands behind their product and has resolved these issues promptly and to my satisfaction. The deck is solid construction and will be enjoyed for many years.

It went well he came and explained everything. He was friendly and patient and when we started he can tell and he knew what he was doing and I referred him to a friend mine.

Workers arrived each day on time. I found their work to be fast and efficient. The job was done in the time promised. I was very satisfied with the work and the finished product. I would hire them again and would recommend them to my friends.

It took 4 days for a return phone call. After a detailed explanation of our problem heset an appointment for 3 days later. Unfortunately he never showed or called. I went to his website and requested a call/quote for 2 days later with a specific time given on his site and again no call or appearance. We are on lock down due to Covid19 and I understand no work can be done right now, but he specifically stated initially and understood we could examine and quote outside in a non-contact matter. I didn't realize "non-contact" means something different to him apparently. If a business owner can't honor his commitment to simply provide a quote or call to explain why he didn't show and reschedule, I have to question his professionalism. These are not busy times, as no construction is allowed during this period of Covid19 shutdown. He is not the only deck specialist, nor the highest rated, in our area and a cuatomer should not have to make repeated calls to get him to show up for a quote, as he replied to others who had similar issues with this contractor You may do decent work but I'll never know because I don't need to stroke an ego by begging for a quote and having MY time wasted with no shows. My advice to potential clients is find someone else who respects his customers by timely return calls and shows up when he says he will. This guy is either too busy to be bothered or clearly doesn't care about you.

This contractor did not have the common courtesy and professionalism to even return my initial phone call, after I left a clear, detailed message. Why advertise one’s services in Angie’s List if you are not going to return phone calls from potential customers. This was a big waste of time.

Initial appointment was very good. On time, very professional and a quick quote. The company gave me updates as the permit and MISSDIG process went along. Once the work was started, they stayed with the job until the end. And the end product is gorgeous. Stacy at the office was great - very helpful.

Afterwords, they left a large gap between our fence and the porch. They offered to come and fix the fence, however after having three people come out and measure it, we never got a quote.

Crews were highly efficient...both take down and rebuild..very professional workmanship..Jeff did a great job doing the entranceways to gates and he suggested post lights which we so enjoy! Follow through with office staff was immediately handled! We have already given this business name to neighbor and friend! Others have already commented how beautiful our new deck is! Outstanding workmanship and price! A plus!!

It went great! The owner Jeff was on time and very professional. He answered all of our questions and gave us a great price. The process went very smoothly and the end result was great. His entire team always got back to me in a timely manner and was always on time. I would hire Decks Unlimited again and I have already referred some of my friends to them. You will not be disappointed. They do wonderful work for a great price.

Leaving out how Lowes dropped the ball on timing and professionalism. BBD joined in on doing just a spectacularly bad job. First, they missed their appointment time window, so the next time they came I had to take off time from work because electricity on the outside of the house was not working (admittedly the electricity was bad but i was home during the original time slot and could have solved this problem for them). From there it was installed with complete disregard to the plans discussed. our fence was not attached to the neighbors, leaving a 6 inch gap and an extra fence post for no reason. They told us that some cities do not allow them to connect the fence, which was not the case in our city, and that was their fault. The chain link on the on the far side of the fence was not even touching the ground. They had installed it with again 6 inches under neath it and not enough support so the fence pulled and pushed away at the bottom so much our dogs (40 and 50lbs labs) could just walk out when ever they felt like. They also left a pile of cement in my yard and scrap metal from their work on the fence all over the place. They also where not pleasant to deal with and hard to get a hold of for fixes. The Good: They sent someone who knew how to install a fence out and he pulled out the post next to my neighbors fence and connected them as he was supposed to. Next he lowed the fence on the far side so it was actually touching the ground and gave us some extra material to create "spikes" to hold the bottom of the fence down until the grass grew up a bit. They also found after the land survey was done that my neighbor had built on my land and brought it to my attention so I could deal with that and get the fence installed. The fence is installed, and it is working fine. I spent an entire Saturday digging up the cement they left on my lawn and replanting grass, we spent Sunday picking up all of the metal after my dog brought me some she found. Take it or leave it, but I will always check to make sure these people do not work on my projects ever again.

From date of contract to completion of deck was approx 10 months, I went through a lot of no shows,cancellations, workers show up and work a couple hours and leave, (with no cleanup) proper permits not pulled,city inspections not ordered,not meeting code and modifications needed to meet city code which meant pulling up deck boards to satisfy city inspector, unreturned phone calls and text messages. I signed the contract in July or August 2013 and work did not start until winter. Material was left on my lawn all winter and in April 2014 I called my lawn service to come and remove the debris and clean up my lawn. I asked owner to reimburse me for my lawn service cleanup and he did comply; I did need lawn restoration due to all the damage from material and debris left on my lawn for so long, which I personally paid for and hired lawn service to do the work. When I measured the completed deck, it is actually somewhat smaller than I contracted for, I had the owner also verify measurement. I did not want to pull up the deck as I was exhausted When the owner calculated material needed, he over calculated and I paid for material that I did not need. I was promised that he would pick the material up that was left in my driveway and garage for so many months and reimburse me;however, this is August 19,2014 and the material still sits in my garage, I disposed of the material in my driveway, no return phone calls from owner since he left in May,2014. When I did manage to speak to the owner during the building process, he would always apologize profusely, promise to improve and I would become optimistic but nothing ever changed. It was a very frustrating experience. It brings me no pleasure in having to write this report as I am not a vindictive person but since I am a member of Angie's list, I feel that it is my obligation to share my experience
