One of the rudest and most unprofessional contractors I have ever dealt with. Dennis replaced my furnace, and some time later, another contractor pointed out that he had tied in the water heater venting incorrectly, a potentially dangerous situation but a simple fix. It probably would have taken Dennis about 2 hours and maybe $40 in materials to fix his mistake. So I called him and asked if he could do the annual furnace inspection, and while he was at it, could he please take a look at the water heater venting. I was glad to pay him for the inspection, obviously, and I had hoped that while he was out, he could fix the water heater venting at no cost. He immediately got angry and confrontational about the venting, saying he didn't appreciate being accused of making a mistake, etc. etc. He agreed to come out, but said it had to be at 10:30 AM the following day, no other time. The house is a rental property and I have to clear any appointments with my tenants, so making appointments on such short notice is difficult. I told him I would do my best. My tenants were not able to make 10:30 AM work, so I called Dennis to reschedule. He again became irate, telling me "You'd better get your tenants on the phone and tell them this isn't how it works." I don't need that kind of abuse, so I eventually hired another contractor to fix his mistake. It cost me a little money, but it was better than trying to deal with him. I wouldn't recommend hiring him for anything.

They came out to service the furnace. They tried to put in a part that wasn't made for my furnace. It was too big. It was very shady, and my furnace became very louder than it was. He tried to tell me it wasn't. He kind of stormed out. His partner asked what he was going to do and he said he was leaving. His partner confessed it was the wrong part, and he went down and got the part and left. He sent someone else out to finish the work. I asked about the warranty. The guy didn't know. I was the only one here and the original guy was aggressive in his stance and his voice. I would not recommend him.

They did the job to spec though its almost impossible to put a filter in and its an oddball size filter. He pressed me not to get a permit or inspection which I had to press to have done and he passed his bi-yearly costs of city licensing to me. For someone who does so much work in Ferndale I would expect him to keep up his licensing and not pass on those costs to customers. Also I had notes left on building materials boxes that were derogatory of the work being done on the house. I assume they were left by his help but regardless very unprofessional. Wouldn't take credit cards and said he preferred cash.
