Matt repaired our badly spalling chimney in 2021, including new chimney caps. This year we noticed one of the caps was broken and crumbling. We contacted Matt and he came out and replaced free of charge! Excellent work and customer service. Highly recommend.

Estimate did not seem thorough for what we were asking to have done. Took a long time to set something up. He was possibly very busy, but just felt really out of the loop.

The work went well and I am very pleased with the final product.
Description of Work: Matt took the loose stone off of my chimney, meshed the surface and re-stoned the area, as well adding a cement crown to keep water from causing the same type of damage in the future. As he worked he discovered that some of the stone was well secured to the chimney and did not need to be replaced. He worked around this area matching the new stone to the old stone. Because he needed less stone and there was less labor he adjusted the quoted price to reflect this development. He cleaned up the work area every day which I really appreciated. The work was completed in a timely manner and looks great. I would recommend Matt to anyone needing stone work.

It took several days to complete the job and remove their scaffolding due to wind and rain, but it looks real good, with the new brick and mortar being a very good match to the original. I'm, so far, very happy with the work!
Description of Work: Replaced 8 courses of spalled bricks and added 4" crown to fireplace chimney. They also replaced 1 course of brick and added a precast crown and flue barrier, and caulked the flashing and sides to the furnace chimney. Approximately 12 spalled brick were replaced on the exterior of the house, as well. Fired brick was used to replace the "old brick" in the repair to reduce future spalling.

Matt Walsh was very personable, friendly and flexible in being able to come to the house for the estimate and actual work. He traveled about 30 miles to do the work and arrived when he said he would. He kept me updated and was accurate that the job would take two days. There were no problems. He and his worker cleaned up after they were done. He was able to match the brick type so close even though the chimney has to be over 30 years old. I would definitely recommend Walsh masonry for this type of work.
Description of Work: The chimney needed 2 new flue linings and the top 15 courses of bricks replaced. He added a new cement crown and hauled away our old crumbling chimney bricks.

Chimney crown was cracked and falling off. Chimney had cracked brick and mortar joints in top eight courses of brick. Mr. Walsh gave me a reasonable estimate to replace the crown and tear down and rebuild top of chimney. He explained the problems with matching old brick and the different size of modern brick (1/2" shorter). Work was weather dependent but should be able to start within two weeks. Mr Walsh called before starting the work to make sure the day he wanted to do the work was convenient for us. He found a perfect brick match for color and texture. Removed crown and tore down portions of chimney with cracked brick and mortar joints. Rebuilt the chimney with new brick and placed a new concrete crown. During the process, he had to remove a few more brick then originally anticipated and replaced the top section of clay flue liner. This extra work was done for the original price. The job was started within the two week time frame, and completed in one day. All debris was cleaned up and hauled away. When they left you could not tell there had been a major reconstruction project in the yard. Excellent workmanship, and very professional. I would definitely recommend.
