Description of Work: This provider serviced our oil furnace for a number of years but were not knowledgable or qualified to work on oil furnaces. While the furnace was too big for the house, they were not properly cleaning it (it was filthy inside) and they installed an over-sized nozzle that was not even rated for the furnace, running it wide open - which resulted in the heat exchanger blowing out. The nozzles intended for use in the furnace were listed right on the front of the furnace, so there was really no excuse for using an enormous nozzle and who knows how long they were doing it (I saved the nozzle as a memento). The hole in furnace was about a foot wide. When it blew up, the guy shut me down in February and told me I'd have to buy a new furnace. I said the exchanger was warranted and he said, we don't do replacements, you'll have to buy another one. I didn't have a job and couldn't so ended up having to pay money to fix it. This was Craig's partner or worker but both Craig and this other guy had serviced it. I called Craig and he said they did, in fact, replace heat exchangers but I decided to go with another company as clearly, they don't know how to work on oil furnaces (or read nozzle sizes off of an obvious label). The company I hired pointed out the nozzle issue. Would not use this company again. They cost me a lot of money. The date is approximate.

 + -1 moreHe recommended a lot of changes to my boiler set up that were not necessary. Such as re-piping. This was a little weird, as well as the fact that since the maintenance occurred, my boiler has not been working properly. The thermostat is off for both the main floor and the upstairs radiant heat. It is always warmer than the setting. I don't understand why my house is overheating after simply having routine maintenance that should have cleared up or identified any real issues, not created new ones. I had another company come out to diagnose the issue and they could not figure it out.
Description of Work: Checking the boiler to make sure it was working and cleaned it for winter maintenance.
