IThe switch on my wife's handicapped walk in tub failed after 19 months in service. She needs to use this bath and its whirlpool jets to relieve her overall body pain at least ever other day. Of course the switch failed on Sunday, 9/1/2013 during Labor Day weekend. I isolated the problem and bypassed the switch so she could continue her treatments on schedule. The bypass was only a temporary fix and we had no idea how it would last before total failure occurred. On Tuesday 9/4/2013 I contacted the local dealer of the tub to arrange permanent repair. I knew the swich was out of warrany (12 months) and fully expected to pay for the repair but I did need it promptly. Luxury Bath of Flint, 1330 E. Hemphill Road, Burton, MI 48529 gave me a run a around for two days, then told me they would give me no information of support nor the name of any repairmen they used. Their reason was that the tub had been invoiced to our builder, State Building Company of Davison, MI to installed the tube after first removing a 5 by 7 foot whirlpool tube and rebuilding the floor. When we were buying the tube they had no trouble showing it nor dealing with State just now when at llitle no cost to them customer service was necessary. They suggested I call the manufacturer World Spa in Miami. They were even less helpful, took my message and never called back. My wife and I started looking for spa repair on the internet and phone books and found his listing. A favorable lising at BBB was even better. We called and left a message on 9/4 and he got back to us on 9/5. He said he didn't normally do medical tubs because of access problems but listened to our story and the fact I promised him easy access and he agreed to come 9/11 and take a look. I had everything opened up, he came, looked, had another switch on the truck, we got everything running again in about 15 minutes. He realized the biggest difference between a hot tub and a walk in tube is a door with a big gasket.
