Thornton & Grooms Heating, Cooling, & Plumbing

Have always used these guys and they have done good work. So when I had a kitchen sink clog they were the ones I went to. Nice guy came out unclogged the sink. Later went to basement and water and grossness all over the wall and ceiling. Pipe broke when cleaned. Not happy but Stuff happeneds. I called immediately told the gentleman what happened he said the soonest they could come out was 3 days later but someone wouldy be calling me. Next day nothing. I called back late afternoon was told I had to talk to someone who handled that. She didn’t answer left a message. Never heard from anyone. Got a text saying they would be there Saturday. Which I cancelled! And had to hire someone else. A job that was supposed to cost me $100 ended up being $1800. Again I understand that things happened but to not to reach out on a problem that was caused by your company is inexcusable in my opinion and I will never use them or recommend them to anyone in the future.

To say that I am disappointed in Thornton and Grooms is putting it mildly. They are a deceptive company who are only focused on maximizing the bottom line and talking the talk about being the 'professionals.' I had them recently repair a sump pump for me. During the initial estimate, they never disclosed possible code violations or even that a permit would need to be pulled. During the actual installation of the replacement, they finally let me know that not only did they already pull a permit that day, but that this job would not pass inspection. When I asked why they moved forward with the work knowing that this would ultimately result in problems, they didn't have an answer for me. I tried to resolve this over the phone and was just told to 'let it fail' and they would help me out. Well, it did fail, but they haven't helped me out. Now I'm stuck redoing the same job I already paid Thornton and Grooms for.

Absolutely trash and scam. I shifted to their service for their competitive maintenance plan. They dropped the ball from day one. I scheduled for an appointment for 8 am, but they only came 8 pm, which was too late that I had to instead refuse the work. Then, I called in for a full refund of their membership. They said they would process it and the fund would be back after a few business days. However, I waited for A MONTH and nothing refunded. They just took my money and doing no work. Never ever be fooled by their competitive pricing. If there's no service behind it, the pricing is just nothing.

Thornton & Grooms is the best! Nick came out today and cleaned out my drain, very professional, nice and explained everything to me. I highly recommend this company I've used them many times over the years also for my HVAC system as well.

He wore a mask, he put slippers on his shoes to be cautious. He told us that they could patch the item. But it was gonna happen again, so he recommended for us to buy a new one. He was professional and easy to work with

It went well. Matt changed the filter on the furnace for me, gave it a tuneup and reconnected my humidifier to my furnace. It has helped immensely. Thanks again to Matt for his help. I've had great luck with all of the technicians from Thornton & Grooms.

My appointment went very well, the service tech was extremely knowledgeable about the problem with my furnace and explained what options I had and answered all of my questions. The problem was solved, and my furnace is back to 100% efficiency. I won't hesitate to call on them again when needed.

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY AND MAKE SURE YOU ARE WATCHING THEM OR HAVE YOUR SECURITY CAMERA ON - DO NOT LET JORDAN KENNARD IN YOUR HOME. From the time this Tech Jordan got to my house he was only interested in making a sale on a new furnace and it was so obvious. I suggested I turn the furnace on so he can hear the furnace running but he did not want it on. During his service call he sounded more like the want to be "Salesperson of the Month" as he pushed for me to make an appointment for a replacement only after his short visit that make the problem worst. I called because there was an odd humming sound coming from area of the inducer fan (a part the cost about $300 on high end) that was louder than normal. Although the furnace was 14 years old it was cleaned every year and running good. During the Tech's visit he made a so-called inspection by taking apart the blower in other units without telling me what he would be doing or before him hearing the furnace. I had a death in my family and was on the phone upstairs when the Tech called me to tell me his assessment and the problems. He said what you probably was hearing (because he purposely did not run the furnace in front of me in the beginning) the inducer fan motor and blower ( which was not making any odd sounds until he left ), then he went into of technical verbiage about ambs, oil, blower after he wiped an area of blower saying it was leaking but nothing was on his hand after he attempted to show me, but it would cost $1500 for repairs but he suggested to get a new furnace that will cost between $4,500-6,000 before making repairs and this was repeated. After he explained and then when back to assemble the parts, I heard banging and other noises, but I am glad I had my cameras on because after he got done there were clanging sounds and dry grinding noises coming from the furnace that were not there prior. I hope this Tech didn't think I would just go upstairs for an 1/2 hour without watching him. Mr. Super Salesman was saying just about anything to get me to make a replacement appointment. He also said people are getting away from Carrier Furnace because it's not a good manufacture anymore (NOT TRUE it's still in the Top 5 with Lenox), He also said MasterCraft, the company who last cleaned my furnace was not a good company and had real bad ratings (which on some site they have the same or better ratings than Thornton and Grooms). This person was so Salesy as again his focus was me getting a new furnace, he never explained the breakdown of the parts and labor and it was obvious HE WAS ON COMMISSION. I believe this company operates like a big SCAM - you may get suckered into buying a membership for $149 because of the FREE SERVICE CALLS and they could perform an inspection without telling what they're doing. REMEMBER beware- and watch or have a camera on and I can't wait to see Mr. Kennard's reaction......Stay Tuned. Also see pictures of the blower after the reassemble because it was in perfect shape prior. Also pay attention of the reviews and comments, especially the Indeed reviews and comments from former employees so you can make your own decision to use this company.......GOOD LUCK

Technician was very good, he replaced part, my A/C system started working, but he quoted me another $7,000+ for other parts he said were bad. I had a 2nd opinion, later that week, my system is fine. Not sure why the $7k quote,, but they also were trying to get me to buy a new A/C system. Thought they were overpriced and were trying to sell me items I did not need.

Unfortunately as nice and as clean as they are, I cannot recommend them. They did not tell me when I scheduled, that removing and replacing the toilet when snaking is extra. When they told me at the appt the gentlemen worked out a lower cost, which I appreciate, hence the 2 instead of a 1. He snaked twice to the street he said, but it only helped a little. Another gentleman came later with a camera to try to find the problem. He couldn't get more than 8 feet with it. Perhaps he should have had a more effective camera, if one exists, that can at least go as far as snakes can. He told me that the first man should have told me that there was a problem with the flange. He then went under the house and came back with a $5000 estimate (including the snaking). It including replacing some pipes and a water pressure clean out. I said no. I had another plumber come later and they snaked it with a much more industrial snake. It works fine. With the new plumber we took the toilet off and put it on, and it was only $125. Everything is working fine now. We will have them come out to do an estimate for any other work that needs to be done at a later time, but the initial numbers they gave me were much lower priced.

He did a great job. I had to call him back again as we found out someone in the house was flushing q-tips. He was very responsive and made sure everything was okay and fixed. They even sent a picture of the gentleman who was coming out. I would definitely hire them again.
