Description of Work: Originally called for a general furnace inspection and cleaning at $89.99. I did end up purchasing their duo care package which includes an A/C inspection and cleaning. I've used the company in the past and have found their services to be exemplary. This visit was equally professional and thorough. We received a heads up call prior to his arrival. The time was within our window.

Description of Work: This was a few years ago. It was after the brothers bought out the original owners of this firm.. There were 3 different instances, One where they told me I had to replace a couple items at a cost of about $700.00(fixed for pennies). Another time they quoted a cost of over $10 - 12 thousand dollars. I got it done for $2400 (water heater system). A third time a ridiculous $30,000 for a system to replace a leak and move an outside water spicket. I got the job done for about $600.00 where they did not have to tear up ceilings and kept the same outside spicket location. I talked to the owners, one brother said he was surprised I gave them 3 times to not mess up. Please do not use these frauds.

Description of Work: I used them over a few years. The costs were always very very high and a number of the repairs were not done right the first time. One failure to fix a leak properly the first time required a terrazzo floor to torn up a second time.

Description of Work: I had my old water heater replaced with a tankless unit. T&G staff were very knowledgeable, gave me plenty of information to help me make a decision, communicated well about the appointment, came on time, kept the house clean, installed the unit in the promised time frame, and left us with a great functioning new water heater. T&G is more expensive than others, however given the quality and reliability, it is worth it.

Description of Work: Show up 5 hours late, 59 dollars for him to walk around and then say 129 dollars to do a deep diagnosis of the air conditioner. 30 minutes later need to replace the old wires. Hour later still not working oh now it's the main part of the unit and 2500 dollars. Showed him the door. WASTE OF TIME!

Description of Work: Bill Richards and Guy did a great job on installing a new sump pump and clearing a slow draining shower. They did and excellent job and were very professional.

Description of Work: I belong to the protection plan so this was a furnice and humidifier check. Andy explained exactly what he would be doing on this visit and approximantly how long it would take. Andy was prompt, curteous and a call was made to me to let me know he was on his way to my home before he arrived. I highly recommend Thornton and Grooms. I have always been satisfied with their service,

Description of Work: Brian M is wonderful! He installed a new inducer motor assembly, under warranty from the manufacturer.

Description of Work: I had asked them to come out and give me an estimate for doing some work....their prices were 3x higher then then next highest quote. Was told that while they were out there they should be able to address some of the issues...they did not. On the gas line installation....they quoted me close to $1,000 using flexible pipe which would have not been a pretty job...I got the work done for $350 with Solid Pipe and the install looks very clean on the water heater leaking.....wanted to charge me over $600.....got it fixed for $200 on outside faucet replacement.....wanted to charge me $550....was quoted $250.....have not pulled trigger on that one yet, and then they charged me for the quotes....$90

Description of Work: They serviced my furnace and air conditioning system. The furnace service went well, but with the air conditioner, they had to come back since it broke a week later. They charged me for another trip charge and diagnostic charge. They also told me then that it would cost more to fix the problem. I ended up using my home warranty insurance service.

Description of Work: I have a service agreement with Thornton and Grooms. They have serviced my air conditioner, furnace and treated the clay sewer pipe to ensure no roots had gotten in. Most recently, I discovered water pooled around the base of my furnace. I called on a Saturday afternoon and they were at my house within 10 minutes. Their technician determined that the pump that elimates condensation from the furnace and the humidifier had failed after 14 years. He was able to replace the pump on the spot. 1.5 hours after discovering the problem, it was solved.
