I called late in the afternoon on Monday and the technician was out late Tuesday morning. He was very pleasant, professional and knowledgeable. He diagnosed and repaired the dryer leaving the area clean and everything nicely reinstalled. I am very pleased and would definitely use them again.

The part came 2 days later with a total repair cost of ~$350. Knowing that I could have bought a new dishwasher for not much more than $500 I pressed the technician whether there was anything else he could see wrong with the unit and whether the overheating had damaged any other parts. He assured me everything else looked ok so I had him proceed with the repair. (remember that had I not, they would have charged me $100 for the visit and diagnosis alone). That repair was on 8/13. Flash forward to 8/17 and after only a half a dozen dishwasher runs after the initial repair, the dishwasher is now leaking water all over the kitchen floor while running and we called them for follow up repair. The same technician was able to come back out the following day and was able to diagnose and fix the problem for no additional charge. I must say that I was prepared to write a much more negative review had they not been so helpful in coming back out to repair what seems to be a issue that may have been overlooked related to the initial problem. Therefore I give them high marks for professionalism in completing the job without charging more.
Description of Work: Dishwasher heating element overheated and would not shut off. Service was prompt as they were able to come the same day as I called. Technician diagnosed it as a problem with the circuit board and that it needed to be replaced. Be wary as they charge a $60 visit fee and a $40 diagnosis fee up front. However, the $60 is counted towards your repair if you choose to have it repaired. Provider returned a week later as dishwasher was now flooding kitchen when running. Technician came back one day later and diagnosed the problem as a leaking seal which was replaced at no additional charge.

The technician did a fair job finding the issue and correcting it. He, of course, said the housing unit was warped and should be replaced. I had a hard time believing that considering the dryer is only 2 years old and only started making the noise after moving the dryer to clean behind it, which I explained to the technician. The part he suggested would have cost almost $300. The companies service call policy waives the service call fee if you have them service based on their recommendation (thus the $300 part) which I personally didn't believe was needed.
Description of Work: Dryer was making a scraping noise, drum had become unbalanced and was scraping the housing unit. Technician fixed the issue.

I called Sands Appliance Service because my washer stopped pumping water out. I suspected the lid lock mechanism was broken, and Scott, the repairman they sent out, confirmed that. He fixed it in a matter of minutes and didn't try to talk me into any other unneeded repairs. I was very happy with the service and would recommend them to anyone for washer/dryer issues. They also do kitchen appliances.

The technician came on time. However, he charged me for $198.80 for just replacing the broken water line. Below is the break down: Diagnosis: $40 Parts(water line): $30 Tax: $1.8 Labor: 127 (for only 15 minutes). This is absurd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Equivelent to $$500/hour!!!!

Great experience with Sands. I've used them a few times on my home and a rental property. My family and friends use them as well and have had good experiences. They have always been on time and very clear about the options we have. The repairmen are knowledgable and polite. This particular instance was a noisy dryer in my rental property. They came out the next day and fixed it quickly, they also performed some long overdue maintenance on the dryer. Will continue to use Sands for all of my appliance repairs.

Overall I could not be happier.
Description of Work: Needed service on our washing machine, and it was a Saturday and they were able to come to the house in a couple of hours, awesome. The serviceman was prompt, assessed the problem, explained the situation to me and gave me a choice of two options. I chose not to replace a part and had him repair what was there and I was back washing clothes as soon as he left and still have not had any problems.

Serviceman came out promptly and did diagnostic evaluation which he says showed that "everything checked out OK" except for burner coil in the upper (small) oven. Did not have that in stock, but came out 2 days later and replaced. Total $260. Error message re-appeared 3 days later. I was already debating whether to replace range or repair and decided to go with Sands due to multiple great reviews. Figured they'd be the type to fix it right the first time. Frustrating to have spent the money and end up with the same problem I began with.

Overall the experience was okay. I did think they were too expensive though. Didn't really click with the technician either. We Just moved into this house about 10 days ago so a lot if stuff is still in boxes including my printer. Therefore I couldn't print out the Angieslist coupon which I explained over the phone at the time I made the appointment. Anyway, they gave me a hard time about printing the coupon even though I logged in and pulled it up on my phone. The technician kept asking me about cash. He said that they offered a discount for paying cash. Then he asked me if I was old enough to get their "Senior" discount. Not sure ifwhere he wassaid being funny or what. Though that comment was offensive, I called their offices and after keeping me on hold for a good while, they finally agreed to let me use the coupon. They told me to write it out on a piece of paper and sign it.

The service went fine. Technician said that the dishwasher design has issues with removing food debris and said the only way to ensure that the dishes would clean would be to rinse them through before placing in the dishwasher. Also using a dishwasher cleaning agent regularly would help.

The broiler element in our range burned out. I called for service at 8:00 am and the repairman (Scott) was on site within 2 hours. Although they didn't have the part on the truck, they went to some trouble procure it and install it the next day - in the morning at my request - since I had a houseful of company on the way. We decided to have the other (oven) element replaced at the same time as a preemptive strike. He had this part on the truck and completed the job quickly. Oh, and no complaints while I took 5 minutes to clean behind the stove while he had it pulled out! I paid cash to save 10%. I sense that they charge a little more, but their responsiveness was worth every penny.

I was very impressed with the young mans demeanor and knowledge of repairs needed. I have clear documentation of what was done and how much each step cost. This was an excellent experience and I would use this company again.
Description of Work: A very polite, clean and friendly repair man came to my home, explained all fees and charges for possible repair before starting repair on my dryer. Was very well versed in taking apart my dryer and keeping me informed of his progress step by step . He checked all possible problem areas until he found the faulty thermostats, explaining step by step what he was doing, and proceeded to replace them. He cleaned out the dryer and put it back together and cleaned up his left over things..

My Bosch dishwasher was filling up with water but would not wash. The technician, Randy, checked all the components and found the main wash pump was bound. He was able to free up whatever caused the pump to stop (possibly some food particle). Since then, the dishwasher is back to it's normal self - washing my dishes beautifully! He also fixed the loose handle on the door. Randy was a delight to have service my dishwasher - very professional and helpful with my many questions. Overall - my experience was excellent.

I did not have work done by this company. I called them to fix the heating element on my 30 year old Sear's Kenmore dryer. The women answering the phone explained that there was a $75 service fee and $35 diagnostic fee. The service fee would be deducted if the appliance was repaired by them. However, not knowing if the dryer could be fixed,I was told that I would still have to pay $110.00 for them to come out to my house even if the dryer could not be repaired.

Description of Work: I received a phone call approximately 15 minutes before technician (Scott )was due to arrive, he arrived on time, surmised the situation, informed me what he intended to do to hook up my new gas dryer and proceeded to do so. He had all of the necessary parts with him and was done in about an hour. He even tested the dryer and made me aware of the strange smell that was present but assured me that was normal in this situation.
