Kitchen Master created a design, a schedule and stuck to that schedule fairly closely. Workers are competent, punctual and work. There's not a lot of chit-chat going on, or smoke breaks so they make progress!

It is not done yet; we are undergoing a major kitchen remodel, including removing all old cabinets, moving plumbing, electrical and gas and changing some walls. We were told the project would be completed in about four weeks and after 3 weeks, most of the work is done and on schedule to be completed as promised. They provide contacts to help with all aspects of the job and we found the prices of their contacts to be very competitive. Kitchen Master was not the cheapest option, but they also don't to do cheap work. They have been very professional and for they work they are doing in the time frame they are doing it, they are worth the investment.

I started with Kitchen Master in July of 2015. I have Pioneer Cabinetry and wanted to make a few changes without installing all new cabinets. They referred me to Kitchen Master. KM did some drawings. We decided what we wanted done and they referred us to several vendors to pick our materials. They also included 3 hours with their designer. While I had already picked most of what I wanted, she confirmed the overall look and offered a couple suggestions that were helpful. We signed our contract in December with an end of April install date. I will say the vendors they recommended were very helpful and all companies I would work with again. Especially Witbeck Appliance. Our job was supposed to take 2 weeks, but we decided to do the demo ourselves which was supposed to lop off a day or two. Prior to removing all of our appliances, countertops, sink etc I touched base with KM to make sure we were still on track. I was told we were. Then I touched base with their countertop guy to make sure the timing of measuring was coordinated. He said he could not come out for two weeks. So I called KM to see if we should postpone the job and they assured me the countertop guy was wrong and would be out on Tuesday as scheduled. So we removed everything from our kitchen on Sunday. Guess what? Countertop guy did not measure for two weeks. So in the time frame that our job was supposed to be done, almost nothing was done. We had no appliances, no counters, no sink. It was horribly inconvenient and could have been easily avoided by postponing the job. I called, texted or emailed the "project manager" almost daily. I either got incorrect response, delayed response or no response. Lots of excuses including that he was on vacation. You would think he would tell the client and provide the name of someone else to contact. One of my cabinets came in the wrong size and they installed it anyway. When I tried to figure out a fix with the carpenter he yelled at me, told me to fix it myself and stormed out of my house. They also installed warped crown molding. There were a few other small things. It seemed like they installed things they knew were wrong in hopes we wouldn't notice then got mad when we did. There were issues with the tile backsplash and it had to be redone a couple times. While I understand that things happen, the lack of attention and communication from the project manager, workers not showing up and things not getting done when they were supposed to led to complete distrust of KM and lots of frustration. We didn't want to go home at night see that either nothing was done, or what was done was not 100% right. After 4 weeks and a day of several calls and texts with no response as to when anything would be fixed or finished, I called the office in total frustration. I was told the lack of communication from the project manager is common. In fact, later some of the guys working said he doesn't call them back either. The woman in the office was super helpful, sent out a great guy that agreed with me on everything that needed to be fixed and finished, and everything was ordered. Job was supposed to start 4/25 and be complete by 5/6. The kitchen was operational by 5/27 and complete 8/8. Not quite what we expected. I know a good plumber and a good electrician and a good carpenter. I could have hired people to do the work, managed them myself and paid less money. However, I hired KM and paid a premium to have a manager so the job would be done on time and seamless for us. Ha. That is definitely not what we got. We were supposed to have a meeting with the project manager about issues with the tile backsplash, but the owner came instead. He was able to see some of the issues and we were able to communicate our frustration with the process. In the end, thankfully, they fixed everything and the kitchen turned out exactly as we hoped. It looks beautiful and the final quality of the work is good. Unfortunately it was a very miserable three months getting there.
Description of Work: Renovate kitchen. Reconfigure some cabinets. Install countertops, sink, faucet, tile backsplash. Also install new countertops, sinks and faucets in two bathrooms.

We began talking to Kitchen Master in March 2015. We agreed on the contract and paid a deposit in April 2015. They said they were booked up and would not be able to begin the project until August 24th. We met with the designer on June 15th to pick out tile, finalize cabinet selections, etc. Everything seemed fine and the demolition was done in one day as scheduled. After that, we discovered the tile was not ordered until early July and that the tile for the shower floor was on back order for a couple of weeks. The plumbers didn't adjust the existing plumbing correctly and the carpenter cut holes in the cabinet to accommodate the improper plumbing. The cabinet was installed before the final floor tile trim was done. The quartz cap on the half wall for the shower was installed with a one inch gap against the wall and had to be re-done. It was discovered that the fan was not vented before the drywall was installed. The cabinet had to be moved so the plumbing could be placed in the proper location. Overall the communication as to scheduling and follow-up was non-existent. We were told up front that someone, the sales person or the job foreman, would be on-site daily to monitor the progress of the work. That did not happen and when the job foreman showed a couple of times he spent his time on the front lawn talking on the phone. There was no quality control provided by Kitchen Master and all required re-work and follow up was initiated by us. The initial quality of the work done by the "craftsmen" (plumbers, electricians, drywall and tile installers) was poor and there was much re-work done to bring the quality of the finished product to an acceptable level. Initially we were told the job would be done in 3-4 weeks. The final visit by the carpenter to install the cabinet hardware was on October 28th during the tenth week. Overall, we were extremely disappointed in the lack of attention to this job displayed by Kitchen Master. We would certainly not recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: The contract was for removal of all existing fixtures and installation of new fixtures, cabinet, including a tiled shower instead of a bathtub.

Description of Work: Nothing. They never returned calls for an estimate for a small kitchen project. The odd thing is that we have used them for a bathroom remodel not one year before and they were fantastic. We went with another company for the kitchen project because we felt ignored even though we had spent a great dal of money with Kitchenmaster in the recent past.

The same salesman who handled our bath project was contacted. He came for a visit to hear about the kitchne project we are planning. Then, nothing. No calls back with estimates. Nothing. I waited a week and called their office. The receptionist said she was surprised and passed on messages for him to get back to us to move the project forward. Then, nothing. He never called back. So i waited a week called the office again....still nothing. We have decided to move on to another contractor. Surprised at this lack of response, however, moving on.
Description of Work: We contacted KitchenMaster to do a project in our kitchen. I called them because they had done an excellent job on our master bath and I was certain that I would get the same quality of work for this project.

The entire process went smoothly except Kitchen Master promised us the services of a designer. When called to make the appointment for in home consultation, their designer was not available for any appointments convenient to us, the homeowners. She seemed quite indifferent to the idea of helping us with the design. So my husband and I put our heads together, came up with our own design and selected the materials. Kitchen Master completed our design just as we envisioned it! It is a lovely shower stall that was built with a great attention to detail. The result is exactly what we wanted.
Description of Work: We replaced the builder fiberglass shower stall in the master bath with a custom built tile shower with European glas shower doors. Also replaced laminate counter tops with granite and undermount sinks.

The project went well - they provided a good shower design and ideas for tile work. Asked for a seat in the shower and they created a nice tiled seat in corner. Also a shampoo shelf. Only problem was celing fan was initially vented through the front wall of the house but that was quickly corrected.
Description of Work: Bath remodel: Replaced old shower and dropped ceiling. Installed new lights and celing fan.

I would first like to begin by addressing the report that gave Kitchen Master an F. It no doubt sounds to me like this person has a personal vendetta he's dealing with. Especially when all other reports are coming in with exceptional reviews. It's a shame that someone would do this out of hate. It's my hope that homeowners who are in the market for any type of Remodeling project take this into consideration. I would hate to see them not hire Kitchen Master because of one obvious troubled situation. My husband and I were referred to Kitchen Master from several neighbors in our subdivision. Not only did we hear how great Ken (the owner) and his staff were to work with; we were able to see the finished projects. We were very impressed. Every staff member we dealt with was professional and helpful. Ken took good care of us as far as letting us know what to expect from start to finish. We kept in close contact with the office staff. Any time we had questions they were great and very timely on getting the answers. The contractors, were friendly, hardworking and very knowledgable. We were amazed by the turnout of our project, due to the fact that we added the powder room and foyer during the middle of construction. Our entire project was completed within the time frame Ken initially gave us. We have referred Kitchen Master several times and will continue to do so. We've even received several gift certificates for Andiamo's from Kitchen Master for referrring clients. Thanks again to Ken and his staff. Kitchen Master your awesome!!!!
Description of Work: Initially my contract was to fully Remodel our Kitchen. Once the work began, we decided to add on the Powder Room and Foyer.
Kitchen Master could not have been any less professional in the completion or follow-up of their services. I issued a complaint with the Michigan Better Business Bureau (Case #5991450) that was never resolved. They are not an accredited business with the MIchigan Better Business Bureau. A summary of their services included the following: They failed to meet the schedule and show up for work on time. They were more concerned with collecting the money first before the work was completed to our satisfaction and once they receieved their money the follow up service went from minimal to non existant. The work that they completed was of poor quality. We have cracks in teh grannite countertop and leaks around the sink that were never resolved. They took no ownership for the subcontractors that they utilized and had more excuses than solutions. They encouraged us not to pull permits for the work that was completed. The personnel they utilized were not professional in their conduct and they showed up in no condition to work and procedded to share stories of a personal nature that were inappropriate, They also were unprofeesional in spreading inaccurate and unsubsatntiated rumors about the relationship between my wife and one of their workers. They ignored our complaints and issued once they had our money and moved on to their next victims. They failed to resolve the complaint I issued with the Michigan Better Business Bureau but they made several excuses and promises that were never fulfilled. I would never use them again and I would be happy to relay in detail our poor experience with Kitchen Master with anyone who would be contemplating using their services.
Description of Work: In July of 2007 my wife and I entered into an agreement with Kitchen Master to provide remodeling of our kitchen, foyer, and first floor bathroom. They acted as the general contractor for the removal of the existing furnishings and installation of new cabinets, countertops and plumping in the kitchen, installation of new cabinets and plumbing in the bathroom, and removal of the ceramic tile and installation of hardwood floors.

Everyone said we were crazy to schedule a kitchen remodel in December and that it would drag out well into the new year (our kitchen had not been remodeled since construction in 1971!). However, Kitchen Master demoed the kitchen on Dec. 3rd and by Dec. 21st we had a working kitchen. I would highly recommend working with a full service company like Kitchen Master, especially for people who feel they are too busy to accomplish all the decision making etc. involved in upgrading a kitchen. They provided design expertise and then coordinated the entire job. The only services you must contract are the floor and painting. We found Angelique's design expertise and Keith's careful installation service to special standouts. We would definitely recommend this company.
Description of Work: Kitchen Master did a completely new kitchen for us from design, through demo and installation. Kitchemaster did a marvelous job of getting 4 small rooms out of the allotted space. I am very happy with the tiled glass shower that was installed in the bathroom. Kitchenmaster seemed to have good business partnerships with companies that supplied the tiling, fixtures, etc., so it made selecting the items a breeze. Ken was great to work with and was excellent at keeping all workers on task. The workers were very good at cleaning up after themselves after each work day. They were upfront about not painting, but I wish they would have at least primed the drywall. Overall, I am very satisfied with the work that was done. The cost of the project was effected by the cost of the of the mats we selected and Ken was good about keeping us informed. I would consider Kitchenmaster for future work.
Description of Work: Kitchenmaster remodeled 150 square feet in the basement creating a laundry room, bathroom w/stand up shower, entry area, and furnace room. They moved the existing toilet to the other side of the room and had to dig up the concrete floor. Kitchemaster installed cabinetry in the laundry room and a sink cabinet in the bathroom. They also changed out a couple recessed lights in the living room to match the lighting being installed with the remodel. Project was completed in approximately 5 weeks. There was a delay with drywall installation, which kept the project from being finished on time (original estimate was 3 weeks).

IT WENT VERY WELL. FROM THE BEGINNING THEY WERE VERY HELPFUL IN COMING UP WITH A DESIGN AND CHOOSING PRODUCTS. THEY PROMISED A 3 WEEK JOB. WE WERE OPERATIONAL BY THE END OF THREE WEEKS, AND WITH A COUPLE OF DAYS ADDED ON FOR THE FINAL PUNCHLIST WE WERE QUITE HAPPY. DID A GREAT JOB, VERY PROFESSIONAL AND BENT OVER BACKWARDS TO ACCOMMODATE OUR WISHES. IT ENDED UP BEING THE TYPE OF JOB THAT WE ARE PROUD TO SHOW TO FRIENDS, FAMILY, ETC. HAD ONE PROBLEM A YEAR LATER WITH ONE OF THE CABINET DOORS. THEY WERE MORE THAN HAPPY TO REPLACE IT FOR US AT NO COST. UNFORESEEN ELECTRICAL WORK ENDED UP COSTING AN ADDITIONAL $500, BUT NO WAY TO FORESEE THAT UNTIL THE WALLS WERE OPENED UP. ALL IN ALL A VERY POSITIVE EXPERIENCE.
Description of Work: KITCHENMASTER DID A COMPLETE KITCHEN REMODEL. REMOVED ONE WALL TO OPEN UP KITCHEN, REPLACED ALL CABINETS, INSTALLED GRANITE COUNTERtOPS AND APPLIANCES, ALSO TILED BACKSPLASH. THEY ALSO REPLACED 2 OF OUR BATHROOM CABINETS DURING THE COURSE OF THE KITCHEN REMODEL.

All employees and sub-contractors were very professional, friendly, punctual and tidy. Although there were some delays in the work being completed, most of the problems were out of the control of Kitchen Master. We were very happy with the quality of the work performed and the company's quick response to any problems or concerns. We used this company to completely remodel our kitchen and powder room 2 years ago and will go back to them again.
Description of Work: Complete remodel of main bath.
