J & E Installation

Price was competitive. The company owner, Ed, and his wife, Tina, provided good assistance and advice to select doors and hardware. They were relaxed and responsive. The doors were installed exactly as ordered. The installers were meticulous, perfect clean up and the entire job was turn key including all inside and out side trim. The old doors were removed and hauled away and the entire job was completed in about 5 hours. So this was a complete and finished project. We would definitely use this company again and will strongly recommend them to others.

J&E Installation was fantastic. They replaced all of our interior doors for a reasonable price. Jeff kept us informed as to when the materials would be available, and when they could come out and do the work. They were very attentive to detail, the doors look fantastic, and they cleaned up and touched up nicely at completion. They definitely know what they're doing, and we'll reach out to them again the next time we have a home improvement project.

Over the past 6 years J&E has replaced all of the windows and doors in our 63 year old home. This spring they did a major project-took down a load bearing exterior wall and installed a 12' french doorwall. The results are stunning! Great people, good pricing and excellent work!

Ed was great. he came out to talk about the project and made recommendations based on what we were looking for. I had received other quotes and he was very competitive and really liked the dialogue, knowledge and experience they had. Installation date was set and they spent 3 days as promised installing all of the doors. Everything went to our satisfaction. They left the house clean after their days work. Pete was especially great. He is a true craftsman of his trade and took the time to make sure every detail was done correctly. We love our new doors and they look great and function perfectly. I would definitely hire them again for future projects.

Our 110 year old home needed help! We have lived in this residence for almost 43 years, but about 15 years ago we knew then that it required more than just “band-aiding.” Having a very old home presented aged problems, but nothing that this incredible team couldn't tackle and overcome with their creative, knowledgeable mission. After checking out several companies, to the rescue came Ed and Jeff, partners in J & E Installation Co. We were immediately impressed in the first in-home contact when Ed surveyed the problems and presented a potential plan of action as to what would be involved (with reasonable estimated costs) starting with windows. Once our decisions were finalized, it was definitely a challenge that they were willing to take on. There was no pressure put upon us; many innovative suggestions were offered by them. From the very beginning a team arrived taking measurements, laying out tools, and bringing a supply of energy with a focus on the job. We really witnessed the incredible teamwork that this work crew demonstrated! There was a lot of productive communication with us; a definite focus on positive customer relations was always evident! Each morning the work crew started with welcoming smiles and a sense of humor as they unloaded heavy equipment, ladders and other necessary implements. Each person demonstrated positive attitudes and were self-directed as the work progressed. At times the heat and humidity of Michigan's notorious summer weather would have slowed down most workmen, but not these guys. We don't even know if they took any breaks other than a brief lunch. They were working on site until late each day. There was constant visible progress which included 2 large picture windows that faced our woods. It was obvious that they wanted to be on schedule. The flurry of detailed action was like a group of worker bees. This company was detail-oriented with perfection as a goal and pride in their workmanship until the last window was in place and trim work finished. Then our beautiful front door with the storm door arrived and the installation team completed their tasks. The clean-up was efficient and also a priority with them and so J & E had given our home new, extended life. This labor of love that they took on will always make them a part of this residence. Now nearly two decades later all of their work still looks new; the windows keep our house warm, are easy to keep clean and everything looked terrific for our home's inclusion in our town's Christmas Home Tour. J & E Installation Company owners are on a first-name basis with us and have kept an open invitation for us to stay in contact with them if we ever need their assistance. Because of their incredible work ethic and bonding, they have never forgotten us. We connect with them regularly when we stop by their displays at the Builders' Shows in Novi, Michigan. We would highly recommend this fantastic business. Their work ethic is something to behold and they are terrific, inspiring role-models for others. The world needs more dedicated professionals like them who can work productively with their team and those who hire them!!!

Worked with Ed throughout the entire process from estimate to project completion. Since this was a large investment, I had numerous questions throughout the process. Ed was patient and answered all of my inquires and, in the end, I was very satisfied that the good decisions were made. The process was extremely flexible and accommodated some small changes along the way. The crew was professional and did an excellent job in both installation and cleanup despite very challenging weather conditions of high winds and colder weather. I received several quotations prior to starting the project and while not the cheapest (different brand of windows) it was very competitive for quotes of the same brand.

I first called J&E to determine their policy for giving estimates. The owner I spoke with (there are two) said I should come to the showroom first so I drove to their business location the next morning. When I walked inside, a bell rang to announce my entry but the display room was quiet. I walked toward the back of the room while looking at some of the doors on display, then heard voices coming from a back room. Because a bell had rung when I came through the front door I chose to assume my presence was known and give the people in back time to finish their conversation rather than interrupt. At least five minutes passed without acknowledgement so I walked to the door to the back room and called, "Hello--?" This owner, with his back to me, only said only he would be with me in a minute--no smile, no hello, no sorry for the wait. This indifference continued for the course of my brief conversation with him when we finally sat down at a counter. As I was at the beginning stages of deciding details for a replacement entryway door system, I was hoping he might take some time with me but that didn't happen. He asked only the most basic of questions so he could flip through his binder and write a couple of "estimate" costs next to pictures in a product catalog! From my experience, I got the impression that he wasn't interested in taking on the project. My husband and I decided to take our business elsewhere.

Was extremely satisfied with the services. I live in a condo complex and required a specific color for both the storm and entry doors. They were able to supply the needed color and match both the storm and entry doors to the same color. They are certified Therma-Tru installers, a fact that influenced my decision to hire them. The install team showed up at the appointed time and were very professional. Removal and disposal of old doors was included in the pricing. Installers removed all trash and left the work space clean. Definitely the best value for both the materials and service.

I had a great experience. The owner listened to my needs, helped me pick out the doors and phantom screens. Everything from the my visit to the store , the visit to to my home to measure, and finally the installation of the doors and screens was very professional. Everyone was on time as promised. The installation went well. The installers did a good job cleaning up afterwards. And the doors and screen look great!

It went very well. The owners and the installers were very professional. They were very helpful during the selection process. The installers arrived on time and the installation, as well as the doors are first rate. The wooden trim provided with the door didn't quite match the rest of the trim in the house, so J & E cut and stained some new wood for us without additional charge.

The doors look great! This company is class act at what they do. The only downside is that it took a month and half from purchase to installation date due to them being very busy.

I initially called J&L because they have great reviews but I I'm very disappointed with this interaction. I took work off for an appointment at 9AM to meet Ed at our business. When no one showed up, I called the office at 9:15. The individual who answered said he would have Ed call me. When Ed called he said he had a bigger job and he was at that site. So I asked, "Why didn't you call?" Ed said, "I'm calling now." When I pointed out he was only returning my call, he said, "Well, I didn't know you had to take work off, it's a business so I thought someone would be there if I came later." I said, "Okay, forget it - we'll find someone else to do the job, thanks anyway." Then Ed hung up on me. As a business owner, I understand appointments can get mixed up at times but Ed never accepted responsibility for missing or completely disregarding our appointment and disrespectfully hung up on me. Maybe he was having a bad day but this is no way to treat people.

I am very impressed with both the consultative sale process that helped me choose the correct doors for their purposes, and with the installation itself. The installers were polite and very thorough, and very clean workers who took pains not to disturb my home. Their work is so much more professional and better-looking than the doors that were with the home when I bought it. It was a cold day and they worked relentlessly to get both doors installed the right way the first time. I appreciate their using more screws, and of longer length, to make the doors as burglar-resistant as possible. I suspect some of the reviewers who complain of high prices may not appreciate the value of getting what you pay for. in not only the door, but the installation quality of that door. With J&E, I got what I paid for and I sleep better at night with these new doors on the home.
