Overall they did a great job. They started out by doing an energy audit. They were very thorough and provided some great insight into areas of the house that needed to be buttoned up. We were given multiple options to choose from and my wife and I picked the one we thought would work best. They were here for about 3 days completing the work. They were very clean and made sure to protect the areas where they were working. The crew was very friendly and polite. And after they finished, they tested our house again and we were pleased to find out the house was 30% more efficient. I would recommend them to friends and family.

Nice people explained everything you asked. Would ask them in again if we needed them. They found our house weak spots.

The guys came on time, pointed out several areas that I could maximize energy and savings, and did a thermal imaging to point out deficiencies in the insulation. Unfortunately, because I had some asbestos over some pipes in the basement they could only do a partial inspection.

They were very informative about where our energy leaks were and told us what improvements could be made. The deal for them to check the house was for $140 and then I had them come back an insulate one of the areas they mentioned wasn't insulated well enough and I spend about $360. That work was in the end of May. I thought they were very good, they were thorough in checking and testing the energy and making further recommendations. if you want them to do further repairs to remedy those situations they will give you an estimate, complete the work and come back and do another energy check to see if it made a difference. They were very neat, they wore shoe covers, they were polite and very courteous.

Scheduling was great. They provided a very comprehensive report.

The work was done by two people (Amanda and Nick) over about three hours. They were friendly, explained what they were doing, answered all my questions, were clean and orderly, and did NOT make a mess climbing in/out of the attic. They let me look over their shoulder to see what they were doing and how they did it. The blower door fit in an external door and contained two electric motor driven fans to create a pressure difference needed for the air leakage. Further, their home office staff person (Donna, I think) who made and communicated the schedule was very friendly and helpful, and seemed to do everything she could to accomodate my requests. The "safety check" found four small natural gas leaks. Two were outside by the meter and two inside due, I think, to installation of a new water heater in 2013. DTE came out within the hour and fixed the outside leaks. Ecotelligent Homes was then able to do the blower door test even though the small inside leaks were still present . I got those fixed by the water heated contractor the next week as a warranty repair at no additional cost to me. At the conclusion of the audit, they sat down with me and their laptop to show me all the pictures, discuss the concerns, and explain what could be done. The report was emailed to me later for my permanent records. It was about 20 pages. Their quote to do all the work was $12,073. However, if I agreed by May 14 to have it done, the price would be only $11,228, a savings of $845. Since the audit ws performed on a Friday (May 9), I felt their offer gave only three days (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of the following week) to get a competitive quote, I do not think that was enough time to contact and schedule a competive quote, so I do not regard this a true "no pressure" situation. It is very true that they did not attempt to pressure me to sign on May 9, and they said I was welcome to get competitive quotes. But when I said I thought I needed more than three working days to do that, they were not willing to delay the May 14 commitment date for the reduced price. So this is the only reason I have for not giving them an "A" for professionalism. After the audit was done, I looked at my gas bills for the past four years, and guessed at best I might save 25% if I made the suggested changes. It appeared that it would take over 50 years for me to pay off the cost of the work, so I decided to not have it done, and I communicated this decision to them. They accepted my decision without argument or any attempt to pressure me into taking it. I am glad I had the audit done. I'm sorry that it didn't result in my improving my insulation, but at least I now have the data.

The audit was amazingly informational. They took lots of detailed photo's of the insulation in the attic and the basement, and wrote up a detailed report of all the energy issues inside my home. They then produced three options for moving forward with work. We decided on an attic sealing w/insulation, gas leak fixes, and rim joist insulation. They were on time and professional. They did all the work they said they would and the were very clean. They then did an exit audit comparing my energy efficiency before and after and told me how much rebate I would receive. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

They came out to look at the house and said they wouldn't be able to complete the job and to contact Angie's List to get a refund for the big deal.

Amanda and Nick did a great job during my recent home energy audit. They analyzed several areas of our home that were areas of potential improvement. I would highly recommend them to others considering having this service done on their own homes.

The Ecotelligent team was on-time, polite and very careful not to track dirt or snow into our home. They gave us an overview of what they would be doing and then quietly went about their business, inviting us to come along and observe each step or to simply let them do their audit and wait for the report. We had concerns about one room being much cooler than the others. They were able to give us a few possible reasons why the room was cooler and one solution that helped make the temperature much closer to the rest of the house. They performed a furnace inspection and identified a small gas leak. They did a full blower door test to identify where air leaks from our home and walked us through with an infrared camera to show us where the heat was escaping. At the conclusion, they provided a full audit report that identified possible problem areas and the services they suggested to correct the issues. They offered three levels of service quotes at three different price points depending on what we wanted done. They also gave us some tips on things we could do ourselves to help better seal the home from air leaks. We chose not to opt for any of the suggested services but the Ecotelligent team was very thorough, professional and did not use any pressure sales tactics. They simply presented their findings and suggested some of their services. They provided exactly the service I wanted.

First they asked why we purchased an energy audit and took their lead from our needs. EcoIntelligent did a complete energy inspection of our home, including a tour through the attic and a room by room analysis of escaping air. They also reviewed our energy bills. Upon completion, we had a personal review of the findings as well as a written summary. They were clear about how they would follow up and then did so. My husband and I know what our next steps will be and are working on a 5-year plan as well. They were punctual, professional (covered their shoes when walking through the house) and flexible (working around a plumber scheduled for the same time). I couldn't ask for more.

They were not bad. I was satisfied with their work. Scheduling the service was easy. They had the right tools to do the job correctly. Overall I was happy with the Big Deal.

We have a large cold air leak in kitchen behind the corner cabinets. Ecotelligent indicated the source of the air lead was the upstairs cantilever area that projects 13" beyond the lower story wall, due to no insulation in the cantilever. I was a bit surprised because the cold air flow was on the floor of the kitchen- coming out beneath the cabinets and from under the stove. They proposed foam insulating the cantilever area-both in front and back of the house for $1,400, which they estimated would take two men approximately 6 to 8 hours. I stated the price was too high and the representative immediately dropped the price to $1,258. I still stated this was too high and the two of us negotiated price again. It was my understanding that the price we negotiated would be between $960 and $1,100 dollars depending on whether the hours were 6 or 8. I wrote a note describing what we had verbally agreed to, but the representative said he did not need the note and refused to take it with him. A few days later their written proposal arrived via email and it was $1,258 if the job took 8 hours or $1,100 if it took 6 hours. Their written proposal was essentially their second proposal before we negotiated. The 20 minutes we took negotiating was completely ignored in the written proposal. I chose not to have Ecotelligent Homes do the work because the price was too high and although they seemed to negotiate with me on pricing while at my house, their proposal did not account for these negotiations.

Contractor was a pleasure to work with. They were very prompt in their communication to us.

Bryan and Amanda came to my house as scheduled and explained the work they would be doing as well as reviewing what my concerns were. Amanda was in charge of safety and in door quality. She found a gas leak in our furnace room and also identified our hot water heater as a source of Carbon Monoxide and recommended it be replaced or repaired for safety reasons. Bryan used an infrared camera to identify areas where our house was allowing air to come in our out. They then did a blower door test to show areas where air was coming in. They provided a very thorough report of their findings along with several options for them to address the problems. We ultimately decided to have them seal and insulate the over hang on our second floor that was the source of cold in a number of rooms in our house. I have had other companies come and do similar work at my previous house and they did not do neither as professional job. In fact the report Bryan sand Amanda was much more readable and understandable. They used a Red, Yellow, Green indicator on the report to indicate action.

They were great! Very nice and took the time to walk around with me and answer my questions. Pointed out things I had no idea about. This went well beyond "windows and wall insulation" which is what I thought they would point out. Some of the work they told me how to do, some is beyond my ability and they gave a good price for the work. Even found a gas leak outside. Oops!

They were very professional. Did the Door Test and used an Infrared Camera, among over tests. Showed us exactly where we need to insulate to help warm up a very cold room over the garage. That's the short story - we hope to bring them back to do the work before another winter.

A bit expensive but happy with customer service and results.

Brian and Nick first performed a whole house energy audit, looking at everything from insulation levels, furnace efficiency, and air quality and safety. Based on the audit, a detailed report was presented with various options for improvements, based on what they found and our comments on home trouble spots. The options were presented in a good/better/best fashion in order of most "bang for the buck", along with estimated energy savings of each. We opted for option #2 ("better"), which offered some efficiency gains as well as addressing some of our comfort issues. The work involved a crew onsite for a couple days applying spray insulation and minor duct work. Very professional crew, arrived on time and finished ahead of schedule. After the work was performed, Nick returned to validate (using blower test) that the improvements provided the expected efficiency gains and to audit the work crew. As a bonus, based on the proven efficiency gains, they also handled processing our Consumers Energy rebate. Very good experience!

The Energy Audit went well. Knowledgable. Insistent that Husband and Wife be there together for the moment that they provide their 'findings'. Provided us with information about making our home more energy efficiant and to solve some and quot;cold spotand quot; problems. They were nice, and (as I was prepared for) : they were and quot;a little tooand quot; pressuring. We agreed to think about it and they Would Get back to us. The next day the 'lead guy' e-mailed me.......I really wasn't ready to make a decision about $18,000..oo Later that week I tried to get a hold of him. Well, I didn't know that he was then on a vacation...no word about that. So, after another week, I finally figured that he kinda and quot;gave up on usand quot;. I say that because, in our and quot;sit down at the kitchen tableand quot; he mentioned that and quot;he has found (in his experience) that potential clients who say and quot;MAYBEand quot; to their price and suggestions - - will not have the work done. Well, I guess that is a prophecy fulfilled. We had the work done by a different group. Happy with it and the warrenty and price. PS: A few weeks after the first e-mail from the Audit Folks , I found out that -the guy was on a well deserved vacation. He probaboy should have told me that he would be out of town. Then, I would have given him more of a chance to explain , and possibly adjust to a lower price. Best Regards,

Brian and Nick were very professional and courteous . They arrived on time and were careful about wearing booties and keeping our floors clean. Finally they were able to recommend a list of contractors who could work on some remodelling we are planning for the future.

Overall the process went very smoothly. They found a gas leak at the meter and gave me the contact information for Consumers to have them correct the issue. They made several options for energy improvement with a quote for those options at the time of the audit. They realized I was kind of a do-it-yourself homeowner and offered some option for me doing some of the routine prep work for suggested improvements to keep the cost down, which I appreciate. They followed up routinely to see if I wanted to move forward but were never pushy. As it turns out I will be moving and therefore am not moving forward with the suggested improvements but I would not hesitate to use them again.

Amanda and Nick arrived on time and did a great job doing the audit. They showed me all the areas where I am losing heat in the house and gave me options and recommendations for fixing the issues.

This was the neatest experience - I have a 1965 Colonial with plaster walls and original windows. We were able to diagnose any/every area where heat was being lost, air was slipping in and any areas that needed attention. I found that the walls were poorly insulated, original to 1965 and that much of the basement required additional insulation in the rim-joints, which was contributing to cold wood floors in the Winter. The team reviewed multiple ways to improve the efficiency of my home from do-it-yourself to hiring a professional - provided multiple approx. costs to expect and even recommended a number of experts who can do the work. In the end, I think we will be able to save hundreds of dollars on heating and cooling bills as well as bring the house more inline with the 2000's for efficiency.
