They were here to identify areas to make your home more efficient. They were here for a couple of hours, did a full audit, and had the report to me that same day. They gave me five different variations of the report. They were extremely personable and professional. I wasn't put out at all in spite of the fact that they were all over the house.

All of the above (and more) was a lot of work and it was not cheap. That being said, it was a job that needed doing and Ecotelligent did a competent and professional job. Workers showed up at the times they agreed to and worked throughout the day. Ecotelligent did a thorough job of explaining the work that needed to be done and why it needed to be done. Early on we were told that there was mold in the attic that needed to be removed before their work could be done. We paid for another vendor to sample and test the alleged mold area. Based on the lab results, there was no mold in the attic. After some discussion, Ecotelligent proceeded with the insulation work that was contracted for.

It went well only thing was I did not expect them to be at my house for 5 hours so it is very comprehensive so allow time. the two people who came were phenomenal very professional and explained everything.

Nick and Jamie performed an energy audit on our home; Nick did a blower door test, and used a thermal camera to look for common leaky areas in our home. There were definitely areas that needed improvement, some of which I had read about previously (ex. sealing any cracks/openings in attic, and basement rim joists). However, they pointed out quite a few other areas that I was not aware of, such as the overhangs on our house, and top plates accessible from the attic. When they were done, Jamie recommended a "Good, Better, Best" set of services that they could perform to help improve the insulation and air sealing in our house. If you read the other reviews here, they also mention this... it's not exactly a high-pressure sales tactic, but they may offer you some discounts for making a quick decision. If you simply want to do the audit, I don't think they will pressure you to buy their additional services though. In my case, I already was planning to use Ecotelligent Homes based on good reviews here. I went with the "Best" package, which in my case was a lot of work that I'm certain I couldn't do myself, but would really improve the efficiency and comfort of our house. The end result? Well, based on their blower door test, we improved the leaks by about 33%! But that doesn't include the added insulation. I just got my first winter gas bill after the job was completed, and comparing it to last December based on heating degree-days, we used approximately 18% less gas to keep the house warm! It's more like 20% when compared to colder months (last Dec. was mild). Now, keep in mind, because natural gas is so cheap right now, we may not realize a huge return on investment... but a big part of it was to simply reduce our environmental impact. Also, because of the insulation and sealing, rooms that were previously cold are now the same temp as the rest of the house... so it's also added comfort to our living space. And finally, unlike a new furnace or boiler, the insulation should basically last as long as the house, so it'll be giving us savings the entire time we live here (long term investment). As for Jamie, Nick, and the install crew, they were all truly a pleasure to work with!

It went great. I initially wanted one area handled. After it was explained to me that attending to that one area wouldn't solve our issues, I agreed to have a larger amount of work done. They were here as promised, were neat and professional as well as friendly and helpful.

Everything went great! From the initial visit, the job performance, and the quality assurance follow-up visit.

Really well. Took about 4 days. They were courteous, prompt, and professional. The audit they did before hand was extensive and took over 7 hours. After the job our house is almost energy star compliant (the work they did all exceeds the energy star ratings) but our heater and ac unit need to be upgraded to make that happen. Overall, they helped us with planning, understanding, and rebates. It was educational and it's made a huge difference for us. No more cold spots or hot spots, dust doesn't accumulate nearly as much (we need new carpet upstairs too), and we can actually feel normal temperatures on every floor of our home.

It was interesting, but too expensive. So I didn't end up doing anything more than $75. The service that I contracted for, everything was great. But then they gave me quotes that were way way way outside my price range. So I would never use them for any further service. If I wanted to do the same thing again, I would probably use them for that.

They haven't finished yet. What happened is in order to access two attic areas they had to cut holes in the ceiling and they also inadvertently damaged an area of the ceiling in the kitchen. I spoke to Nick last Thursday and he assured me that his drywall people would be calling me on Friday. So, I did pay them in full and normally would not have done that and I got no phone call on Friday and I've had no phone call today. So, I tried calling Ecotelligent Homes and left a voicemail and I haven't gotten a phone call back. The initial work was well done. The staff that they sent to do the work were very nice and they cleaned up every night after themselves and did a good job with that. They said they were going to be here and they were here on time. I thought that what they were doing was rather expensive but if they did a really good job it would definitely be worth it and that was one of the things I read in their evaluations is how expensive their work was. The fact that I also have to pay for drywall people to come in and get it ready for painting was the amount that they charged and totally is I think over the top.

Ecotelligent homes did a very thorough assessment of my insulation as well as heating/cooling needs in my house. I am very happy with their work.

Magnificent! Jamie & Nick were consummate professionals, and showed genuine interest in our unique questions and concerns. We had questions that needed a follow-up, and Jamie responded to them that very night. Until finding Ecotelligent, I had given up hope of finding a reputable company that would address my concerns about making my home more energy-efficient whilst improving air quality. I would strongly recommend Ecotelligent to any homeowner whose utility bills are going through the roof (literally!).

Very well. It was a 5 day job due to the extreme heat that week. A crew of 6 worked each day. They were very good at cleaning up and explaining everything they were doing along the way.

They examined the entire house on every level from basement to attic. They have provided us options for replacing insulation, sealing the ductwork, removing some existing mold. We are considering these proposals seriously.

The company was here at 8am-5pm. House has prepped with floor droppings & plastic. Great communications throughout process & all employees. Highly professional!

Did a great job. Very comprehensive. I learned a lot. I haven't made any suggested repairs yet because I haven't had time or budget.

I didn’t get clear communication as to how the process would unfold. Wasn’t allotted that toxic spray foam was being used & that if would be best to stay away from house for a bat. They didn’t aloud enough time & the job ran over by a day. They also ran act of materials they use have to come back the spring to finish up the foam spray work as some areas didn’t get adequate coverage.

Great! They are really a hard working company. The audit was very comprehensive as it took two people over six hours! From reading previous reviews, we were prepared for the sales pitch at the end and had already decided we would most like contract them to do the insulation work because of their good reputation. We paid more than we cared to for the work but it is hard to compare general quotes because houses are so different. Their furnace quote was definitely higher but then you need to consider the quality of work. The crew was very friendly and easy to talk to; they seemed happy to answer any questions. They were very neat and I often left them alone in the house. We have yet to receive our first utility bill but we are expecting to see some return on our investment. Additionally, it is a nice timesaver for Ecotelligent to file the rebate forms.

Jamie and Nick came and performed a comprehensive energy audit including use of infrared imaging to map regions of heat escape. Once done, they provided a detailed proposal (with photos) for remediation. They did a very thorough audit and I am pleased with their work. I have not yet decided to follow up (at least for now) with the proposed improvements as it is going to be quite expensive.

All work went as schedule. Nick and Amanda came and they did a thorough job checking all around the house including the attic, basement and crawl space. Upon the audit completion Nick presented us with a report followed up by a complete sale presentation as to how we can fix the problem areas. We decided to have ?spray foam around the basement rim joist and also complete crawl space encapsulation. Unfortunately they missed a couple of small spot and I had to call to have it corrected. Nick responded very quickly. The crew was professional and did a very good job. They cleaned when done. Amanda and Nick came to inspect the work done and do a second audit.

Overall went well. Maybe saving ~ 10% on energy bills at best, was expecting a little more. Also was expecting a little better warmth in winter and coolness in summer but service did not help that. Hopefully in long run, the added efficiency will provide a payback but more likely to the next owner of the house.

purchase deal from Angie's List. Company called me to apologize, but that they did not service my area and that my payment would be credited back . And it was. Ever since then everytime I login to AngieList I keep getting hounded to do a review. I requested from Angie's List on how to stop being asked to do this review but got no response. So, finally I am doing what I would call a 'fake' review to relieve myself from this message everytime. I hope this does not sway the results for this service provider.

Made sure I saved energy for the Winter and Summer. Janile explained what I needed to save energy. Jeff showed me what the house did before and after imaging of the house. I got a nice rebate from DTE.
