21st Century Windows

Overall, the project went very well and I am very satisfied.

I am very happy with the work 21st Century Window has done at my home. I found this company on Angie's List. They installed windows and doors. They also put on a new roof. The are doing wonderful work and are currently still working on my home. I will be using them in the future for siding repair, painting, and drainage issues that involves concrete work. The process has been so easy and excellent. They move like the wind. They do quality wok and clean up well. You hardly notice they are there. The price is excellent and very competitive. Everything has been great.

I purchased a Whole House Air Leak Seal "Big Deal" on Angie's List. Immediately after I purchased the service (mid December), Mark assured me that they would be able to do the work promptly. However, a month and a half later, Mark informed me that it might still be a while before they can perform the service, saying that the work is typically not done in the winter, and that it has to be above 40 degrees to perform the work. Those items should have been communicated to me initially, as opposed to making a promise that apparently had very little hope of being fulfilled. In the end it turned out to be a waste of my time.

They were busy arrived a "little" later than first expected. Crew, was very pleasant and professional. Did an excellent job of caulking outside. Though it was a little pricey for about 20-30 minutes of work, so I don't know if I will use them again.

The service went very well. Mark was very responsive, he returned my phonecall within a day and he and his crew came out the very next day to provide an estimate. Because I had condensation issues in the attic which was causing the mold problem, he had checked out the external roof immediately (which no other contractors had done). He did a very thorough inspection and provided good information. He took a day to complete the estimate to ensure he could get the best prices for me. I had expected the cost to be higher and was happy that his prices were affordable for me. The job went well, all issues were addressed including roof repair, mold remediation and insulation. He does not cut corners, he wants the job to be done right the first time. It is obvious he wants the customer to be satisfied. The repair took less than two days and he was very professional when the job was complete. He also followed up with a phone call days later. Mark and his crew were very professional and friendly, answering my questions throughout. I would definitely contact this company for future jobs.

The overall experience from start to finish was excellent. We received a few bids and Mark's bid was very competitive. From the very beginning, he was punctual and always easy to contact. We met several times prior to signing a contract and we never felt any pressure to purchase. We discussed many options and Mark was patient with us and with explaining different options. Once the work began, Mark's crew was great. I thought they did a great job of installing the windows and doors. They were careful to replace any wood that had rotted and they also used foam insulation for a good seal. The outside of the windows were trimmed in attractive brown colored aluminum that complemented our brick nicely and all the seams were thoroughly caulked. We are very happy with the work that Mark did and would recommend his services to anybody.

I bought a Big Deal through Angie's List. Mark, the owner, was very knowledgeable of what he came here to do. He explained certain things and passed on information to me of how I could seal my home and keep moisture out of my home. He was quite good.

Mark was able to accommodate my appointment to an earlier date which I was able to be at home. He called ahead before heading to my house. He came first and evaluated the house and discussed his plan with me. His crew calked my door and windows, sealed many holes and cracks on the outside walls. They also filled the gaps inside my garage wall; checked my three attics and fixed leaking problem with my range hood duct. They evaluated my roof and fixed some minor problems with the siding. Mark and his crew are very patient and spent time explaining things to me. Overall very good experience and very nice workers. I will definitely use them again.

21st Century Windows more than exceeded our every expectation. Our experience in dealing with them from beginning to end has been extremely positive and to our satisfaction. The work performed was completed on time and done with great attention to detail.

My experience was great! He was very punctual. If he saw that he couldn't be here at the scheduled time, I received a phone call. He suggested to do the garage windows in glass block. It looks very nice. Everything was cleaned up when he left. From start to finish, there were not any problems.

I called 21st Century about the replacement of an oval window and in talking with the person who answered the phone, the leaky chimney chase issue came up and she said that was also something that could also be done by 21st Century. Within a few hours I had people calling me back to discuss both projects but specifically the window. At this point I had not been able to find anyone who could handle the oval window replacement including Pella, Hansons, Home Depot and Wallside Windows. 21st Century was great at answering my questions about what I should look for in the window with regard to material, sizing and warranty/craftsmanship and found me exactly what I needed. There was a lull in service for several weeks which was very frustrating. It was difficult to get someone out to the house and to get the window style actually finalized and ordered but 21st Century always returned my calls and I was aware they were very busy. In the end the chimney chase was fixed. The leaks were sealed and the bottom of the chase was replaced and insulated. The window project was also completed. Unfortunately the wrong window was shipped from the manufacturer but it was one of my top three choices in the beginning when I was looking at window styles so I decided to go with it. I'm glad I did. It's gorgeous. 21st Century also painted the exterior of the window for me plus miscellaneous areas of trim on the house that needed it, fixed some of the siding that had come loose and did other minor repairs on the roof while they were up there. They definitely went the extra mile. I also appreciate that time was made to allow me to see the work as it was being done. I wanted to see underneath the chimney and see the damage as well as view the interior of the wall with the window. They made time for this and kept me in loop at all steps. All in all I would absolutely hire 21st Century again. Thank you Mark and Len!

To say Mark is prompt is an understatement. I just called yesterday and he was here this morning at our agreed upon time. He charged us nothing even though he was in no way responsible for the problem we were having. It took him about 5 minutes to finish the job. We were beyond pleased as we have been with everything he's done for us! He understands the importance of customer service and is really there with it.

I first contacted 21st Century in May of this year. I had a couple of nice conversations with its owner, Mark, about some window replacements. He was professional and knowledgeable about the particular problems with the windows in my subdivision. He promised to call back and make an appointment. He never did. A few months later, I happened to read an "F" rating review on Angie's List for 21st Century describing similar problems, and Mark's gracious answer, and how he had taken action "to avoid ever having this happen in the future". So I thought, what the heck we'll give them another try. I called at the beginning of this month and had another nice conversation with Mark in which he apologized for the earlier problem and promised to call back to set up an appointment. You guessed it, he never called back. I gave it a week and then contacted another Angie's "A" list company - Active One Construction- who made an immediate appointment (for the next day) and with whom I have now contracted for windows replacement. Mark seems like a really nice guy and 21st Century maintains its "A" listing on Angie's. However, if they are this unresponsive to potential customers, one naturally worries what their responsiveness would be to clients with installation problems.

I called 21st Century for an estimate on Thursday, July 28th for replacing my patio door.. Mark said he would be at my house by by Monday, August 1st, if not before. It is now August 21st and I have not heard form him.

I saw the company's rating on Angie's List after reviewing a number of reviews for roofers. I finally narrowed it down to this company since they received great reviews and offered additional services of which I figured I would need. I spoke with the assistant whom was extremely nice. I explained that I needed an estimate for a new roof. She took my name and number and explained that Mark would call me back. After one day, I never heard from Mark. I then called again and spoke with the same woman whom pleasantly stated she provided the message to Mark and stated she was sure he would follow up with me. I am still waiting...so my excitement and expectations were short lived and unfortunately I guess I will move on to the next company! I understand this is the summer and they are probably very busy, but a courtesy call back would have been the professional thing to do.

Two other companies on Angie's List that did skylights didn't even want to bother with this job because it was too small. Mark at 21st Century wanted my business and I felt he wanted me to be pleased with the job they did. Due to the rain we had, installation had to be postponed a number of times, but Mark ALWAYS called and kept me informed. The three men who actually did the work were very professional and cleaned up after themselves. I would definitely recommend 21st Century Windows.

Mark called the day before to firm up a time. He and his team arrived on schedule. They went to work immediately, cleaning, prepping, installing, finishing. They were neat workers and left no handprints or evidence that they had been here beyond the beautiful work they accomplished. I will have 21st Century Window Replacement, Inc. out again in the future. I am grateful to Angie's List which helped me to find this company.

The estimation process went well. Ray was very personable and low key and we felt no pressure at all. We felt that the price for materials and labor was fair at a little more than $1,000.00 for everything, excluding the laundry room door, of course. I shall report later on the outcome.

When I (a woman) called for an estimate, the first question asked was if I would be the one making the decision of hiring the company. I was put off by that, but still wanted to get an estimate. It went downhill from there. At first, they wouldn't schedule an appointment, just said they would call when in the area. I received a call while at work, informing me they were in the area. I left work to meet them, only to get a phone call once home saying they wouldn't be able to make it. At that point, we agreed that they would come the next day perform the estimate since I would have a friend at my house to let them in. After our agreed upon time had passed by over 2 hours, I called and left a voicemail inquiring of their status. I didn't hear from anyone for days. The voicemail that was left on my phone was that the apointment was never made, and they wanted to only work me since I was the one familiar with the house. All I was looking for was an estimate to insulate my attic, not a**** my entire house. This was made clear from the beginning. By then, I had already hired someone else, so I ceased contact with this company.

We called this company due to its outstanding reputation with Angie's List. We had major drafts coming in through all of our windows, but especially in our living room, so we were in a bit of a hurry to get that one window replaced especially. We called 21st Century Windows after actually hiring a larger company to replace the living room window. We left 3 messages in the period of a week before finally getting a call back from the owner. (So the B rating for responsiveness). We figured that if he was that busy to get a hold of it might be a good thing in a way because he was probably in high demand. After finally getting a hold of the owner and getting a quote, we realized his prices were more reasonable than the larger company, and we hired 21st Century to do all our windows, and let the larger company go of our smaller job. Also, after finding the conflicting ratings on Angie's List about the larger companies, we found that there was probably a high risk on what type of crew we would get from said companies to install the windows, as well as if the sales rep would just try to rope us into a sale. 21st Century's ratings were consistently excellent in both sales and installation. After meeting with Mark, we found him to be very knowledgeable and honest. We didn't feel like just another sale, and he informed us that the triple pane windows were actually less efficient than the double pane windows. He gave us several options for what windows to get, and recommended the top of the line Sunrise brand, with Low E argon gas. This is what we selected. The installers were very thorough and they worked in the cold to do our windows right (making sure they were caulked properly, etc). The installer even suggested (and put up) what type of trim to put on the inside of our door wall to match all other interior door trim in the rest of the house. The crew also helped put back up most of the brackets for our window treatments. Our house is much warmer now, which is why we needed new windows! What we want to mention overall about this company was that although we had to wait a bit for the first return phone call, it was worth the wait to make sure our windows were going to be done right. But other Angie's List subscribers should know that they might expect a bit of a wait.

We met with Mark around the Christmas holiday and because we did not have a leak or emergency, we agreed to have his crew work on the job once the weather warmed up a bit. He gave us a discount for working with them during the off-season. He was very nice and since we both work full-time, he came out after work to speak with us, which we really appreciated. I should also note that Mark will only let his crew work during the off-season on roofs that are not very steep for the safety of the guys. We had one short burst of sun last week and he called us to let us know the dumpster was coming. My husband spoke with Brian (the head of the roofing crew) and was impressed with his roofing knowledge and passion for good quality shingles and products. The crew came each morning around 8 am and got right to work and they left before we were home from work. Each day they used tarps to cover the areas around where they were working and they swept everything up before we were home. The crew was very professional and hard working. They started work Wednesday and finished up on Saturday afternoon. Our roof looks phenomenal and they cleaned up after themselves impeccably. We also appreciate that they spray painted the bathroom vents and sewer pipe black to match our roof, so everything blended nicely. At first I was hesitant about the price because it is such an investment, but once I saw how long and hard they worked to make everything perfect, it was worth every penny. Thank you Mark, Brian and the rest of your fantastic crew!

He wanted to do the job using his left over windows from other jobs. Said it would save me money. He couldn't give an estimate because he needed to look over his stock of windows. It confused me totally; how could I compare this to other estimates, and what was I actually going to end up with, a melange of various windows?

Very good experience. Very dependable. nice workers. Overall very positive experience. I will definitely call them again.

Very good. Fortunately, this was a small job. The repairmen were able to fix the problem quickly (they were enroute to a bigger job, and happened to be passing near our home). We appreciated their promptness.

The job went well. They worked around my work schedule and got the job done on my days off which I was glad about.
