She is alright. She did some strange things that I thought was funny. She was trying to get me to buy another place and when I chose this one, she said, isn't the other one professional, so when I moved in here I had a lawyer on one side and a doctor on the other. She called it hollywood, it was a brand new addition and I guess you could call it, maybe, a holly wood layout for a movie and I just thought those were some of the funny things she said.

The agent demanded us to provide documents not necessary for purchase such as our tax records and the purchase agreement on the house we were selling. We had given a pre approval letter and $1000 ernest money down and we were still required to jump thru this realty companies hoops. The inspections were not done and the agent told us that the house we were buying would not be available at close which is a contractal date on the purchase agreement. I let my realtor know that she would need to tell this realto,r at Tommy Raines realt,y that the house would need to be vacant and occupiable by the end of close. After much back and forth, the house was empty by the close but left filthy because of the short time frame which was the seller's realtors fault for not taking care of inspections and waiting untill the last possible minute to tie up what should have be done after her client signed the agreement that we were buying the property.
Description of Work: We purchased a house that was brokered by this firm. The agent was rude, demanding and condescending to my realtor when she was the person that dropped the ball and did not schedule the well & septic inspections until 5 days before the close. Avoid purchasing from this realty group and do not use them to seel your home or property!

The Tomie Raines, Inc. agents in this transaction were very experienced professionals and represented the seller and the seller's wishes. The buyer was represented by a very inexperienced agent from another firm so we cannot attest to the accuracy or quality of the advise these folks received or how our actions were communicated. We had to communicate directly with the supervising broker to get what we needed for the sale.. The well and septic inspections were ordered after the property inspection was complete (6/25) and the appraisal was in. The seller did not want to have the well and septic inspections done and the septic pumped till she was sure the sale price was accepted by the lender. This was a competing offer situation with a back up offer. The seller was not in an "I have to move" situation. The inspectors were behind at that time of year as it was peak selling time. They did the inspection and lost the water sample at the lab, so a new sample had to be drawn. It set it back 3 days. We did however have conformance by July 26, 2013. We had conformance in plenty of time for the close, on the contract by August 1, 2013. Obtaining the purchase agreement from the pending sale on the buyers home is standard procedure in a domino chain of sales. We had asked for copies of the pre-approval on their buyer, the purchase agreement, and proof of deposit. There was no request for any "tax records" by us, nor would there be a reason to ask for them. It was all on the counter offer which was agreed to by all parties. The seller was an older lady moving out of the area and we needed to negotiate the time for her to be able to move and clean up after the move. The date on the contract worked for her. The house was left broom clean and was never "filthy" at any time during the listing. We did not see it before the close but the buyers had the opportunity for their walk through prior to the close and everything was cordial at the closing, and the buyers and sellers chatted about the perennials, the neighbors, etc. There was no indication of any issues. Occupancy was at close. Closing was 7/31 and never needed to be extended. Tomie Raines, Inc. surveys all of our clients after closing which is done by an independent research company. The company has a 96.5% customer satisfaction rating and the agents involved in this transaction are highly rated as well. We are sorry these buyers had such a bad experience but that was not caused by the actions of our agents who owed a fiduciary responsibility to the seller.

Katie was terrific. She was always available, always pleasant, and always professional. Buying raw land was a completely new experience for us, and rather overwhelming. Her advice and assistance was invaluable. We are now planning on selling our current house soon (so that we can finally build on the land we purchased!) and will definitely be using Katie again.

They are like other realtors in that they are our best friends until we decided to make a purchase and then they didn't really do anything for us. We found the house; they didn't really do much of anything. We would probably not use them again.

My husband and I were looking to purchase several acres last summer for a future home site. When we first started looking, we didn't realize how complex buying undeveloped land could be, but Katie was absolutely invaluable. She helped walk us through the world of perk tests and mineral rights and surveys, and always answered very promptly whenever we had a question about anything. I can't imagine having done it without her! The process took several months, and we were often frustrated (beautiful property that was basically wetlands, some shady dealing we uncovered in one country subdivision, etc.), but she was tireless in her efforts to help us find the perfect piece of property. We are looking forward to working with Katie again when we put our current home on the market!
