McCardel Restoration LLC

I had a very negative experience with this company. They wouldn't give me a solid estimate and tried to charge me for things I didn't ask for or didn't want. They were rude and unreliable. On top of charging me an arm and a leg for their "services" they damaged one of my walls. So not only did I pay for a horrible job, I had to pay to fix the wall THEY damaged. So unprofessional.

McCardel was referred to me for mold removal. The initial contact and estimate appointment was good. Vince came on June 11th and gave me more information about our issue and said he would have a quote to me by that night or next day. I received the quote and was in sticker shock but knew that I had to get the work done. McCardel's crew came out on June 20th to get started on the work. We meet the crew in the morning and they got started. The crew never gave us instructions on what to expect or how long the whole process would take. Came home that night to find the affected area quarantined off and with no instruction whether they would be back or if we were allowed into that space. What makes the lack of information worse is the area was my bedroom where all my clothes and personal items are. So, I made contact with my realtor to get some direction and she contacted a mold specialist to get some direction. Come to find out we couldn't access that area for almost two days. The problem with that is I didn't have access to my clothes or personal items which would have been easily take care of if we were told before hand. The 2nd day they came back they sprayed this chemical into the affected area and again with no further instruction left my home smelled like chemicals which was very unpleasant and stung our eye. Again this could have been avoid if we were given notice of what was coming. McCardel came back on the third day to remove the barriers and tape they used to hold up the plastic sheets. Upon removing the tape there was damage done to our walls and ceiling. Paint came off when removing the tape. I was called at work by my father, who meet with the team on that day, telling me that there was damage and we would be contacted by Matt from McCardel to fix the damage and to tell me that the crew couldn't leave me a receipt for the work that was done and it would be emailed to me on the next day. The next day comes and goes no call or receipt. I called and spoke with Matt who went on to tell me that McCardel is not responsible for fixing the damage and would not fix it. However; they would charge us a fee to come and fix the damage they did. I was shocked. Still no receipt! I made a few phones calls and by the afternoon McCardel was sending out Vince to fix the damage. I was told Vince would be out Thursday June 28th (we also provided the paint) between 9:45-10. My husband was going to meet him at the house but had to leave for work so he completed the work and told Vince not to come out. Still no receipt!! On July, I sent Vince a text message reminding him I still didn't have a receipt. I never received a reply or my receipt. I called today, July 11th, at around 10:00 a.m. and spoke to the lady that answers the phone and told her that I need the receipt and I was told that she would email it over right then. Its 5:20 pm and still no receipt. Usually getting a receipt isn't a big deal however; we have sold our home and is required to show proof that we had the issues remediated and paid for. If you need any restoration work done on your home call a different company. I never had so many issues with a company before.

We have dealt with McCardel a few times now and every time has been great. They are very prompt, very friendly, do outstanding work at a fair price and finish the job as expected. I really can't say enough good about them. Every time we used them, they took care of everything and I did not have to call 4 or 5 different places to get things done. All of the workers they sent were nice, clean and most importantly, knowledgable about the issues and solutions. I would use them again anytime and would highly recommend them to anyone!

It was beyond my expectations. The man that was in charge of the job was an angel; he was so kind. They were extraordinary, wearing booties, putting down runners, and wiping the floors. It was beyond anything I would ever expect.
