I am a licensed Broker/Co-owner with Keller Williams Realty. I have been licensed for nearly fourteen years, and have helped hundreds of families obtain the American Dream of Home Ownership. I have a team of professionals to assist me in every transaction which guarantees a smooth and enjoyable experience. I specialize in Residential Real Estate, Income properties, and Commercial Real Estate. I service the Greater Lansing area, East Lansing, DeWitt, Grand Ledge, Holt, Mason, St. Johns, Haslett.
For a year my wife and I have been looking for a home. Not just any home, but one that would accommodate our large family of 9. We tried multiple realtors to try to help us with this. Telling them all the needs we had, the specifics we wanted, the area we wanted to live in, the kind of yard we wanted, the type of nieghborhood, schools, the list was long and arduous. Most realtors took them as "suggestions". When they sent us listings they would send what they thought we "should" want. Over the months we went through several realtors and always had the same issues. Not listening to our needs, when showing houses never taking the time to really "show" the house, by looking for flaws, teaching us with expertise they have in their field. Truly helping us. It got to be a game of us doing the searching and then calling whoever we happen to be using at the time to basically open the door to let us stumble around uneducated as we tried to make an informed decision on what would be the most expensive investment of our life. After what seemed like a inordinate amount of time I was fed up with the whole process and considered trying to do my own negotiations with out using a broker/realtor. As a last ditch effort I decided to give Jeff a call. As a side note. We had purchased a house 10 years prior and Jeff had worked with the listing agent. He had done so well showing us the house at that time that my wife insisted he sell us the house instead of the listing agent. From that time every year I received a mailed letter from Jeff inviting us to his annual lugnuts outing, and to inform us about his business life and his growing family. When I called Jeff, again as a last ditch effort to find a buyers agent, not only did he remember me, he remembered my family and the house we purchased. He greeted me like a long lost friend. As far as business, he immediately set a in person appointment for my wife and I to meet him at his office later that week. ( not one agent ever invited us to their office) When we arrived , we were greeted by a friendly staff and had no wait. Jeff took the time to listen to all of our wants and needs. He then mapped out a plan on how to find us what we wanted. He took us through his process from start to finish, explaining everything. We signed a buyers agreement with him on the spot. This cost us nothing, and Jeff was very clear, if we did not like what he was doing and we did not like his process then we could "fire" him at any time. We showed him some houses we where interested in and he researched some others. He was always prompt returning calls, or emails, he always showed up for home showings on time. He went out of his way to really show us the houses. Pointing out good and bad. After a couple of weeks we decided to make an offer. Jeff did a great job helping us decide what to offer and how to offer it. He had the offer letter done in a short time frame, and worked diligently to get a prompt reply from the seller agent. During the negotiation he stood his ground and ended up getting us the original offer. The house was listed for $139,900. We offered $130,000 with the seller paying 3% back for closing costs. Even though I wanted to cave at the counter offer of the seller, Jeff said to wait. At his advice we did, and the seller caved and took or offer! Jeff came to the house inspection staying the entire time. He took notes on anything that was wrong ( furnace needed serviced, and the breaker box needed minor repair) He went into action getting the buyer to repair at their cost both things. During the buying process Jeff went out of his way to help interface with the bank I was using for a FHA loan. He was prompt and efficient. We ended up closing in a total of 24 days. Considering we made our offer right before the Thanksgiving holiday it was an amazing effort. Jeff worked on weekends, nights, and early mornings. He was the integral corner stone in the purchase of the home the fit ALL of our needs. I can't recommend him enough. If you are looking to buy a home he should be your first call. If he does 1/2 as well selling as he does buying, then if you are selling he should also be your first call.
Description of Work: Worked as our Buyers agent to purchase our perfect home. Jeff worked in all aspects, from showing homes, paperwork for the offer, timely advice, negotiations, to closing.

He really was that BAD! Things to be more for the buyer than for us! He just wanted to make the sale! Plus, he did not tell the title company he would NOT make it at the close even when he mentioned to us that he would be there.
Description of Work: We were constantly on him and doing his job. He made open ended promises as a realtor/broker and NEVER returned phone calls! We practically did the closing ourselves and he promised to have everything in order the day before. He was even late for the closing and asked for the check!

I’m a little shocked at the comments you posted. I think you might be confusing me with another REALTOR. When we sat down to discuss the sale of your Condo in Haslett, Mi. I delivered very accurate data supporting the potential sale price for your home. I laid out a very specific marketing plan that both you and (member) agreed was better, and more thorough than any other REALTOR you had. We listed your condo, and 37 days later sold it for 97% of the asking price. You had been trying to sell your condo since 3/20/06, took a little break off the market to renovate, and placed it back on the market with me on 11/09/09. I was the 5th REALTOR over a four year period, and I contacted every Friday to update her throughout the process. You guys relocated to New York shortly after me taking the listing, and I helped watch over the condo while you were gone. You sold all your furniture on Craigslist and I even coordinated a time with a couple of the buyers so they could pack up the sold furniture. I try to make this process seamless for all my clients. You made the statement that I didn’t have everything in order the day before close. The title company had all the documents sent to you guys in New York for review 5-7 days prior to the closing so you could sign and overnight the documents back to us for the closing. All the documents were signed and notarized by you guys in New York, to make it so you didn’t have to make the trip back to Michigan. I’m not sure when you say I didn’t attend the closing. I’ve only missed one closing in my 14yrs of business, and that was due to the sudden passing of my mother. In Michigan the Listing Company has to have a Broker present at all their closings to make sure things are in order, and to sign off the closing agreement between all parties. I am a Broker, and did attend the closing. I handed the keys over to the new buyer of your condo on February 19, 2010, and the paperwork and your check was sent to you guys by the Title Company. As far as the commission that I made… The $4500.00 that you state is also inaccurate. The sale price was $82,000 and doesn’t nearly come close to your figures. I’m sorry that you remember the transaction the way you do. I mostly spoke with (member) throughout the sale, and obviously should have made more of an effort to speak with you directly. I hope all is well in New York, and wish you guys the best!!! Sincerely, Jeff Burke
