EB Companies

The project was not an easy one. Our screen porch screens had to be replaced in place. They could not be removed. This was a small project, but EB was willing to do it. Big companies will not touch a small job like this one. EB had to come back to make some adjustments, but they made sure everything was correct. We are pleased with the work and appreciated them wanting to make sure everything was done well.

Project went smoothly...Troy was super easy to work with, used my designs and the people that came in to do the work were professionals, neat and clean. There were several components and parts to this project and the scheduling worked out well, I was always knowing when someone and who would be coming to do which task. Even with a glitch, we were able work around schedules to get the job completed in a timely manner. I was never left without a basic functioning kitchen for more than 24 hours, which was a great help with making this project stress free.

Extremely easy to work with~I had spoken to 4 different remodeling companies, and this is the only one that got back to me with a detailed quote on exactly what they would do with a break down of the charges. Started the job on the day as planned, were able to work with me and around a couple of issues that were not anticipated. Finished the job as planned in 3 weeks.

Called Troy from EB Companies to get an estimate on fixing my roof. He came out when he said he would and gave me a timely estimate. When I gave the go ahead he gave me an approximate time line when they could fix it and they came out on time and finished the roof in one day. Troy was nice to deal with and did what he said he would do. I would recommend them to my neighbors. They did a great job and cleaned up after the job was done. Dean in Bath

I was hard to know how to write this up, because we haven't yet actually USED this contractor, but we were very impressed with the professionalism, and promptness with which they came out, talked to us and gave us a very reasonable estimate. We decided to wait until this summer to have the work done, but will definitely call EB Companies because we were so impressed.

They stated up front that they provided quality service, so they were not going to be cheap. I said I wanted quality. here's the quality I got. After they installed the RO filter I saw the RO membrane cartridge lying around, so I asked them about it. They said that was a spare, and that the chamber came with a cartridge installed. This was a lie. I discovered this later, when during a routine cleaning service, I found that the chamber was empty. That was when I installed the cartridge. Kitchen sink-- about a year after installation, the drain came apart. I found that the threads in the large fastening nut under the drain basket had been stripped, and they hadn't even installed the gasket properly. This was at 11:00 p.m. on the evening before a party, so I went to the nearby Meijer (24h store), purchased the drain basket assembly and putty, and assembled it myself. I'd never done it before, so it took me three hours. But it's still going strong, after six years, while theirs had come apart in one. The pipes they had attached, i.e., the P-trap and other parts, were also cut too short, so every so often I have to go push them in, otherwise they drip into the area under the sink. I have a moisture sensor installed there now.

It went fine. We were in a bind in that the man painting the house found issues with the window frames and water destroyed boards. Our painter had no suggestions of who to hire so we contacted EB Handyman as they had good ratings on your site. You do have to wait a bit as they are booked, d but they got it done in a timely fashion so our painter was able to finish the painting before the cold weather. Our painter was pleased with the job they did.

The scope of work was cabinet install, range hood install, addition of a few canister lights, and some carpentry to create a kitchen island.. Mike and Mike were detail oriented and did a nice job overall. The range hood install was challenging and it looks great. I'd definitely recommend them to others.

I believe that the interior painting of our home was contracted out to another company. The painters, 4 at one time, were very professional, courteous and friendly. Their work was performed in a timely manner and they did a very nice job.

They did an excellent job; cleaning and removing debris from the gutters and roof valleys. They also made sure that the landscaping was clean and free of debris.

After explaining that I would need a quote for my attorney (I'm suing the seller of the home), he would not be able to give a Free Estimate as his page states - only because this type of quote usually does not end up being performed; therefore he is out time and money. Understandable. The work to raise my floors (and seal my crawl space) will be 100% completed by this year in September or sooner. It isn't an option to leave this work incomplete. EB did assure me that the other company that I've contacted would do a satisfactory job on raising the floors. However, I will still need to find someone to perform any drywall (/subfloor/ceiling) work if it should crack. I'm guessing it will, since the house was built in 1940.

The work has always been just fine.

Had a list of like 10 things, which they accomplished 3, sort of. They are booked several weeks in advance, so plan on waiting. They forgot to install an electrical outlet in the basement. They did glue a delaminated paneled door, but they only glued one side. The other side they left unglued. They didn't seem capable of planing a couple of doors and tightening some hinges on the shed doors. The electrician is first rate, but the damage caused to the ceilings' drywall and the mess in the new bath fans was unacceptable. They piped from the bath fans and connected to the canned vents, but not sealed tight. We had to hire a professional painter to fix the damage and repaint both ceilings. They started to secure a cable wire in a closet and plaster patch and paint, but never finished, apparently the handyman was sick, and that's why he didn't call or ever show up. We had to hire a professional painter to finish the drywall patch and paint it right. They were supposed to adjust the wheel-adjusters on a slider door, but couldn't. They were supposed to tighten the dampener in the fireplace, but forgot. They installed rain diverters on the drip edge, but simply just hammered them in sideways. The owner seems like a first class guy, but he runs a very busy, rather large handyman firm, and the quality of their work is a function of the handymen he sends out to do the jobs, and, therefore, the chain of quality is a function of their weakest link--which I found out the hard way. I spoke to the owner, told him that I was disappointed and that I would pay the bill in full. Their signs are all over East Lansing, so I took the chance. I do not recommend EB Handymen.

My wife and I moved from Ohio to Michigan in August 2013 and purchased a house that is in an ideal location for us. However, the house had been foreclosed and empty for a couple of years and was in need of much repair. The entire plumbing system had to be replaced - pipes, fittings, etc., hot water heater, and well tank. New windows throughout were needed. The front porch had to be replaced. Additional repairs such as patching four holes in the kitchen ceiling and one large crack in the entrance hallway ceiling due to the porch support failing. Other items included installing a light/exhaust fan in the bathroom, gutters and downspouts, furnace repair and tune up, and removing a large motorized TV antenna anchored in cement. I suppose that I could have found different people to do all those things. However, I found E.B. Handyman on line. When Troy came out to look at the house, he said they could do it all. E.B. Handyman employs their own people, but also contracts with others for some of the work they do. I was also told that payment was not due until the jobs were complete. After we finalized the work to be done, E.B. Handyman got it all done when they said they would. The people who did the work were great craftsmen, polite, efficient, and never too busy to answer a question or to explain what they were doing and why they did it that way. My wife and I are pleased with the results and would not hesitate to contract with E. B. Handyman again, should a need arise for such services.

Initial contact was delayed 10 days before provider was able to connect. Estimate was promised, but not delivered. Disappointed because there were several projects we were hoping to have the same provider handle. Really, this is meant to be constructive, as EB may very well do great work. We ultimately went with another company that followed up with us and stayed in contact through the process.

they built shelves in the kitchen and hung many items on the walls some things were very heavy. They were a little pricy.

Great job. I called and got a quick response with an estimate that turned out to be accurate and very reasonable for the work that was done. The guys that installed the lighting were very meticulous about placement of the lights, making sure they were placed where the studs allowed and yet still symmetric to the eye. The touch up wall repairs and painting alone were worth the price. You can't even see where the touch up was done. They arrived when they said they would, cleaned up thoroughly and were very professional. Highly recommend them.

They really fixed a DIY gone wrong and match the swirls on the ceiling which I didn't think possible

The workman arrived on time, was professional and competent. He removed the shingles and decking around the base of my chimney. Then he attached a metal shield that went up my chimney and extended out all around the base of my chimney. He then put new decking down & shingles. The work was excellent & the leak was totally repaired.

Everything was great. Everyone arrived at the scheduled time. The only minus was that I was without a counter and sink over a weekend. But all things considered.......Brad was terrific!!! & we were Thrilled with E B Handyman. They were on time, they were responsive to our concerns, and little add ons, they and their subs were very neat and kept things clean..........and were very tolerate of our newly adopted rescue dog.

. I wanted new interior doors and Eric, the owner, came and measured, so I assumed that when the workmen came, they would have the doors with them. Instead, they remeasured and then went out to buy them. There was one door they did not have in stock, so I had to wait again to have it installed. They will charge a minimum rat, like $100, for a small job that can be completed very quickly. (I am not sure of the exact amount)The workmen were pleasant, but on the reordered door he drilled the hole bigger than the other doors and I couldn't figure out how to insert the door knob. Eric did come out and do that for me.

In all areas, they were awesome! Troy was great with the bid, and Mike was outstanding with the work on site!
