Drain Works

Description of Work: The kitchen sink drain was completely clogged and other drains were clearing slower than normal. The Drain Works technician, Carl come to my home 15 minutes before his scheduled arrival time and was very kind and helpful. He started by listening to my version of the symptoms and set his game plan accordingly. He snaked the kitchen drain and reassembled the pipes under the sink and successfully tested the drain. Next, he when to the basement and located the access to the main sewer pipe that travels out to the street to tie into the city service. He had three sizes of power augers and choose the one capable to clearing tree roots from the huge oak tree in our front yard. After snaking the main sewer line with a cutter he cleaned up both work areas. He then addressed one of my other questions regarding water on the basement floor. Carl determined that the water was coming from the hot water heater base and explained to me how that water heaters tend to rot out after several years due to sediment in the bottom of the unit. The inspection allowed him to evaluate the water, natural gas and venting connections and provide me with a recommendation and a very reasonable quote. He than completed the service bill and made me aware of a discount option available for people using Angies's List. I have a coworker that needs an experienced plumber so I will pass on a magnetic business card to him for Drain Works. One other really impressive thing regarding Carl. He took the time to tell me how proud he was of his three children graduating from college (MSU and LCC). Carl's 30 years of being a hardworking plumbing professional has given his children the gift of a great education. He should know his children are great full. My wife and I will use Drain Works again soon for our plumbing and home improvement projects

Description of Work: I called Drain Works on the recommendation of a plumber friend and they set a date for the following week. In the mean time, my son-in-law called them for an emergency over the holiday weekend, and they serviced and repaired his problem, and both my daughter and son-in-law were very pleased with the professionalism, the promptness, and the service and cost. We found the same to be true at our home--the technician was friendly, polite, on time, and he did the work (more than I had thought) and then cleaned up after himself. When he left, our drains were working properly, and the cost of service was excellent--so good that I've scheduled them to return and service my drains every six months. My wife thought they were so good that she didn't want me to write a report praising them because she's afraid they'll become too busy. But seriously, I'd recommend this company to anyone in need of drain work.

Description of Work: This was not a very good experience. The man who came tried to clean out my main drain line. He said he was unable to get a cutter through. He said he still has to charge me, but his boss would contact me and likely give me a discount on a camera service, but no one ever contacted me. I didnt feel this was fair. He sprayed sewage all over a rug that was near the drain. He put nothing down to protect it, and did a poor job of cleaning up. When he went to clean the upstairs drain, I asked him to cover his shoes. He looked at me like he didnt know what to do, and then said he could take his shoes off if I wanted him to. The upstairs drain still makes a gurgle sound everytime I use it. There are too many other potential good places to use to ever consider Drainworks again.

Description of Work: I have had this company out twice.Both times the men who came were very pleasant and very effiicient . When they did not come on time they gave me a discount for my trouble. They are great guys who do great work. i would recommend them highly and would use them again and agin
