I was very happy with the chimney work, as well as the professionalism of Mr. Laing. I also liked his price. He was the lowest of three companies.
Description of Work: Mr. Laing repaired two chimneys on my house. He did "grind and tuck" work in addition to adding chimney caps.

The work was performed in a timely and professional manner, and within just a few days of the estimate, no waiting period. The cap on top looks great and has a nice even slope in every direction to the edge. The flashing looks like it will do the job, too. Only time and another big rain will tell for sure. Mr. Laing's a very pleasant person.
Description of Work: To fix a problem with water seeping into the ceiling from/through the chimney, the work proposed was to tear down the existing chimney to the flashing and rebuild, also replacing the counter flashing (tap layer), and to form a masonry cap to the chimney that overhangs the brickwork by two inches all the way around.

Laing and his crew completed the work with professionalism, courtesy, care, and thoroughness. I found no fault in anything they did. They completed project just as I requested. And I was pleased with their work and the process.
Description of Work: Scott Laing provided a bid for re-tuck pointing my chimney, removing eroded and fractured cap and replacing it with new tinted concrete cap, as well as repairing some loose bricks on a driveway wall. They arrived with extensive equipment within the three weeks I specified and with a crew of three. They built the tall scaffolding for the third story chimney and completed the work in two work days. The project included: grinding out the deteriorated mortar of this older chimney built in 1922, re-tuck pointing it, replacing damaged bricks, pouring a new overhanging cap with tinted concrete (old cap was smaller than the brick chimney), cleaning the roof and lawn thoroughly. They completed the project as I requested and expected.
