Great workmanship & finished floor is stunning!

They were VERY professional and thorough. The result was beautiful!!

It really looked nice and professionally done - everything was cleaned up great. He left with me products that he used and charged me for.

It went well. There was no extra fee.

It wasn't a good one. He came to our house and I wasn't comfortable with the way he was speaking. I didn't know it was a coupon. I got him in the door and that was what he said. I thought that for 2 hours, he could do some work. He said there's nothing in my house to do 2 hours worth of work and it will take 4 to 6 hours for anything that I asked for. I didn't get anything. He came to the house. It took a while for us to match up our times because he's really busy. I didn't have a problem with that. He came on Saturday. He was pleasant and everything. It seemed like a scam to me. He didn't do any work at all. He did respond.

Jim was very professional and caring! We were impressed at how well they paid attention to detail and worked to make sure we were totally satisfied! They actually created a tent in our kitchen to contain the dust and debris during the tear out process. We would definitely use them again

They were very punctual. The first time they came, they did a wonderful job but later on when he was including the son, quality was not as up to the market as when he worked alone the first time. The work was not as good as I hoped it would be. There are still some issues I am hoping to call them one more time to fix that. Their price is high.

His workmanship was great. They were very clean and punctual. They were courteous and professional. He brought some small repairs to my attention. and fixed those for me. He showed up with a helper who I did not feel like was a skilled tradesman. I was charge $55 per hour for both laborers anyway. I kind of thought the price was a bit high.

It took much longer than I hoped because the damage was much more extensive than I first thought. Jim and Joe were respectful of my home and my comfort.by being on time and protecting everything from tracking and dust.

We have an older house from the 1960s. We pulled the old carpet and found some damaged tiles around the threshold of the slider. It didn't look like it would be difficult to install some replacement tiles myself so I bought some tile that looked like it would blend nicely with the existing floor. Upon further consideration, I decided to have this done professionally. I used Angie's site to locate a contractor and found the special from McDowell's, as if it were meant to be. My husband dealt with the process at the house, said Jim was great. And I can tell you, he did a fantastic job. I am very pleased with the outcome and I will use them in the future.

I chose McDowell's Tile & Sons because the vast majority of reviewers praised the quality, professionalism, cleanliness, and attention to detail. Jim's quote to do the job was more than I wanted to spend... so we talked about it and came up with a price we could both live with! I really appreciated his willingness to work with me and make suggestions to make it more affordable. Let me just add... I have never witnessed or been involved in a project that generated less of a mess. Jim and Joe work together seamlessly. Everything went very smoothly. I would definitely hire them again and recommend them to friends. Thank you Jim and Joe!! Great job!

It went OK. They ended up charging more than they said that they would, it was doubled. It ended up being more than the big deal because of the scope of the project. The quote on Angie's List was for one person and if two people were going to be required for the job, it was going to be a higher rate. He brought two people the first day without looking at it. I think that was where the confusion was. He did let us know that he was going to need a second person to be able to do the job. We prepared for it. It would have been nice if he had been honest about the price.

The tub area had cracked grout and cracked and discolored caulking when I bought the house. After the work by McDowell's tile the shower area looks bright and clean and brand new! It's also much easier to keep clean. A great job!

I paid for the 4 hour special to lay tile for a 5 1/2' x 5 1/2' bathroom. The cement backer board was already in place with the thin set. All that was needed was the tile to be laid, grouted and the door trimmed. It took 2 men 8 hours each (total of 16 hours of work) to tile a 5 1/2' x 5 1/2' bathroom. They must have hit the wall with a tile because the newly painted wall had a good size dent in it. I had to hire someone to come back in and trim the door again because it wasn't opening properly. I have since hired another company to come in and tile my front door entrance, closet and master bathroom. The new company's price cost me approximately $150 less in man hours plus that price also includes installation of the cement backer board. The floor that McDowell's Tile installed looks very nice, but i feel I have been completely taken advantage of.

Their clean up was good. The way he managed his crew and the crew itself was good. The service was great. He did really great work. I may have him do work for me in the near future.

Jim and his crew did a great job. He actually apologized for being 1 minute late - I'm all too used to contractors being 2 hours late, and wouldn't accept his apology :). His helper got right to work as soon as I pointed out the first job, while Jim and I discussed the other jobs. He told me exactly what he was going to do, what materials would be required. They did a nice job matching existing colors and even improving the cosmetics of some of the work of the original installer (not Jim), who had not done as good of a job. He was professional, friendly, and they cleaned up everything better than I would have done it myself. His final accounting of hours worked was very fair, and we were very satisfied with his work. We would use him again and recommend him.

It was good. For two months, he was able to give me a bid after that. He came over and did a very good job. I like the job he did but it was expensive.

It went well. We had him do the work and it was much more expensive than we had anticipated but it was outstanding quality. That initial purchase was just really coming out and quoting. I think it was 2 hours of actual labor and a tile job that was just scratching the surface. For the price, my grading could be unfair because I didn't compare them. They could be completely comparable to other ceramic tile companies but we had a miscommunication where he thought it was a certain amount per hour and we figured that when we were budgeting for the job. He had two men on the job and essentially the labor was doubled. I liked the quality of workmanship. I'd bid through them in the future and I don't think I'd use them for tile work. I think they should provide a written quote encompassing all labor costs within the job. The workers were very good and left the area spotless.

He was punctual, neat and professional. He gave explanations of what he was going to do, and some pointers to watch for. He cleaned up afterwards and left us with a positive impression. The work was well done.

I had no issue with Jim he was excellent it was my plans that changed. Jim was top notch very helpful and informative. He was very punctual and professional as well.

Matched color of old grout and tile. workmanship was careful and clean up excellent. Did only what was asked, pointed out some areas that need repair that we had not noticed. Mr. McDowell was very pleasant, prompt and professional. We were very pleased with his service and would definitely use him again and recommend him. He was very professional and knowledgable.

It went very well. At the start it was explained to me that to get the floor level more material may be required. As the project progressed I was very impressed with the attention to detail. Each day Jim would explain his progress for that day and his expectation of what he hopes to accomplish for the next day.

Great service, done to our satisfaction. No problem and no issues.
