Description of Work: We had our shower re-caulked. The job was done in a timely fashion and professionally. We were pleased with the outcome. We would definitely use McDowell in the future.

Description of Work: The provider did come on time. However, did not have the equipment needed to perform the task. Needed to purchase the needed items. The 2 hours I purchased was eaten up because the provider needed to go to 3 different places to buy what he felt he needed. In addition, I had to pay for what he purchased which was $60.00. the final outcome was my 2 hours were used prior to starting the job. the job took longer than what I planned and the total came to $260.00 plus the $99.00 I paid prior to starting the job. I would not use again even though the work was satisfactory.

Description of Work: reset hearth tiles. laid out tarps and cleaned up all mess. friendly. personable. good job on tiles.

Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal but ended up not using the service because I didn't care of the person who came to my home.

Description of Work: Finished tiling the bath in basement, including the ceiling in the shower. Tiled around my gas log fireplace. Excellent workmanship.

Description of Work: The grout in our tub was in serious need of replacing. Jim not only replaced it, but cleaned the tile, sealed the new grout, and left our tub looking better than new. The work took several hours longer than I originally expected, but Jim and his assistant worked diligently, tirelessly, quietly, and carefully, cleaning up completely after each stage of the process. It was not only a pleasure having him work on this project, but we are absolutely thrilled with the results. Two months later, the tub still looks better than new. If/when we need tiling/grouting done again, he's the person we would call. We have already heartily recommended him to our friends.

Description of Work: Replaced exterior wall covering fireplace exhaust from the ground level to the roof of the house. Some repair of the roof shingles where is joined the new wall was also required. The work was performed during a very rainy week and Jim took great care in sealing the work as he worked on it between rain storms. He also did a great job of communicating when he was available to complete the work and he worked Saturday and Sunday to complete the work in a timely manner because of weather delays.

Description of Work: This is the 2nd time I purchased a coupon with McDowell's tile since I was so happy with his first visit. He would have done the work this weekend if I was ready for him. I need to purchase a bar to install and he'll be over as soon as I contact him when I get it. |

Description of Work: Outside deck had lots of rot. Jim removed the damaged boards and replaced them with new. He was able to remove all the damage and install the new deck boards so they had better drainage to prevent future rot. He was a pleasure to work with. Maintained a clean work site and was very careful to avoid any additional costs . He showed up on time and worked quickly. I would definitely hire him again.

Description of Work: Jim is a QUALITY craftsman ceramic tile installer. He has done a complete tear-out and reinstall of our master bath shower, installed a mexican tile backsplash in our kitchen and installed new tile in our swimming pool. All jobs were done with immaculate attention to detail. He is always on time, always cleans up and gives accurate estimates. He has also done a recent "handyman" job and re-set a shower door, with his usual attention to detail and always wanting to get it right.
