Knights Grading & Excavating

Could not be happier. We had an issue with a septic system backup the day after Christmas. Bob Knight himself answered our emergency call in a few hours after we contacted his company. He spent all afternoon troubleshooting the issue and solved it.

Bob and his crew worked hard and efficiently to replace the orangeburg pipe that was installed when our house was built. Bob arranged his schedule so that we were able to be home at the time of the excavating and could see the work being done. This meant a lot to us. His crew did the work in two days and took care to leave our yard level and seeded. I highly recommend Knight's Grading and Excavating.

The main water line busted in Februray when it was bitter cold and icy. Bob was out within a hour digging through 3 feet of snow and ice to find where to shut off the water at the street. He and his crew put in a new line then and there. They came back this summer to grade and seed the soil. Very, Very friendly, personable and competent !!! My situtation was an emergency and they treated as such.............Great Company !!!

Highly recommended! Prompt response, good team, professional attitude and finished the project one day early. We had a sewer separation at our home in Ann Arbor; deep sewer location – not an easy problem to resolve. Bob was very sensitive to our situation. He was very responsive all the way through the process. He came out on a Sunday to inspect the job and gave us a quote in less than 24 hours. The work started that same week and was completed within three days, despite the rain. The job required cutting down a tree and we asked them to cut it up for firewood, which they did for us. They finished quickly and did great work. They replaced the concrete sidewalk they had torn up and reseeded our lawn when they were finished.

I got an estimate which I accepted and a date was given to start. He was a few days late getting started due to other emergency work; this did not bother me. He employed a bulldozer and an excavator; the operators did a good job and I was satisfied with the job. The seeding of the cleared land was also done with his machines and covered with straw.

Bob came out the same day I called and was able to schedule the work for the next business day. He was very frank and professional for the estimate. The crew was prompt and friendly; seemed to work well with City team. Bob himself did work too. Trenched and replaced pipe; finished up the job nicely -- replaced sidewalk WELL, covered upturned mud with straw, and even added an extension to our drainpipe just to help with basement dampness. High quality and professional.

They got the job done they said they would do and were on-time and professional. The service was the best and I would hire them again.

I had two large pine trees in my front yard and I really liked that they went out of their way to avoid permanently damaging those trees so I didn't lose either of the pine trees. All the other companies said they would have to remove at least one of them. They had the lowest price of the 3 companies that I contacted but it still seemed a little expensive.

We were pleased with everything they did. We didn't go with them but it wasn't because of the quote. It was because of the way they wanted to do the job.

Couldn't have possibly gone better. Bob Knight and his crew were extremely professional, detail oriented when it came to clean-up and priced right. I had a few guys give me quotes on replacing my sewer line. While Bob's prices weren't much different than the other guys, he was able to do more than just dig a big hole and replace the old pipe with new PVC. He also put down new cement where the sidewalk had to be pulled up and did a great job grading the yard. I checked out some of the other guys' work, and they left a big mound of dirt piled up in the yard, whereas Bob not only compacted the disturbed topsoil, but also graded it down to level and put down hay and seed. Top notch job. I will definitely be calling him for any other grading, excavating or sewer needs I have in the future.
