We had Upper Level Construction renovate our kitchen, family room, and bathroom due to a black mold/faulty issue. We would NOT recommend them. The Project Manager was disorganized and unaware of what step of the process was being completed at any given time. He left us for 6 months without a working bathroom and an exposed, rapidly decaying subfloor. He told us to buy the supplies ASAP and they sat in our garage for six months. Due to the delay, we almost lost our insurance claim AND insurance coverage because the repairs weren’t made in a timely manner. He had staff perform electrical and plumbing that they were not qualified to perform and did incorrectly. We had to hire another plumber to fix their code violations greatly increasing the cost of the reno. When they did contract a plumber, he had a huge argument with his boss, and the boss fired him onsite. The fired plumber stormed out and then returned hours later entering our house without knocking and finished the job. The project manager often did not return our messages and rarely was available to answer our questions. When we did get a hold of him, his story concerning the issues changed each time, making us wonder if we ever really knew the truth. In fact, we caught him in several lies. The staff themselves have the capability of doing a good job; however, it seems like management doesn’t give them enough time to finish project steps in a quality manner. As a result, the final product is haphazardly thrown together complete with damage to our brand-new cabinets, huge gouges in our walls, and missed project steps. We have spent endless hours of time fixing their mistakes. There is no attention to detail or craftsmanship. They did offer to fix the mistakes, but after so many failed attempts, we no longer trusted them to come into our house. They used our garage taking full advantage of our table saw without asking. When asked about it, they said they didn’t feel like dragging out their own tools. They trashed our garage and didn’t clean it up. After receiving the final bill, the project manager couldn’t/wouldn’t break down the charges for us. They charged us an exorbitant amount of money to remove the floor tile. We asked them to breakdown the price into labor and cost of disposal. They refused to do so leading me to wonder if they’re price gouging. I am also shocked at how rudely they treated us when we told them about issues with the final product. The president/founder had the secretary send us a threatening email basically saying we just had to deal with it because we signed a contract. So much for customer service! There were some pros: the recommended kitchen designer and tiler were amazing and did an excellent job.

It went very well. I, of course, made some changes along the way and was accomadated very nicely. With the new footings in place and a beefy framing job done, the electrician and garage door installers were quick to get their work done too. I had many options for lighting both in front and back of the structure. I appreciate Brians suggestion of large double doors to the rear of my property, I hadn't thought it through but he did and I couldn't be happier. The brick work in the front really tied the structure together with the rest of the house.
Description of Work: I had a carport with the front entrance to my house in it. I wanted a enclosed garage with an separate entrance for the front door. After some discussion with suggestions from Brian, I was able to get what I wanted. After Brian and Tom got all the permits, work started quickly. They broke up concrete and poured 7 new footings and built the new garage with sturdy framing.
