We had a little scheduling hiccup in the beginning, but got them to come out a little later that same day. Nice couple guys came out and troubleshooted the problem, at the end they thought it might be the water heater, but weren't sure. A year later I changed the water heater and the noise stopped. They only charged me nominally since they could not put their finger on the cause. 874

He did a great job and pointed out an area of our drain stack that was improperly installed. We will definitely call him to fix the stack problem.

The tub and shower do not work. I asked him to put the receipt under my mother's name which is where the work was being done. He said there would be no problem in changing the receipt but he has not done it yet or contacted me.

I cancelled my order and he graciously provided a refund. It was not our drain that was the problem; it was our septic tank. He had sympathy and returned our payment.

Because we had to coordinate the service call with a temporary shut-off, of the water, by the city timing was important. Mr. Hairston and his apprentice Gary arrived within approximately 15 minutes of our calling them, once the shut-off had occurred. They explained to us what work would be done and took approximately 35 minutes to complete the job. Before completing the work we were told that it was 'ok' to call to have the water restored. That meant that we were able to spend less time waiting for the city to come back out. As we had read in other reviews before, the area worked in was cleaned at the completion of the job. Mr. Hairston offered to send our receipt via email and was willing to accept whatever form of payment we wanted ( cash, check or charge). He invited us to contact him if anything else needed addressing. He was pleasant and polite as was Gary his apprentice.

It only took an hour for the repairs so the inconvenience was minimal. I would use them again and recommend their services to others.

Hairston plumbing did an excellent job. They were very punctual, professional, and left the area clean. Top notch.

We had a back-up in the basement & Mike came out as scheduled to fix it. He snaked the drain and gave us some suggestions for root killer. Unfortunately, as he fully admitted, his equipment wasn't quite what was needed for this job, as our drain has a root growing thru it. It was a temporary fix. When it backed up again a month later, he connected us with a business associate of his who had appropriate equipment. The associate came out as scheduled & worked quickly. We also used the suggested root killer that time & we have not had a problem since. The root is a known ongoing issue, and we will use Mike again in the future. He is a super nice guy, and very pleasant to work with.

The work I wanted to do, they didn't do. It was more of a bathroom shower door repair, instead of a real plumbing exercise. When we finally connected via phone, they declined the job. I'm still holding on to this plumbing Deal and plan to use it in the future.

I called him back to cancel, because a plumber I had spoke to earlier showed up to handel the problem.

It turned out ok. He was very good in the fact that the first time he came out he did not have proper equipment but he was good enough to come back and try again with heavier equipment. The job was not successfully completed but I would give him an A for effort.

Professional, responsive, completed job in a timely fashion as promised. Quality work, reliable. Will definitely use this company in the future.

Contractor snaked basement drain and added air admittance value in basement to eliminate water flow problem. This appeared to fix the problem, but after one day problem fully re-appeared. Since I had paid him and he did give me a guarantee on his work, tried to call Michael Hairston several times over several days and even left messages, but received no call back. Also tried emailing him, but no response or call back. After waiting a week, decided to go with another plumbing contractor to fix the problem. Contractor diagnosed the problem being caused by a blockage in the basement floor drain, but used a much larger head on the drain snake than did Hairston Plumbing to clear out the problem and pulled out plenty of debris. This fixed the problem and drains now work as expected. While Michael Hairston is a well spoken and friendly guy, he didn't fix the problem nor honor his warranty and I'm out $200. As importantly, he didn't have the right equipment (e.g., the larger drain snake head) to fix the problem in the first place. Would definitely NOT use him again!

Still have slow drains. Wasn't money well spent. Won't be using them again.

, charged $45.00 for work on toilet. Requested itemized receipt...was told that he would e-mail it. NEVER RECEIVED. CALLED TO LET HIm KNOw. Was told that they would be back to check...never happened. Wrote them a letter explaining my concerns and that I would not recommend them...said that he would return the $45.00...did not.. The money return was not my reason for calling...rather the absolute failure of performance.

He was very helpful and we are asking for him to do more work.

I spoke with the plumber through someone I knew then found a deal on Angie's List. He came out and took a look at the work I needed, but has yet to email an estimate. It has been nine days since we spoke.

First service went smoothly. There was an after-the-fact issue (not his fault) that needed a return visit. He was back in a couple days. A 2nd job went smoothly and was completed according to schedule. Sometimes he runs behind schedule, having to reschedule another day. I'm not sure about the value as I didn't really get a quote on what the services would have cost without the package (on the first visit), The 2nd visit, he completed for the quoted amount.

It was great and it was exactly what the problem was. He also fixed some leaky plumbing in my bathrooms, the two showers, and one of my faucets in the bathroom. He did a good thorough job and I appreciated that.

they were so prompt, so courteous and efficient. Fit us in the same day we called, and fixed our problem quickly. Definitely an A rating all around!

This company has been very hard to get in touch with and to get anything scheduled. They never called or reached out to me once I had purchased the Big Deal. I had to call him. I have asked for a refund as it's not worth the hassle.

First I have to express my appreciation for their professionalism. The repair had to happen while my wife was home alone with them and they made her feel very comfortable. The repair was done quickly and above expectations. At the beginning they quoted me a price of $235, but once they got into it they realized it wasn't as bad as they thought and dropped the price to $185. I will definitely use them again any time I have a unbothered issue.

Mike was great. He was super responsive and was able to fit me into his schedule with hardly any notice. After he took a look at the plumbing issues we were having he provided me with a couple different options with varying costs. He took care of exactly what we wanted done and was finished in under two hours, prices were reasonable too. Plus he was a super nice guy, I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a plumber in the metro-Detroit area.
