BEWARE OF Great Lakes Fence; the are unethical price gouging crooks, I am a disabled senior citizen and called Great Lake Fence for an estimate to install a 5ft black chain link fence at my residence. Thank God I did my due diligence and got 3 estimates, only to learn Great Lake Fence’s estimate was over double the cost at $16,000, where the other 2 estimates came in a $6,000 and $6,800. I went with Kimberly Fence and they did a magnificent job. Stay away from Great Lake Fence as well as businesses displaying the Great Lake Fence emblem plate, unethical price gouging crooks think alike.

I called to get an estimate on a wrought iron fence and asked about financing. I set up an appt for 7-21 around 1 pm. I received a call 20 minutes before 1 on 7-21 stating no one was in my area and would not be able to make it out. I believe that because I have a fair credit rating instead of a good rating they didn't want to bother with me. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

I tried to contact this provider for a fencing job using the email button thru Angie's list. They never answered me back.

Company is very busy, so must be for large jobs. Mine was a small one, for which I needed an estimate. I waited nearly a week for a call-back and had to be the one to follow-up. Phone estimate was quite high for the work to be performed. Estimator turned out to be the owner, who acted like he didn't need or want the business, so I walked.

Will not be using them for our fencing needs due to unreasonable cost.

Overall the experience was great. I would suggest that the company upgrade to digital technology and use the internet to provide pictures, instead of a polaroid and snail mail. That would speed up the process for those that require pictures of completed work.

The cost was way more than I expected. I don't know the cost to the company for material, but still, I wanted a lot more fence at the start for my back yard than fifty-six feet. I purchased it anyway because next door to me is a empty lot the neighbor bought and kids from the neighborhood play soccor ball and such from time to time and my house and lawn needed quick protection! The work was done by the father and son who are also part of the family ownership. The work was very professional. My only complaint was the price and the approximetely 4 weeks it took to come out with the fence. They explained they had to order the fence and that took time and also they had other jobs in front of me. That was understandable but for the price I was paying it kind of upset me and and made me feel not as important as a customer. The fence is beautiful but not enough of it. I would use this company again IF the prices become more reasonable for me.

I emailed the company and received a call back that a salesperson would call within 48 hours. I thought that was pretty long time for a call back. I called the company the next day, hoping to talk to the salesperson but was told that I was assigned a salesperson and that he would call in a day. I didn't get a call until 48 hours after I initiated the email. I was pretty disappointed with the responsiveness to just to request a quote on the job. Once Ed came buy he was professional and measured the two small areas and asked my preferences. He explained what would be done and how the gate for the driveway would swing in and out. (my driveway was really small) Unfortunately the price quoted for the job (compared to another company) was $240 more. I couldn't believe that chain link fence for two small areas would be quoted for $840!!

I called them back in March for the estimate, however because we had to go through the neighborhood association and make some changes to the proposal the fence was not installed until July. They installed a very nice aluminum fence and they did a good job. I felt that the price was reasonable for the work.

The price seemed a little high, but the workmanship and creative problem solving were first class. I would definitely use them again.

They need to improve service on installation. Check out product before putting up defects. They have not returned to fix gate lever. Salesman was friendly. Should have checked sections before coming out. Did not ask which side of gate to open. Said would come back & change. Has not fixed problem. Make sure to look over work carefully before they leave.

THE COMPANY WAS ON TIME. I AM HAPPY WITH MY NEW FENCE. I WOULD USE THEM AGAIN FOR A JOB WELL DONE. THE PRICE WAS AFFORDABLE AND THEY DID NOT MAKE A MESS.

THEY DID A BETTER JOB THAN OTHER COMPANIES THAT I HAVE USED IN THE PAST. THEY DID VERY GOOD WORK. THE FENCE IS VERY STURDY. I AM VERY THANKFUL FOR THAT BECAUSE I HAVE DOGS.

WHEN WE CONTACTED GREAT LAKES FENCE COMPANY TO PUT UP OUR FENCE THEY RESPONDED RATHER QUICKLY. THEY CLEANED UP THEIR OWN MESS AND PROPERLY DISPOSED OF THE OLD FENCE.

THEY CAME RIGHT OUT THE DAY AFTER I CALLED THEM. THE PRICE WAS FAIR. THEY DID A GREAT JOB AND YOU CAN'T EVEN TELL WHERE IT WAS HIT. I REALLY LIKE THE QUALITY OF THEIR WORK.

THEY CAME OUT WITH THE RIGHT TYPE OF FENCE. THEY WERE ON TIME. THEY DID THE JOB CORRECTLY AND IT WAS INSTALLED IN ONE DAY. THEY ARE VERY CLEAN AND FAST.
