COOPER'S MOVING AND STORAGE INC

I have moved several different times in my life and this company is the most professional movers I have ever used. There were two movers and they arrived on time and were very friendly and professional. They did everything I ask them to do with no hesitation. I have a sofa bed that is very heavy and they did not charge me extra for moving it. They put everything were I wanted and placed the moving boxes very nicely where ever I wanted them. They were fast and didn’t take all day to load and unload. I will definitely use them again if I choose to move.

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!! The second set of workers were rude, unprofessional and unwilling to do the contracted work. They attempted to up the price, damaged my wall, damaged furniture, they stole items and the owner will not return my calls nor text messages. They complained the entire time about wanting to go home and being tired. They only worked 45 minutes of the contracted 2 hours. I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN AND YOU SHOULD NOT EITHER.

I have a lot to say about them and none of it is good. I got them from Angie’s List. They did work for two days. I spent $2,487 on the job. Part of their contract stated that they would pack up the stuff apart from moving it. They did a very poor job of that. They would just throw stuff in. I had china, which have been preserved since 1967 and which do not have a chip or a crack on them. I told them that I expected them to find the china in the same condition when it reached my mother’s house. I have a greyhound and my gate is padlocked, bungee-corded; etc. They left the gate wide open. I had to go to the hospital the same day that they finished up the work. My husband informed me that my dog was out running down the street because the gate was left open. The biggest thing was they took the stuff over to the house and two days later my neighbor informed me that my china cabinet was in the backyard. It was expensive china. I called these people and told them that I was very upset. It had rained two nights in a row. I told them that if they had had a problem they should have let me know. One of the guys replied that he could not get the front door open. I told them that all they had to do was go through the back door, get inside, and open the front door. That was all I heard about the topic. I called their office and the young lady on the phone was nice. They did not help me out in any manner, though. I asked them to plug the cabinet in and find out if the electricity on top of it (where the lights were) was working perfectly. Nobody bothered to volunteer. They took all the boxes and piled them so high in the basement that the boxes reached the ceiling. When I reached the bottom of the stair steps, I could not get into the laundry room. The living room was full of boxes as well, which could have been the reason for not getting the china cabinet in. They had filled the space up before they could attempt to bring the cabinet in. The cabinet had come apart in two pieces. I was told that these guys were in business for 15 years. The girl on the phone told me that they would do something about the situation. I told her that I expected them to give some of my money back. Even before the day was over, they had taken the money from my account. They took more money than the contract called for just to make sure that I had enough money in my account. They told me that $2300 was an estimated amount. I told them that the guy had given me the estimate after evaluating my house thoroughly. He knew what needed to be packed up. Another guy told me that the packing materials would cost about $350. Later, he charged me about $450. They tried to tell me that the later was an estimated amount. I told them that the contract stated that it would be $350 only. Also, there were things that I could not find. Even while doing the packing, the things were not to be found. I do not want to get into the subject matter because I cannot prove it. They called me a few days ago to ask if they could move the china cabinet into the house. I asked them as to where they would put it as the room was filled with boxes. My cousins had made enough room for a path to get me in on my power chair. I would give these guys the lowest rating. I would not recommend them to anybody. I heard that the 3-4 guys were suspended by the company. I had used this company because they are a family-owned business. They were punctual, though. The head of the team was nice. He did not get ugly with me, but he did not want to touch the ashes of my pets, pack them, and take them. The ashes were in urns, and I took them out myself. They were pleasant enough, but they asked me for tips even after my husband had given them $50. I told them the things that I wanted done. They would listen politely, but they would not do it. I had asked them to leave behind the dining room furniture, but they took the chairs to the house. Now, I have no clue where the chairs are. I am sure I will not find them soon. They were not professional at all. They went upstairs in the house and left the lights on. Also, they left the doors of the china cabinet wide open, when they did not have to open it at all. The ladies at the office were professional, though. They had a lot of empathy for my situation. The guy, who owned the company, was not great. He got a little upset with me. As far as the price was concerned, they took the most that they could take. I will never use them again; not even if they are the last moving company on earth.

They gave me an estimate for moving and storage and once they had my items in storage they upped the price by 3 times the amount quoted. They came to deliver my items and told me that before they unload the truck they would need to have full payment of services and if I didn't want to pay them they would charge me for another day of moving fees even though they only had a partial load of my items. They were also supposed to move my pool table and pin ball machine and assemble these items. They dropped off my pool table without all of the parts and it has been 2 months without it being assembled. They also broke one of my patio tables and took my doors off the hinges without leaving me the pins. The pin ball machine is also broken. $850 for move, $915 storage for one month and a partial, and $915 unload.
