Josh Lankfer did an outstanding job. Shed was fully power washed the day prior to painting it. The deck has not been power washed so thoroughly in decades.

To Whom It May Concern RE: College Works Painting On a Saturday morning my doorbell rang. I went to the front door to answer it and was greeted by very sharp you man who introduced himself as Ben Devries, a representative of College Works Painting. He explained his business, clearly articulated his business plan, the products and services, and his personal goals in taking on this summer business between college semesters. Then he asked if I had painting needs. My first reponse was “no” then I asked if they stained decks and he affirmed they did. I showed him my deck and asked him to give me a quote. His quote was very fair and I accepted it, so we scheduled a date, then selected a type of stain and the color from a huge range of options. Ben and his crew arrived on the appointed date, they power washed all surfices to be stained. Staining the deck meant top to bottom, inside and out, a job I had been putting off for months due to the complexity and time and effort required to comeplete it. The guys dug in and completed the entire project in a day and a half. They did a quality job, covering every inch inside out, up, down, and around. They were professional and deligent in completing the work and exceeded my expectations of the job and how they went about completing it. Ben and crew can be proud of their work, done on time, at a fair price, and being very easy to work with. Luke was a pleasure to work with. He showed tremendous patience with me when it came to scheduling because I was remodeling parts of my garage and had to go later in the summer. He color matched my house to get perfectly matched colors. Everything was prepped well and thoroughly cleaned. The outcome is great and I am very happy with everything. Very easy!

Luke did a great job ensuring we'd be happy with the color match. His work was on time, handled well, and all was done neatly. Communications with us were excellent in terms of when to expect him and how long each step of the process would take. Very pleased!

Tommy Barton and his crew were excellent! I had my three story house painted, along with the trim and soffits. They spray washed my house, scraped, patched and painted it. They showed up when promised, finished the job in four days as projected, cleaned up every night and then walked me around to show me what was completed and what was to be accomplished the following day. Very polite and hard working college guys!

Luke contacted us in person at our house. He came out and gave us a frees painting estimate accompanied by his District Manager Adam. Luke was very responsible in keeping us in the loop on when the job would be done. We also requested that our house be painted early in the summer and Luke made it happen. Luke and his crew were very punctual and worked diligently to complete the project. Over all my wife and I are very satisfied with the final appearance of our home.

Luke was professional from our first encounter, he was very clear about what the job would entail and cost. The work was done completely professionally and completed on time. Luke's attention to detail is exceptional. I would recommend him and his work.

We had a very good experience with Luke. He first approached us this past winter while he was on break from school, lining up jobs that would be done over his summer break. These individuals are chosen by the College Works Painting organization and trained to approach potential clients, estimate jobs, hire a crew and provide the service. Although he had no experience with house painting, we were impressed by his motivation (he returned to the area on several weekends during the school year to make further arrangements) and desire to provide a positive experience. While we were a little apprehensive at the lack of practical painting experience, we decided to go ahead with the contract. It went very well. We were able to coordinate the job with some landscaping work, and Luke and his crew worked diligently to finish in the required time. They showed up on schedule every day, worked all day and were very pleasant and respectful. Before leaving each day Luke provided a summmary of the day's work and what was planned for the next day. They cleaned up the area before leaving each day. The paint color we chose was pretty close to the original color and at certain times of the day it was very difficult to see areas that needed touch up. After the job was done we found some places on one wall that needed attention and Luke came back and took care it as we let him know about it. He was a pleasure to work with and I would recommend him and his crew if you are considering exterior painting.

a bunch of crooks. I was traveling and could not check on everything they did every day but I found out later that they did not power wash the entire house. They were supposed to take care of removing chipped paint, they did not. One window did not get painted. They left paint all over the grass in my backyard and on the deck. Less then one year later and the paint everywhere is chipping and falling off.

College Works power washed and stained our deck in July of 2007. When the snow melted the following March, we realized the stain/paint was peeling off our deck. After numerous calls from March until July of 2008 during which they cited that their warranty did not cover decks and horizontal surfaces, they finally did come out and repaint/stain our deck. They paid for labor and we paid for the stain. As of now, Oct 2008, the deck still looks good. We'll see how it holds up when the snow melts next spring.........

We contacted College Works Painting, contract in hand, which states at the top "Two Year Written Warranty of Quality". Eric Rose also wrote "All Sherwin Williams Paints and Stains are Guaranteed!" However, in small print at the bottom of the contract it states, "Decks and Galvanized Metal are not covered under this Warranty." College Works Painting certainly stands by this last statement and will do nothing to fix our deck which looks like it was painted 10+ years ago. We paid $967 for one season of deck use and are filing this report so other people not to make the same mistake we did.

Our contract was signed in February, with the work expected to commence in June and be completed that month. Work started 5/15 -- whereupon it rained all week. Many requests from us to wait, but they insisted they knew how to do it properly. After repeatedly getting told to stop, I refused start on 5/22 -- allowed on 5/23 More rain delayed the painting. Many days they showed up late in the day, and did an hour or so of work before packing up. On 6/5 Brandon started working at 7:30 at night. At 10:30, he rang the doorbell and insisted he was to be paid. I refused to accept paying without being able to see the results, discussed with Brandon, then region supervisor Andrew on 6/6. Agreed to meet with Andrew on 6/8 and decided they were unlikely to do a better job. I was basically worn out with all their pressure to be done and did not want to have to subject my family to them any longer. Work completed.
