We take great pride in our experience, expertise, quality, and customer service that we provide to meet the consumer's needs. It is our mission to provide excellent workmanship and complete customer satisfaction, from the start to the completion of a project. In order to understand the needs and expectations of our customers, we take great care to work and communicate with every customer in a professional manner. Our reputation is based on service, safety, and quality, regardless of how large or small the job.
"Retaining Wall Systems is knowledgeable of the Unilock products, but if you expect to have your project completed, value work ethic, desire a contractor with integrity, or your project requires a precision build or knowledge of applicable building codes, Retaining Wall Systems is not the right company for you. The owner appears to be a hard worker who isnâ t afraid of getting his hands dirty on the jobsite or work with his team to develop know-how, but in our experience, he is immature in running a business, unsuccessful in managing customer expectation, unable to manage schedules, completing construction to a plan, or seeing a project through to completion. We hired Retaining Wall Systems for what we felt was a complex large job of installing a multi-level retaining wall, brick walk, and at the owners recommendation (Josh), replacing a wood deck porch with a brick solution to tie into the walk. It was a precise design, with specifications with little tolerance for error and taking into consideration tight clearances for property boundaries, existing grades, an existing driveway and the building material itself. Nothing completed was exactly as designed, some which might be expected with on the job compromises after things get started, but sections of the build are off by as much as 2 feet from the design, including work extending beyond the property line. Yes, it complements the house, and if you drive by, you probably do not notice the issues. But, since we were intimately involved with the design, and live here, we notice them. Other professionals that are familiar with hardscape work have noticed them. In addition to be gaslit by the owner on multiple occasions during the overall project, he abandoned the last piece of our job, leaving our front door unaccessible, our house at risk of water damage, and structural risk to a porch roof. We had to seek out an alternate contractor and solution to rescue the condition he left the job in, to include working with the local building inspector to ensure we remained compliant with building codes. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend working with Retaining Wall Systems."

The average cost of a gravel driveway is about $1.25 to $2 per square foot, including the cost of materials, equipment, and professional installation. For example, a 16-by-30-foot driveway costs about $1,500. Cost factors include the type of gravel, how thick the gravel is installed, the condition of the landscape, and labor costs. Overall costs will vary depending on where you live and how accessible the job site is.
A gravel driveway should be at least 4 to 6 inches deep, depending on the soil it’s installed on. Softer soil that doesn’t drain well should have a deeper gravel driveway. Deeper gravel will mean you spend more on materials and labor, but you’ll get a more stable driveway and avoid damage that needs to be filled or graded flat again.
Because gravel moves, it requires different maintenance than asphalt or concrete. Here are a few maintenance tips for your gravel driveway. Every few years (or as often as needed):
Grade and level your driveway
Rake to fill holes and ruts
Compact any refilled potholes
Remove weeds with herbicide or by hand
Spray it with water to reduce the amount of dust kicked up
Avoid using a snowplow during winter months
A gravel driveway should last for up to 100 years with proper upkeep, which is minimal. Maintaining a gravel driveway includes grading and adding fresh gravel to fill in potholes. Otherwise, a gravel driveway holds up well to all kinds of weather. Plowing in the winter can be challenging and the gravel can develop ruts or potholes that need to be repaired, but the cost and longevity of gravel compared to concrete, asphalt, and pavers makes gravel an economical option, especially for long and/or wide driveways.
