Bruce took photos of all of our house's rooms, showing exactly where the cold was coming in. He also gave me a lot of advice on how to seal up the cracks. Bruce promptly e-mailed me his detailed report, including photos of all of the rooms showing the cool spots.

Good. Was expecting more of a prioritized list of items to do that would save us energy usage in the future. However, we were just given a report with some audit results of heat escape in the house, which was good.

I was able to get an appointment quickly. They were very thorough and provided a detailed report.

Several years ago, we noticed that the wall around the window in our half-bathroom was starting to get soft . We discovered a leak coming in from the roof, down the window and in through the wall. We had a section of the roof replaced, but the leaking continued. The company that repaired the roof came back and tried to fix the repair, but did not succeed. We decided to go on Angie's list to find someone who could determine the problem and fix it. We read the review on Bruce Shively from Metropolitan Home Improvement Company. Bruce responded to our call promptly, and came out to inspect the roof using thermal imaging. He correctly determined the problem and suggested the proper repairs to the roof. He also noticed that the gutters were set wrong. Metropolitan Home Improvement fixed the roof and properlyinstalled new gutters. Rain from the remnants of Hurricane Sandy was heavy, but the window stayed dry. I would recommend Bruce Shively and Metropolitan Home Improvement Co to solve hard-to-find roof leaks.

It was fine, but I recommend a bigger difference in outside to inside temps. The day he came was about 58F,which was odd for January.

Do get a clearly written description of what you are to get as a deliverable. Do get a commitment date for deliverable report. I should have called him and demanded it, but I'm too busy for that nonsense. I'm out $150. Don't pay for it in advance.

Everything went very well. I was very pleased. He was very thorough and explained what he was going to do. He was very friendly and professional. He was also very timely and easy to work with and he answered all of my questions. After receiving the report, I realized there were a couple of images missing and he was more than willing to come back out and take the picture again and he didn't charge me anything to come back out. He went above and beyond the call of duty and what was expected of him.

After getting several quotes, the reason I chose Metropolitan is because Bruce their owner was fixing a couple of my windows that would not lock before I told him he would have the job. This occured when he came over to my house for a free estimate.

Bruce, the owner, was very professional and pleasant to work with. He did what he promised, when he promised, at a reasonable cost.Sorry Bruce, that this took so long

They put the steps on late in the season and they became discolored. I did not finish paying them because the job was not done to my satisfaction. It was in the contract that he would pull a permit for the work which he ended up not doing. This has made it impossible for me to gain any legal leverage on my complaints.

I highly recommend Bruce and his company.The work I needed is in a house that I co-own, although I live in another state. I met Bruce to get the initial estimate and his price was competitive, his explanation of the work to be done was professional and thorough. When I was out of town, Bruce kept me updated, including having to postphone the installation because of inclement weather. But his workmen were there the next Sunday to get the job done. The residents in the house said the installation was amazingly quiet and fast, and the clean-up was great. I felt very confident before the installation, and even more impressed with the results. I plan on using his company again for other projects.

I purchased the thermoscan based on a posting contained on Angie's List Website. I felt comfortable about purchasing something advertised on Angie's List Website. Company owner is very friendly, loves his work, and is very experienced with home improvements.

Appt was scheduled and met promptly. Person was personable during their time in our home. But things went south quickly from there. The promised report was delayed several times finally arriving weeks after the appt. Both infrared pictures were taken and a blower door test was performed. However, when the report finally arrived, no blower door information was anywhere to be found in the report and there were several areas of the home left uncovered in the infrared image report.

Bruce came out after he ran a special on angies list for thermal imaging. He took the time to show us the results that same day. He clearly explained that by insulating the attic our temperature fluctuation would decrease in the house. We would be warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. On the day of the install they came in to the house and laid down tarps to keep our home clean. They checked and double checked for pot lights and let us know of a couple of other issues in the attic as well. They cleaned up completely after they were finished. We are extremely pleased with the entire job. We feel that they went above and beyond all expectations. We highly recommend this company and are thankful they ran a special!

Although I had issues with cold air in our bedroom, Bruce did a thermal scan of most of the house. His scan revealed that the new windows we had put in were doing their job and were keeping the cold air out. He did notice a couple of corners of the door walls where there were some leaks and recommended some caulking. In the bedroom that was cold, Bruce found a couple of areas in the ceiling near the walls that had some insulation problems. He also discovered an area where quite a bit of cold air was coming in along the base board. His camera revealed some water penetration and on closer inspection we found water damage on the walls near two windows. We checked out the exterior flashing around the new windows and found they were not keeping out the wind or water. His camera also revealed a lack of insulation both above and below the windows and made some recommendations on how to fix that with spray foam. Overall, he revealed more issues than I anticipated but most are reasonably simple caulking and insulating repairs. I am expecting an e-mail report from Bruce shortly.

He was very knowledgeable, he was able to articulate what he was doing and why, told us what the options were for improving the house, and he is due to send me a formal report. He was prompt and respected the house. It was a great overall experience.

Overall it was a very good experience from start to finish. from quality of work to cleanup afterward and customer appreciation. These are 3 of the things I look for in a quality company.

The company offered a coupon through Angie s List.A call was made. An appointment was made for the following day.The rep was on time.A scan of the walls and ceiling was completed. A conversation about additional insulation and additional roof venting occured.An estimate was given. The rep was knowlegable. There was no pressure .The courteous professional approach is noted.

They did a great job. I would highly recommend them. They are very easy to work with.
