Contacted 3 companies about roof replacement. Kearns Brothers was the only company to actually go on the roof to measure and take pictures. Gary H. took the time to show us what he found and to explain the GAF roof system that would be installed. The price was competitive with other companies that we talked to. We were given addresses of houses that Kearns had done so we could pick a shingle color. We decided to sign and agreed to an installation date at the beginning of April. They arrived at 9 am on March 30th and were done by 4:30 pm. The crew was polite and professional. The GAF roof system was installed how it was explained to us. They did a pretty good job of cleaning up all of the debris. The roof looks great and I feel good about what was installed. We've had heavy rain and winds since the install and have not had any issues.

It went very well, Kearns had done the roof on my house 3 years ago. I contacted Mike on Thursday afternoon and he came out the following Monday. Mike was great, he wrote up a quote and we went ahead and with the project. Mel called me about 2 weeks later and to set up the Job. Mel kept me updated as we had a day delay due to rain. The crew showed up on time and did an excellent job. Mike called me 2 days later to make sure I was happy and everything had went ok. I also received a thank you e-mail the following day. I have used Kearns in the past and will use them anytime I need something done. They are great to work with. Some might think the price is a little bit higher then others but you get what you pay for and with Kearns you get great service and a great job.

Went very well, crew showed up on time and did a great job with the installation. They took ther time and did a quality job - added intake ventilation at soffit area under eaves and blocked off the gable vents from the inside of attic so that we had a properly balanced ventilated system. Provided the GAF Golden Pledge warranty so I was covered not only by Kearns Bros Inc but also GAF the roofing manufacture. This warranty included a inspection by GAF. I would recommend Kearns Brothers Inc.

Work to install windows started in late September. We had approximately 18 windows to install, and was advised it would take about 3 days. Their two man crew arrived on time on a Monday and dropped off the windows. There was one day it rained so no work was completed and the job was finished in 7 days. The subcontractor showed my wife how the window lock worked on one window. . No one from Kearns or the subcontractor did a complete inspection or walk around with us to sign off on the job. What we discovered the next day was several windows was installed incorrectly and would not lock. They had to come back to reinstall them. Calls made to Kearns initially were never returned, and I made a called to owner Gary Kearns who never called back. Measurements for the siding was incorrect so that delayed that job. Jobs was eventually finished in December. The painters and drapery installers we hired both commented it was one of worst window installment they had seen. I have contracted with several companies who would always have a foreman who would oversee the project and had a checklist for the owners to review to make sure everything was completed to their satisfaction. This did not occur with Kearns.

All chimney work was done before the roof could be done as was the siding on the dormers. This took a day and a half. Everyone was professional & hard working and they cleaned up every day. The roofing & re-decking work took 2 days.

They were very good! They were able to complete the work within a week. They could only do so much before they had to wait for stuff to dry. I thought the pricing was fair.

I felt the need to write this review so I could share my comments about Kearns Brothers and how I would recommend them to anyone that is looking for a good, reliable and honest company. Early 2014, I discovered a major problem inside my home which I had only lived in for a few years. I found that the inside exterior walls were actually sweating during the cold weather. This caused a mold problem on some of the areas which I had to have professionally removed by a specialist. As you can imagine, this was not cheap. During the removal, we found that since this was an old cinder block home, there was NO insulation on or inside the exterior walls. This was the reason for the condensation problem (house was warm and the outside air was very cold). I knew that if I didn't take care of the underlying problem, it was going to happen again. I called a few contractors out (Kearns being one of them) to discuss options. Long story short, the best option was to install the insulation on the outside of my home. I chose to have the contractors submit quotes along with an explanation as to what was going to be done. Though Kearns came in slightly higher, I really felt as though they listened, explained the products, reviewed pro and cons of each of the products and were very confident in their company, staff and end result which is why I chose to have them take on the task! Being a cinder block home, the work was very labor intensive. Here's a brief overview of what had to be done: 1. All existing gutters, downspouts, siding, shutters and window trim was removed and hauled away. 2. Wooden "furring" strips were then installed over the entire structure. 3. 3/4 inch ridged foam board was installed between the furring strips and sealed 4. Structure was completely wrapped with Tyvek. 5. Certainteed insulated siding and soffits were installed. 6. All new custom trim installed (including "boxing" out my windows since the foam and siding added another inch and a half) along with gutters and downspouts. As you can imagine with a job this large, there was quite a bit of materials and supplies that had to be brought onsite. Even with all of this onsite, the crew managed to maintain a clean and organized job site throughout the entire duration. All of my questions were addressed and answered either by the crew that was onsite or someone back at the office. That goes the same for any concerns that I had. This was a job well done and exceeded my expectations. I no longer have the condensation issue in my home and it's much warmer. I would not hesitate to recommend Kearns Brothers to anyone.

I would like to recommend Kearns Bros. Company for roofing and siding work. Early in 2014 I decided to replace my old roof and my sun room siding. Kearns Bros. had completed a project for me a year ago and I was very pleased with their services. I did not hesitate to contact Mr. Chuck Saltmarche, their representative, in early summer. He managed the work project from beginning to completion. The work was completed by the promised time (most of it earlier). The people who make up the Kearns Bros. company, at every department I have contacted, are pleasant, helpful, highly skilled and efficient at their work, and many are long time employees. I feel confident that quality materials were used and installed properly. Again, it was a pleasant experience and I am very pleased with the completed project.

1. A letter was received from Kearns explaining reasons for delay even though we had no concerns over timing. 2. There was a minor error in a portion of the soffit material but was immediately corrected with appropriate apology. 3. There was a minor error in the configuration of the downspout location and again correction was immediate with same apologies. 4. Informative advisories were given to us frequently during the day and at the end of each day and at completion of entire job.

Kearns Brothers Inc does excellent work. The siding included wrapping the house with extra insulation and the windows had additional trim around the windows. The workmanship and attention to detail was great. Throughout the process I was kept informed and all my questions were answered on how the work was to proceed. Excellent work and highly recommend them for any projects. They have also replaced my roof, worked on my kitchen and finished my sunroom.

Their salesman Scotty was fantastic and answered all of our questions we asked. They came in did the job in one day and did a great job.

Price quote was done in a timely fashion but after I signed the estimate agreement I had to wait almost 6 weeks to get work done after making several phone calls.

The quote was fair and we appreciated the response received to our unusual requests. They were more than flexible in terms of finding a day that worked in our schedule. The installers arrived within the scheduled time and completed the work on time. There was some confusion about where the gutter guards were supposed to be installed, in the end Kearn's Brothers was prompt in responding and handled the situation to our satisfaction.

These guys job with a large professional crew. All of the work was completed on time and they thoroughly cleaned up. I was standing around and they respected my property throughout the project. Hats off to the company and to my rep Chuck S.

Scottie was very upfront, professional, and very knowledgable. I ended up having a family member fix the leak for me, but when I need major roof work done, I know where I'll go!

No one ever called back or showed for the estimate.

Kearns Brothers Inc represented by Mr. M Wall did an exemplary job in analyzing our window needs and recommending an excellent product at the most reasonable price. I did get 3 other bids for the job and the Kearns bid was the most affordable for the same product. The windows were located in a condominium and several condo association rule had to be met to approve the window placement. The Kearns Brothers Co. was very accomodating in providing samples of there product and the details of the window frame so that the approval would have been easy to obtain. Mr. Wall was very professional and understanding of our needs. As it turned out we decided to rent out condo instead of selling and had the windows repaired instead of replacing the whole window. Mr. Wall was very understanding of the situation and left the door open if we decided to change our minds. All in all, I was very pleased with the service. When the folks from Kearn's came out, I got a fourth estimate by mistake. He came out and pointed out that my skylights were falling from the edges so I took a look and realized that they may need to be replaced because this could cause more leaking problems. I thought about it and think that maybe he was pointing out things they me a problem later so I should go ahead and let him fix this. This was a lot more expensive that I wanted to pay but it was so worth it. He came out at 8am like he said he would, they were done by 5pm and the services were just great. My husband and mentioned these problems before and I had other companies come out that never pointed these things out and the fact that he saw these things and fixed them for me in such a good time frame and did an awesome job and cleaned up behind themselves let me know that they were the better company. They sent someone out a week later to make sure that things were still going well. I really like this company.

Very professional, got to the point. Did not waste our time like some other window sales people. Demonstrated the windows. They have their own installer who does every job. This is actually our second purchase. We first purchased 6 windows before we purchased the doorwall. Very satisfied.

I hired Kearns Brothers to do some work on my house. Scotty P. came out to our house and did a great job explaining the different products and helping us to decide what we needed. He said the work would start month or so out and that is when they called to schedule the roof install. The crew came out and did the job same day and did a great job. They were going to put on the siding the following week, but they wanted another $2,500 to put plywood on my house for the James Hardie siding to attach. I told them I wasn't going to pay extra just so the expensive siding would attach. The crewman running the job was rude, but the owner of the company apologized and didn't send him back out, which was much appreciated. We reordered the siding and the crew is putting the new siding on my house right this moment. This crew has been very professional and quick! There was a slight hiccup in the ordering of the bricks for my chimney repair, but again the owner reached out and took care of that. I have more work that needs to be done on my home (fireplace design, back porch repair, driveway repair, etc) and I will use Kearns Brothers to help with those projects as well. Overall, a very good experience!

Rudy was very personable and pleasant to deal with. Everything looks great and we have gotten numerous compliments. I have recommended them to anyone interested in any home improvements. They answered all our questions and went above and beyond to make things happen to our satisfaction. It took quite a long time to actually get the job done due to all the rain but it was well worth the wait.We had 4 different crews to do the various jobs and were very satisfied with all of them. If you want the job done in a hurry, don't call them. If you want the job done right their your guys.

These guys were great. Sales and installation guys were very professional and easy to work with. The quality and workmanship were outstanding. You could tell they took pride in their work and wanted satisfied customers. Price was very reasonable as compared to 3 or 4 other bids. They cleaned up every day. TheWe were pleased with the entire experience as Keith was our initial contact and reviewed the project with us. We received the bid in a timely manner and heard regularly from Keith as the project start date neared. Due to some extraordinary circumstances, Keith wound up doing most of the work himself which was not expected by we were pleased with. He worked very hard with the peculiarities of opening a 150 year old wall and all that might be encountered when doing such a project. The attention to detail around the framing was exceptional as he was working with walls that weren't true themselves.

They said that they put a water repellent on it with I believe a 5-10 year warranty. Several years ago I called because i noticed a white coating on the bricks. They came by and said they didn't know what it was. I asked again this year because I have bricks breaking. They weren't returning my calls. He finally came by around the first of August and he said it was not their work that was causing the problem but he believes it was my direct vent fireplace. He went on to say the fireplace was most likely causing moisture leakage that was effecting the brick. He informed me that I needed to have someone look at my fireplace. A new contractor came today an informed me that the problem was the concrete slab at the top and the waterproof coating.

I will start this review by stating the Kearns Brothers did a great job removing and installing new siding on my home. Additionally, they installed new gutters and repaired the chimney on my home. The house looks completely different and wonderful! The crew did a great job and was extremely neat in their cleanup of materials. I've hesitated to write a review because, as a very positive person, it takes a lot of frustration for me to express any negativity. The only problems I had with Kearns Bros was basically with scheduling and communication. The prices were right in the ballpark with other estimates I acquired. I selected Kearns Bros because of their stellar reputation for the quality of their work and the fact that they don't subcontract the job. After receiving the initial quote, I didn't receive any communication from the company for over 6 weeks. I had to contact them and was told..."due to the weather conditions" scheduling would be delayed. Originally , the contract was signed approximately the middle of September, to avoid the colder weather that would be approaching. The chimney repairs had to be postponed many times and finally wasn't completed until the spring! I was asked to pay for the entire job ...before completion..."so the guys could get paid for Christmas"..this is something I've learned...never to do...and probably won't ever do again! I cannot even say as to how many times I had to call Kearns Bros...just to inquire when this job would be started...and completed. The lack of communication caused undo stress and was unnecessary. Rudy is a extremely personable salesperson and very knowledgeable about the products. It just got to the ridiculous point with the different excuses until I just wanted to throw my hands up and say..."Just do the job already"! Last winter in Michigan was extremely long and tough on our houses...yards...and us! The cedar shake siding on the peak of the garage moved down and needed to repaired. Once again, I contacted the office..to do the repair and I needed some masonary work done. Rudy came out...took photo's and wrote the estimate for the masonry work. Six weeks went by and I didn't hear from them. I contacted the office and was informed that I needed to send photo's and a description of the work...here we go again! Finally, I contacted Rudy he said he would check the schedule and get back to me...no call back..again. So...I contacted him...and he said it would be at least 3 weeks before they would get to it! The weather...again...and even though the repair is a small 20 minute job ...it means a half day for his crew! I replied...and that is my problem in what way? After what I paid for this job.....come on. He agreed and the next day, a guy showed up and repaired the siding. Whew! I am still waiting to hear about the masonry job...My opinion is this: If you can't service the jobs you contract in a REASONABLE time frame ...why continue to take in more than you can handle? I really have no complaints about the quality of the work...it's great! I felt I was extremely understanding with the many reasons the job couldn't start...or be completed...or repaired...the only major complaint is with SERVICE . I have received many compliments on how nice the house now looks but, I hesitate to recommend Kearns only because of the high frustration level trying to get the project done. It shouldn't have been this hard to have this project completed and I've never experienced this treatment from other contractors.
