They did a good job. It was done in one day. We had a small unusual problem. They sent a guy over to finish an area over the porch that wasn't really part of the roof and wasn't part of the estimate. They fixed it and we were happy.

The whole experience was excellent from start to finish. We chose Kearns even though their estimate was the highest because our impression was that they were offering the best value. Paul Wilson came to do the estimate, and he was very knowledgeable and professional. He noticed problems other companies did not (e.g., unvented cupola on the garage) and proposed better solutions to problems. He calculated how much venting was needed rather than "eye-balling" it as others had. On the day the roof was done, we were amazed at how fast and clean the crew was. They first put tarps around the house and pulled a dump truck into the driveway to throw old shingles into. They completed the whole tear off and new roof in one day, and the gutters were up within a week. We found only a couple of nails and pieces of roofing in the yard, and no landscaping was damaged. No money was requested until the job was done, and Paul showed up with a magnet to go around the house and find stray nails.

Brendon Brownfield was courteous and informative. The sales pitch was mildly aggressive, but he backed off when I made it clear that I would not hire anyone without other estimates.

Kearns Bros. had mistakes happen in the beginning, but they did stand by their work. They ended up doing what needed to be done. I would use them again, and would recommend them to others.

The crew completed excellent work. I have recommended them to others as I was quite pleased with their overall business approach and work ethic. I received a number of quotes for the job, they offered me the best price. I was so thankful as they did not want to receive any down payment. They want to be paid upon completion of the project. They even placed my planter hooks on my garage. They supplied the hooks at no additional charge.

They were excellent. They were very courteous and they clean up behind themselves as well. They were right on the spot whenever I called. I can't say enough great things about them. If I had to get my roof done again tomorrow, I would hire them right away.

They were mid-priced and the work was very good mechanically but they put a color that was more yellow than the cream color I chose. I wasn't real happy about the flowers they walked on. All in all it was a pretty good job.

I wanted to use a company that would be able to perform all the jobs. Kearns gave me the quote and I went with them. They had all permits in place and the work is beautiful! The project manager called everyday while the work was being done. After the work was completed, they also followed up with me.

Excellent work. On time. Price was lower than other estimates and products. I am very happy.

This guy was able to do the work the next day for us. We were leaving out of town so that was a very important thing for us. We left while he was fixing it to catch our plane. He did an excellent job and then billed us by mail for the service. He had great phone communication skills as well. Once he came by, he gave us two options to fixing it. One was a long term solution and the other was a short term solution that was cheaper. We went with the cheaper solution.

They were very prompt and did the job well, they came a day late but only because they had to finish up a job but that was to their service because they make sure they finish the job. We were pleased with the work they did.

The roofing job went well. They did just an average job in finding bricks to match the existing chimney.

Very poorly. After a strong sales pitch and a promise to start the work in 2 weeks, they did not start for 2 months. Leaks continued during that time and we started seeing damage inside the house. We replaced the whole back side of the roof based on their expertise and 30 years of experience. Once we paid them for the initial work, they would not respond to calls or emails. The President and owner never responded to our calls. When finally contacted, the sales person yelled at me and was in total denial of their responsibility. We asked them to come back to fix the problem or at least give us an estimate on what it would take. This took from May to October. Their 10 year guarantee is a farce and they never planned to stand behind their work. The original work was not necessary if they had diagnosed it properly. We told them of the previous work and they ignored our suggestions. They were out to sell us work that generated the most dollars for them. They cant be trusted.

This job took a long time but I was not in a hurry. The nature of the work I needed was a mixed bag of different skills in different locations. It was more than a handyman but less than a full remodel. I was happy to find a company that would take on all these odds and ends. The contractors continued to work until it was all finished to my satisfaction. The end result was a great improvement to the appearance of my home. They were generally neat and left very little debris. We had a few communication snafus near the end of the job. Price and payment was very fair.

Jeff June was our sales rep and did a great job of keeping in touch after the project was over. He didn't push us hard to get the greatest (and most expensive) shingle in the world because he knew we didn't need it. Rain delayed the start on the roof for 2 days, but once the crew arrived, it was straight to work. The crew didn't do a good job of communicating to me the wood replacement, and other companies that I got quotes from included a fair portion of replacement wood into their quotes, so Kearns probably ended up being a bit more expensive than some of the other places we checked out. However, the quality of their work is fantastic, and they're trustworthy, so I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to friends or family.

They arrived at 8:50 and began work immediately. At 11:30 they took a break for lunch; the roof on the house was partially re-shingled. They went back to work at 12:00, and at 2:20 they had the garage roof partially stripped. By 4:00 they were finished and the work area was completely cleaned. They spread tarps over the majority of the work areas and I saw one of the workers picking up debris from my flower beds in the front where a tarp couldn t be replaced. I was very impressed and pleased with the job and the workers. They had to replace one small board in the garage and didn t even charge me for it even though the contract had a provision to do so. I used the weekend to get the fascia painted and then Monday the gutter crew arrived to install my seamless gutters. They also were very professional and efficient. A few days later (caused from weather delays) a third crew completed the soffit vents on the house. My house looks wonderful. I paid once the job was completed. I wasn t requ

I don't live in Michigan anymore but needed to have this work done on my property in Ferndale, so it was important to have good, solid communication. The company was very responsive to bidding on the job, but when it came time to actually schedule the work and begin, they weren't very good at communicating with me until I got one of the Kearns brothers on the phone and demanded better service. (Not showing up when scheduled... delays on their part not reported to me... frustrating stuff since I was out of town) They knew I found them through Angie's List and that I'd give them a bad report if they didn't shape up. THANKS ANGIE! But after I alerted the owners of this problem, they REALLY made sure I was satisfied and took the communication part seriously. They did excellent work and finished the job up quickly and professionally. I would recommend and use them again. They had a good price, good service, and once alerted to my concerns, dealt with it effectively.

I had two crews with Kearns Brothers. One was the framing crew. They were prompt, very neat, very exacting and organized. They finished the framing in just the day. The second crew came out for the siding portion. There were four men and all were extremely neat, polite, concerned with cleaning up. They were hardly noticeable (except for the nailing). They didn't even want to bother me for water during some of the hottest days of summer 2006 though I made a point of offering drinks. It took two days to finish the siding and shingling of roofs. Considering the work and quality of the work as well as the materials, the price was definitely reasonable and very near the quotes for lesser quality work. I would certainly recommend them. Additionally, our sales representative (Brendon) came by the house 5 times. First to take a look, then to bring a sample, then to bring other color samples, then to okay the contract and verify the shingle color choice and finally to review the work.

Right now, we're still deciding. We're seeking more estimates. They seemed like they really wanted to sell us a whole new roof, but we're not entirely convinced. It's a lot of money.

CONTRACTED WORK OUT. VERY POOR JOB. INADEQUATE REPAIR. I HAD TO CORRECT PROBLEM AFTER THEY REFUSED TO MAKE IT GOOD.

THEY DID A GOOD JOB PUTTING ON MY NEW ROOF. THEY WERE VERY EFFICIENT AND MADE SURE TO DO AN EXCELLENT JOB ON MY ROOF. I THOUGHT THAT THEY WERE A VERY GOOD COMPANY.

THEY ALWAYS DO AN EXCELLENT JOB. I HAVE USED THEM MANY TIMES, AND I AM GOING TO CALL THEM AGAIN FOR A NEW PROJECT THAT I AM GOING TO START. I REALLY RESPECT THE HARD WORK THAT THEY DO.
