Just fine. My opener has to be at least 20 years old so I was expecting to pay for a new one but he said it’s just normal wear and tear and it works just great.

They are very good, on time, did the work quickly and he's very nice person.

They gave me the best price by far. Installers were on time and did a great, professional job. Very pleased.

two weeks later to emails and a phone call and still have not spoke with anybody for an appointment. Will not use gym doors and is recommending to my company that I work for to no longer use them for the two plants they have. Company very unprofessional

Called on 9/30 seeking quote to replace dual doors with 16ft single door including header & new opener, sales team was to return call but no response

Called for an estimate to fix my garage door as they were the only ones I could find that could service the model I have. They told me they could only set up service if I gave them the balance weight, which is very difficult to find. They would not come and look for the balance weight without a $100 service charge. After searching online extensively on how to find the balance weight, I found the weight and called back to set up service. After giving them the balance weight, they kept me on hold for 15 minutes and they said it will take 2 to 3 weeks for the part. Frustrated after weeks with no garage, I called the supplier directly and they said it will ship from Ohio in 2 days but couldn't sell me the part direct but gave me an installer who could. I would look elsewhere...

First service man showed up and immediately said we need a new door and after call in got a quote of $650. Then after looking at it he said we only needed cables, springs, and tracks. I told him the springs were brand new and he said we no longer needed them. Quoted me a price of $250 for the service call, 2 new verticle tracks, and 2 new cables. He said he would return next week and it would be him that way we would not have to worry about getting anything else added or a price change. He guaranteed I would have a perfectly functioning door for that price. The next week 2 different guys came and started work. After a little bit I was told I needed a whole new bottom panel on top of everything else Because it was rusted and would not hold the door. The bottom panel would add an additional cost of $350. Or that I could get a whole new door for $790. A large increase from the first guys price. I told him no thank you and he then wanted to collect the $250. They never put on the new tracks only the cables. I ended up paying $155.80 this was for a service call and $41.80 for cables. Cables that I have purchased in the past for $10.

Went great. They offered an app't for the day after I called. Rudy came out and took care of it in less than an hour's time. It's been working fine so far.

It took one phone call to get things started (which seems normal but apparently wasn't when trying to get garage door companies out). They sent someone out to look at my garage doors the next day. I couldn't be home at the time but told the person doing the walk around, to go ahead over without me there, go in the garage and do what he had to do. I happened to show up at the end of the initial inspection of my old doors and the person explained everything clearly. He told me exactly what needed to be done, the differences between the work with a door opener and without and every aspect of the work before they ever started anything. I was scheduled to have new doors put in less than a week after the first time they came by. On August 4th one solitary experienced technician came by to remove both side by side doors and install new ones. He arrived around 7:30 am, had the old doors removed within one hour. The scrap guys they team up with came by almost immediately and removed the old doors right away. The solo technician then got down to business and within two hours he had all the wood for mounting up, the garage doors assembled and hung and was cleaned up and leaving by 11:15am....again, all by himself. This guy was experienced and good at his job, he showed me how he set the spring tension and doors locks and had the trim and everything looking great before he left. He opened and closed them a few times and the fit and operation was dead on. I definitely recommend using Jan Overhead Door and would certainly use them again in the future.

Spring broke on the door. Could raise the doo to get the car out. I was scheduled to surgery in 2 days and called them late. They told me they would try and get a man with in 2 days. They had a man there that night.

After our initial phone call to the company, a sales representative promptly came to the house and gave an estimate. After accepting the offer, the installers were at our house and ready to work the next morning. They removed (and carried away the old door),installed the new door, and cleaned up the work area in the same day. We are pleased!

Good experience. I visited their showroom in Detroit. Quoted 3 different manufacturers - they were best. I had a coupon they honored with no questions. They contracted the door install to Paul's door - quick, and thorough! I am very pleased.

I would give them a B grade overall. The price was very reasonable the quality was excellent. They knew all of the rules of my condominium. If I needed additional work on my garage door I would use them again.

I know this review is way after the fact, but I have been waiting a long time to vent. I hired this firm on a friend's recommendation to install a front door and a door to the garage (from house). Since installation, neither door closes well. I was too stupid to know that they were not installed "square". The gaps around the doors range from a hairs width to 3/8". The doors are not even flush with the jamb. The door to the garage has to be deadbolted at certain times of the year because the latch won't keep it closed. Both doors leak cold air in the winter. This has happened since the day they were installed. Also, I expected that the door to the garage would be the same size as the one I was replacing (30"). When they quoted me, they didn't tell me that the one they were going to install would reduce the size of the door opening about 1-1/2". This door is right at the top of the stairs to the basement. Previous to this installation, I could bring a washing machine through the door and down the stairs. Now I can't. I now have to bring larger items in through the front door. If you hire this company, be very specific about what you expect before you commit and make a thorough inspection of the work. Make sure you get what you wanted, make sure the door is square and don't pay them until they fix it.

I prefer not to disclose the amount that I spent and I don't think that it is important to disclose the price. Their service was outstanding. Actually not too many people have screen enclosures put up on the garage doors. When I checked out their reviews and stuff, there was no one that had garage enclosure put in but that was something that I wanted. They were the only company in Michigan that I could find that had garage door enclosures. They were excellent. They were very good. I moved to Michigan from another state and their price was outstanding. I couldn't get the garage enclosure for the price that they installed it for. It's not very common here in Michigan. The quality to me is very good. I live in a condominium and this is a brand new item apparently that they have found. The screen enclosure is completely installed inside the garage because the board will not allow us to put in any kind of enclosure on the outside. So this one is inside. They responded to me immediately. As soon as I went down to their showroom, they set up an appointment. They ordered the door and that was it. They were here on time. They were very good on professionalism. I will definitely use their services again in the future.

I am completely satisfied. The gentleman came over, gave me a quote and it was installed a few days later. He took the old door and opener with him. It's now 2011 and it's working beautifully - no problems.

When the spring above our two car garage door broke, I called several companies on Angie's list to get price quotes. I was concerned about getting it done the same day, however, so I decided on Jan Overhead Door even though they didn't have the highest rating or the lowest price because I felt confident they would have the heavy duty spring necessary for a very heavy wooden door . When I spoke to Felicia at Jan Overhead Door I did not get a good vibe as she was not customer friendly. I specifically told her the measurements of the spring and to tell her repair guy to bring a pair of heavy duty springs for the very heavy wooden door. She assigned me a window of 11 am to 2 pm and quoted a price of $219.78 At 2:00 pm I called to ask whether the repairman was coming and the gentleman who answered was able to confirm the repair guy who was en route; he showed up 15 minutes later. Perhaps the repair guy was ticked that I had called to find out if he was coming or perhaps he is not customer oriented. He didn't introduce himself but rather just told me to open the other garage door and his answers to my questions were the bare minimum. He determined that, yes, my spring was broken, and yes it was heavy duty and NO, he didn't have any on the truck as he had already repaired two heavy duty doors that day. That made me pretty unhappy since I had specifically told Felicia what I needed. :-( He noted that one bearing plate was broken, he took measurements and agreed to return in the morning. I wasn't sure when to expect the repairman so at 9:00 the next morning I called to ask and spoke to the gentleman again who contacted the service man and confirmed that he was on his way. When he appeared about 15 minutes later, maybe he was ticked again that I had called to find out when he was coming or maybe he just doesn't know how to be friendly to customers. Fortunately, he is good at what he does and the pair of door springs and the bearing plates were replaced without trouble. I asked him to demonstrate that the door could balance mid-way up and it did. I asked him about oiling the springs with WD-40 and he said silicone spray was better, and he sprayed the springs with it and then put the can on the garage shelf. I thought -- oh how nice that they give a complementary can and good advertising too because it says Jan Door on the label. It was only after I had written the check and he handed me the paperwork that I realized he charged me over $13 for that can of silicone spray. I protested and said I didn't want to pay $13 for a can of silicone spray ($3.50 on amazon) and after mildly defending the charge, he agreed to take it off and I rewrote the check. I would have been really unhappy if he had not agreed to remove that charge. In conclusion, I believe this company is competent but not customer-oriented toward individuals. I regret not choosing another company who quoted $179.10 and said they would do it same day.

I called them in November after looking them up on Angie’s List. I wanted them to install a garage door opener. They told me that the opener that I wanted was impossible to install; the way in which the garage was built would not allow for an opener to be installed. The technician then loosened some springs and then left. After he left, I noticed that my garage door only closed half way. I called the company and informed them of this. The secretary asked me if I wanted a technician to come out and fix it, and I said yes, of course. I thought that question was silly. The technicians, along with the other employees that worked here had an attitude that I didn't like. I went through an entire winter without a garage door opener. I just recently ran into an old friend that worked for a garage door company, and he ended up coming out to take a look at the garage. This other company installed a new door and a garage door opener for me with no problems. I don't understand why Jan Doors, being an expert, wouldn't know that a door opener could be installed in my garage. I'm irritated that my wife and I had to go through an entire winter manually opening my garage door when this could've been easily fixed.

They showed up on time for both the estimate and the installation. They had the lowest price estimate, and gave it to me in writing. The new door runs very smoothly. I am extremely pleased with their price, quality, and professionalism.
