Over all it was great. Enrique and the cement crew, Harvey and the roofing crew were great workers, friendly and professional.

Owner of company very unprofessional. He was arrogant and condescending and clearly did not want to deal with a female. That was bad enough, but when he found out I had lead based paint on my home and garage he was unwilling to quote the "correct" way of dealing with lead based paint abatement even though his company is lead based paint certified. He said it didn't matter if his company was supposed to file specific guidelines in doing lead based paint abatement because the state didn't have enough people to enforce the requirements. I am SO glad I did not let them touch my home.

o The project had a couple of "bumps" in road but in all the process was smooth, on time and expertly handled. Flavio was the contract manager and he was very responsive to our calls and contacts. The carpenter was excellent. We were a bit disappointed with the HVAC services but the company responded promptly to all concerns. The only major dilemma was a misjudge of a supporting beam, but again the company responded promptly and a solution was completed within one day. We were very happy with the service, the work and the responsiveness of the company.

They quoted me on a job but never provided me with an estimate. I called several times and kept getting the runaround. They said they sent things but never did, I sent them emails asking to reply with an estimate and they never did. The last I heard from the owner was that he was taking another contract and he might be able to do my porch before that work got started but he never got back to me. They wasted my time.

A little after 4:30 a pickup pulls up. My wife says it is the same guy that was there earlier. I go out the front door and tell him to not even bother coming up the drive. He keeps coming, so I tell him to leave, because if this is It-Am's best foot forward, I can only imagine what kind of workers they hire. I ignore his protests wherein he tells me to not be ignorant. I turn my back and walk into the house. He follows me and starts pounding on the door. I tell him to leave and that if he persists and attempts to enter he will be having a different conversation with Mr. Glock as I now feel threatened. My wife is freaked out by this guy, who if the card he left earlier is correct is the owner!! She wants to call the cops as the guy is just sitting there in his truck. I say don't bother the cops for nothing - leave calls for real emergencies. After about 15 minutes the cops show up. Turns out he called them. After questioning us, they told him to get packing. I told her to relax as that was just totally silly. However, I can only imagine how this guy reacts when you try to complain about his companies work. Bottom line - I recommend not ever considering Italy-American. Update: I was surprised to see that the Italy-American rep responded and more shocked that he could lie so smoothly. I did get a copy of the police report ($3 fee). Standard he said/ she said with nothing substantive, as would be expected on such a call.

A representatibe came out to give us an estimate on a complete bathroom remodel about 8-10 weeks ago and we still have not received an estimate. This reflects very poorly on this company. He also did not have opinions on things we could do. We did hear from this company and they couldn't have been more apolgetic. Paperwork was misplaced. They rushed to get us an estimate. Thank you for coming through.

They were good. We were satisfied with the work.

They are very prompt, very informative and reasonable on the price. They came out and explained the job and then went the extra yard to explain what was going on with the rest of the house and what I should and shouldn't do in their opinions. They were very helpful, we were able to prioritze the work a little better after the information and knowledge they gave us. I would most certainly use them in the future.

They were very professional and worked hard to get the job done quickly working with the weather. We were very pleased with the job. The job was rather big. They worked to ge entire area fully prepped in one day. They worked the next day on pouring and finishing the concrete. The following morning a worker came out to cut the cement. It looks great!

They are superb. I am extremely happy with them. They are dependable, honest, hardworking, and reasonably priced. I could not be happier with them. Their prices were slightly higher. They gave me an accurate estimate after working everything out. On the first day of the job, the supervisor came out and gave me a list of numbers that I could call. They made me feel like I was a very important person. They told me everything they would do, down to the smallest detail. They went above and beyond their call of duty. They are a reputable company. I would refer them to anyone and I would use them for any work I need done at my home. I do not have any qualms about them whatsoever.

We got 4 estimates before we selected Italy American Construction to do all of the construction work. A relative had used this company and they were very satisfied with the quality of the work performed. The estimate we received from Frank was fair and complete and there was no pressure to sign a contract. Italy American was the only company that offered to do custom aluminum trim bending to retain the same decorative appearance of the dental molding original to our home. All of the other companies wanted to remove the old decorative trim and replace it with prefabricated decorative trim with a different less appealing type of appearance. Italy also offered custom aluminum decorative trim to go around our front windows, front door and a side window, to give our house more curb appeal. None of the other companies we got estimates from offered this type of custom work. Frank brought the two man crew of Ken and Ken to our home to discuss the details of the work to be done and for us to meet them. They began work soon after, and these two men did all of the work. It took them about two weeks to finish the job. They would come every morning and would stop work early in the evening. Even though there were plans for all of the construction details worked out before they began, there were times the crew had suggestions during the construction phase for improvements to the finished product and we adopted most of their suggestions. The quality of materials used and the finished work was excellent. They both have many years of experience and I always felt very confident and relaxed about them doing the highest quality work. They worked extremely well together and were always very receptive to any questions we would raise. They had a very strong work ethic taking pride in doing a quality job and keeping us informed as the job progressed. They cleaned up each day and after the job was completed. We were very pleased with the final result and when we settled the final payment with Frank, we complimented him on his crew and the real craftsmanship they performed. Our home looked beautiful. I would highly recommend this company and would use them again.

I did not hire this company because their quote was WAY out off the ballpark.

I will use them again in the future.

Very professional from beginnig to end

I contacted Italy American over the phone and told them I needed an estimate done on water damage for insurance purposes. The gentleman arrived at the agreed upon time, I showed him the statement of loss from my insurance provider and we discussed the damages and the process of cleaning up and repairs. He took about a half hour to take notes and pictures and then informed me that he would have an estimate finished by that Friday (it was Tuesday). Friday came and went and there was nothing from him in my inbox. I called him and he did not answer so I left a voicemail with my contact information and my email address, Still nothing. Not a phone call informing me that they respectfully would not be taking the job or even an email blow-off. Totally unprofessional and downright rude.

Their quote was for $70,000. They were fairly professional. They were pretty responsive.

I would NOT recommend Italy American Construction. They did a great job on a porch demo/replacement for us about three years ago, so we called them again when we needed to replace two sidewalks to our home and wanted to add an additional walk poured from the garage to the house. They came for an estimate in due time, and said that the work would start within 2 weeks. That was the beginning of May. The day the work was supposed to start, we hadn't heard from them, so I gave them a call. After an encounter with a clueless and bothered secretary, I left a message and didn't hear from their office for a few days. When someone finally called, he said they were behind because of a rainy spring, but they'd be to us in the next few weeks. I told him I'd like to be kept more in the loop, and didn't appreciate having to be the one to call him instead of him calling me. Heard nothing for the rest of May, or June. Today is July 19th, and the demo crew from Italy American rang our doorbell this morning at 8am, ready to start work. I hadn't heard from the company since my previously mentioned call to them. Frankly, I had assumed that they didn't want my business anymore. I turned them away. A two-month delay without any contact from the company didn't give me the confidence that they would complete this job for me. I just don't understand how a company could be so lacking in customer service, that even though THEY know they're going to work on your house the next day, they can't give you a call to make sure everything's a go. Again, I would NOT recommend Italy American Construction.

I didn’t get to know the estimated amount because they said that they would do the job later than when I wanted them to do. They seemed to be a little pushy and they also wanted to know who else came out to give the quote. I would not consider in using them in the future.

Overall experience was pleasant. I have to say the communication with this company was great, which is very important for me. Any time I called, I was able to speak to someone directly (owner or owner's son), or promptly received a call back usually within an hour. Since I was not there while all the work was completed, I consistently received calls letting me know what was going on, work schedules, and to discuss any concerns I had. Before any work started they came out to walk through the things they were going to do and answer any questions I had. On a couple of occasions, the owner's son Michael came out to discuss concerns I had, and was probably there for over an hour each time going over the work with me---once later in the evening, and once on the weekend. Never did I feel rushed when he came out, and working around my schedule was appreciated. From the street, the new porch roof & overhang look great---they did a good job with this, and the house looks great compared to before. The brick porch I had was previously built with a differnt color/style of brick that didn't match the house. Unfortunately, they couldn't put a stone veneer over the face because the slab at the top didn't have enough of an overhang. However, they were able to put on wire lathe and cover in colored mortar which was then carved & textured to look like stone---the color is not a perfect match to the house but not sure anybody could have done it perfectly. Regardless it looks much better than before. The new porch roof has a barrel shaped ceiling which looks really nice--you can see examples of other houses they've done like this on their website. I did have a few issues with some of the work done. 1) Roofing: They had suggested two types of intake ventilation as opposed to cutting new soffit vents: vented drip edge & the edge vent. I utlimately went with the edge vent but am concerned with the installation of this---not as clean as what I would have expected. When the original drip edge was removed, the orginal ice shield tore off enough that there was bare wood between the new drip edge and the existing ice/water shield. The edge vent requires ice/water shield both above & below. I called about this, and they came back and installed ice shield all the way around to cover the exposed wood under the vent and lay over the top of the drip edge. The drip edge they used was also short and didn't overlap the gutter or original fascia trim---they came back out to install aluminum trim to remedy this. If I had to do this all over again, I would insist on cutting tried & true soffit vents as opposed to this edge vent stuff. The aluminum trim around the frieze board, and the drip edge installation is sloppy---but I have been assured everything is functional and they will stand behind their work, so I left it at that. 2) Skylights: I had two skylights put in the kitchen. The framing at the top (roof deck) and the framing at the bottom (kitchen ceiling) were not sqaure to eachother---close to a 1 inch mismatch side to side. The drywaller was able to fix most of this, but there is still a noticable slope going up the sides. Since it is only noticable while standing directly below it and staring up, I let it go. Had I asked them to reframe it perfectly square, I'm sure they would have---they've been pretty good about fixing anything I had a problem with. Overall, I'm satisfied with most of the work. The timing to complete the major work was about 3 days, and they've been out to take care of some of the other concerns I had several times over the following 2 weeks. Each of the crews that came out were on time and cleaned up well when they left each day. The price was OK, but for what I paid I expected a little more attention to detail (clean trim installation/clean caulk lines)---nothing was glaringly horrible but at the same time it's apparent that some of the work was done quickly without a lot of thought. Based on their customer service, I would definitely recommend this company but would be up front with them about your expectations for attention to detail if you're a picky person like me.

They are very knowledgeable and care about how they do their work. If for any reason you're not satisfied with them, you can call the supervisors and they'll be out the same day. If there is anything you're not satisfied with, they will bend over backwards to make it right. You get what you pay for with this company.

It went mostly alright. The only thing that I didn't like was that the workers didn't have a support for my awning while they were working on the porch. I called the salesperson to inform him of that. He came out himself & put in a support.

They still have to come back. The cement has to cure before they can seal it. It is beautiful. It surpassed my expectations. We signed the contract towards the end of April and they finished while we out of town last week. I have had numerous comments from my neighbors. It's absolutely gorgeous. The porch has two pillars, one on each side of the porch, which they didn't replace but they cleaned it to practically match the brick that they put on the front of the house. I am very pleased with them to say the least. They gave me an estimate and actually they were $2000.00 lower than the next bid. They gave me an estimate and once we decided to go with the project that was the final price. It's a family business. When the sales man first came he said we would need to give them $2000.00 when the brick arrived and when the brick guy got here, he said we didn't need to pay for anything yet. We haven't paid them a cent yet because we were out of town when they finished last week. I am very satisfied. They are finished. They had to remove two huge cement pots from the porch which are sitting in my yard but I didn't expect them to do anything with those because they don't know where they go. They used my hose and that is still in the front but that is not a problem for me. They are coming back to seal it but it has to cure for a couple of weeks before they do that , so maybe the clean-up is not finished. They were very professional and they were courteous. No one left any popkins or cigarette butts. They also replaced the front walk, the cement leading up to the porch, and it's beautiful. I absolutely am excited. The price was very good. I would use them again. In fact I have already given their number to two family members who are looking to have some cement and brick work done.
