Beyond my expectations. The crew led by Matt Jimmerson arrived at 8:30 and were done including clean up by 4:30 the same day. They were very well organized, polite, and considerate. The work is top notch. I watched the entire job being done and was very impressed with the skill level of the crew. Each person knew their job and went about it professionally. A side note, it was nearly 90 degrees that day and humid but it didn't impair them. The previous estimate stated that I needed 28 sheets of OSB replaced but Matt noted that most of them were just stained but still structurally sound and that I only needed to have 8 sheets replaced. That was a savings of almost $900. Good work and integrity! I give Jimmerson Roofing my highest recommendation.

John Jimmerson and his crew were great to work with. He was not the cheapest quote we received (although still competitive) however, we could tell right away he was the man for the job. He seemed to really know his job and liked it as well. His crew were very polite and efficient. We would definitely recommend him to friends and neighbors.

We selected Jimmerson over several other bids due to his strong reputation on Angie's list, the competitiveness of his bid, and the quality/brand of shingles he provides. Overall tear-off and replacement of roof and gutters, and fascia/soffit repair went reasonably well, although the crew left a lot more garbage (cigarette butts, food and pop bottles, and general roofing debris) in our yard than the last time we had a roof done on another property. More significantly, there were misunderstandings with the foreman about what size of bathroom and kitchen range hood vent to install, and the location of the vent. For the bathroom, they installed a 3 inch vent even though I asked for a 4 inch one; to their credit, the existing fan was a 3 inch, but I told them we were replacing it with a 4 inch one, and they still put a 3 inch one in. They were willing to fix it once we pointed out that it wasn't what we had asked for. For the kitchen range hood vent, they installed it in the wrong part of the roof. I offered to show the foreman exactly where it should go, but he assured me they could figure it out. Well, they didn't. They put new decking right over the round hole from the previous kitchen vent, and put the new one in a good 6-8 feet away. Later the foreman told me he hadn't wanted me to show him exactly where the kitchen vent was because it involved going into the attic, and he didn't want to make me, the homeowner, do that during the summer. I offered to do it because I was willing to. It was my idea. Again, when we complained, Jimmerson's workers put the vent in the correct spot above the kitchen. The kitchen vent was supposed to be a six inch vent, and we told them so, but they went and installed an 8 inch vent instead, and said they looked for 6 inch vents at Home Depot but didn't see any. I later looked on Home Depot's website and saw they were available, but it was too late. Luckily, we were able to find a reducer that linked Jimmerson's 8 inch duct to our 6 inch vent, and I installed it myself. The gutter replacement was subcontracted to someone else. That person left a gap of several inches in one place in the gutterguards we had installed--leaving a hole large enough to let debris and/or critters get inside the gutters, under the gutter guards. We complained about this and someone came back promptly to seal the gap. Once the roof was done, we noticed a spot along the garage where the drip edge wasn't nailed down properly. There were streams of light pouring into the attic where there hadn't been any light coming in before. John Jimmerson observed this himself and added some nails to seal the gap. A few weeks later, a squirrel got into the house and caused several hundred dollars of damage to our new kitchen floor. There was supposed to be a wire trap on the bathroom fan vent to keep critters out, but the squirrel had pulled it off and gotten inside. Jimmerson came back once again and put metal cages around the bathroom and kitchen vents. One week later, two more squirrels got inside our house. We had never had any evidence of squirrels before getting the new roof, and now there were three within one week, and two were after Jimmerson put extra critter cages on our roof. We called again and someone came out and nailed down many more sections of loose drip edge that were still flimsy enough to let determined critters inside. About 2 months after the new roof had been installed, a water stain appeared on our dining room ceiling after a heavy rain. We had just repainted the ceiling in that room about a month earlier, so we were certain the stain was brand new. Our plumber happened to be at the house that day for another project, and graciously climbed up into the attic and discovered that there were gaps around the soil stack that were letting water into the attic. We called Jimmerson yet again and he came back and resealed around the stack. So, within a span of 4 months, this company had to return to our house 5 times to address problems with the new roof. To their credit, they have always been responsive and prompt about coming back to our house when we've had problems. Still, I have relatively little confidence that there won't be any future problems with this roof. They've got our money now, but at least we have their number. Update: Now, it is December 2015, a year later, and the weather is turning cold. We AGAIN have squirrels in our attic, and, as previously stated, there were none before we had the new roof put on. Thoroughly disappointed and frustrated with this contractor.

Great experience! Jimmerson very kindly worked around our dates so that the work was performed when we were out of town. When we had a very minor issue after the work was completed, they came by the same day to check things out and fix things up. Roof looks great--we're very pleased.

We got several estimates from different companies in the Lansing area. We were impressed with John Jimmerson. Not the lowest bid but also not the highest one. His company has been in business for a long time and generations of his family have/do work for the company. We had no problems with the roof leaking. It was just time to replace it. Once the company was able to fit us in to their schedule, John Jimmerson contacted us with a few days notice to let us know the crew was coming out. He kept us informed of any delays due to needing to finish up other projects and our very rainy summer. Once here, the crew did the entire roofing job in 1 and 1/2 days! They were trying to beat another rainy weather system and the upcoming Labor Day holiday. They did a great job of cleaning up the yard and also moving things prior to starting so they wouldn't be ruined. The dumpster in our driveway was picked up the next day. John and his crew answered questions we had and offered additional services not discussed in our initial plan. We are very pleased with the job that Jimmerson roofing did on our house and garage.

Jimmerson's roofing crew came to my house and went right to work. John Jimmerson's crew completely tore off the old shingles, tar paper, drip edges, and vent covers. They then began the tedious job of re-shingling the roof consisting of 35 - 38 square. They worked from morning until 6:00 - 7:00 P.M. for two days. On the second day in the early evening, they completed the work. The crew made sure the work site was clean and tidy every single night. They take great pride in their craft and at the end of the two days, it was very noticeable that they are one of the best in their trade in the State of Michigan. Mr. Jimmerson mentioned to me that his crew had accidently dented a couple spots on my front eaves trough and he immediately had the front eaves replaced with brand new eaves. That is the kind of integrity and honesty that is sometimes hard to find, but not with Jimmerson Roofing. The crew was very professional and courteous, plus, their work ethic is impeccable. I am very particular when it comes to having my house worked-on which is why I would recommend Jimmerson Roofing to everyone needing their roof re-shingled.

Left message when materials would be delivered and date of install. Didn't expect a penny until after install. No evidence they were here except for a new roof, and sign in the yard.

The experience was very good, I felt informed about what was happening the entire time. He explained everything throughly and gave us different options. His estimates were not the lowest nor highest. Given high demand of his services he was not able to get to my roof for about a month, but once he began the work, the work was completed within 2 days. His crew working even when it was snowing outside! I would definitely use his services again.

They’ve been very proficient. I would suggest that it’s good to know that they are very professional, they are concern about their customers and they communicate well. They are timely and they have excellent follow up besides doing professional work. I refute three different cost estimates and their pricing was comparable to other companies. The quality of their work was excellent.

When the old shingles were torn off, the plywood was found to be delaminating. New wood was required. They were able to obtain the materials and get the job done in a quick and professional manner.

I ended up with a dent in my AC unit. They did not protect anything below. They left a real mess behind. They did it turning the first snow storm of the season. I asked them to take off the gutter gaurd, they tried to cut it off but I ended up with holes in the gutters. They left behind shingle stones, nails and other debris. I used a shopvac and magnet to pick up what they left behind, i came up with about 27lbs of debris. I would not recommend them to anyone.

Great! He put a roof on for us 8 years ago with a materials and labor warranty for 10 years. There was a piece of shingle loose under a window and when I called them they came out the same day and fixed it. They also checked around the roof to see if anything else needed attention. The previous company (Larry T Schaeffer) put the roof on and when I said I could hear dripping, they told me they would fix it if I could find the leak! They also said it was a a problem with the shingles and I would need to contact the manufacturer of the shingles. Jimmerson is a quality company.

Great. Done in 2.5 days. Returned after satellite dish had to be moved; replaced shingles over old satellite hole. Replaced shingles over range vent hood.

I called John out for a bid on my roof because our roof was installed incorrectly three years prior. We had bought the house last November and thought the roof was good. When we noticed leaking in the house, it was time for a new roof. I had called seven different companies for bids on our roof and by far Jimmerson Roofing was the most professional and knowledgeable. John Jimmerson was always on time and informative about what needed to be done. The roofing crew was great. The job took two and a half days because of rain but they showed up every morning and worked extremely hard to complete the job. Everyone on crew was very friendly, professional and hard working. The crew answered any questions that I had and or showed me what they were doing. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who needs roofing. I feel confident my roof was installed correctly this time and will last for years to come.

They were fantastic across the board. I had a shingle blow off two to three weeks after they put in the new roof, I spoke to them on what happened and they had their crew here the next day. They got up there and fixed everything, at no charge. So not only did they do a fantastic job on the roof but when I needed them to come back and fix something, there were no hassles there.

The roof is beautiful. We are very happy with it. The attention to detail on other areas, however, not so much. We just had our deck refinished and were promised in writing that no damage would occur. Well, it did occur. Several trees were damaged and smaller landscape items were damaged. Clean-up was average. It was a very large job. There was a box of nails and staples dropped on our driveway that was not cleaned up. Could have been a flat tire nightmare. The owner was responsive to our calls.

We have a lot of roof, whihch is why our cost was extensive. But Jimmerson's ripped off the old, installed new vents and the roof in one day. No mess was left either. We are very satisfied with the service and product provided.

The work was done in one day and clean up was completed. Repairs were made to the screens and the shrubbery.

Our 1929 French English Tudor had been badly served by the previous roof, put on before we bought it. Not only was it not attractive, and not appropriate to the style of the house, it was literally a sieve of leaks. Over the 10 or so years that this roof had been on the house, a large percentage of the decking had rotted away, and needed to be replaced. Our roof is a challenge... there's just a lot of it, with many steep pitches, and lots of dead valleys. We had several people bid the job... Jimmerson was not the most expensive, and he wasn't the cheapest, but we were impressed with his level of knowledge. It was a big job... it took his crew a full seven days to complete it. And that's with 8 people on the crew! They exceeded all of our expectations. We have extensive landscaping around the house, and the crew was very careful... damage was minimal. The best part is, the roof looks great. It was clear to us that everybody, from John Jimmerson, down to the last man on the crew, took great pride in the workmanship. Each night, when it was time to pull of the job, the crew did a great job of cleaning up, and when the did the final pullout, our driveway was cleaner than it was before they started. I would highly recommend Jimmerson Roofing.

I needed to get the ceiling in my living room fixed. However, that could not be done until I had my roof replaced. I contacted multiple companies to get bids on replacing my roof. I found their bid to be competitive with the other companies I spoke with and considered. The gentleman that came out knew the product inside & out. He was able to explain and clarify any questions that i had. Ultimately, I went with a different company to do the roof replacement, but I would definitely recommend that anybody looking for new roofs to consider Jimmerson Roofing! Great people. Great service. Owner came to my home and did a quick look at the roof. He only gave me a "ballpark" estimate and said he would send me a formal estimate. I never received the formal estimate and felt his "ballpark" was way too broad. I decided to not do business with this company because frankly the owner became overly persistent with telephone calls. I wasn't interested in being pestered by phone; I wanted the formal estimate. The final straw came when he left me a message saying "I've given you plenty of time to decide....." It was as if he thought I owed him something; I can take all the time I want to decide. That was it and I never called him back.

Mr. Jimmerson came to our house and gave us a quote. He was very detailed and explained everything well. He called back a couple of times to see if we had made a decision yet....not high pressure but wanted to get us on his list before the weather got too cold. We had a few other estimates and both were higher priced for same shingles. One was $1,400 higher. Two of our neighbors had Jimmerson do their roofs, so with their recommendation (and the fact that the price was right), we went with Jimmerson. We did have to wait about a month before they could get to us, but they came and had it done in two days. We are happy with everything so far.

It's been four years since we had Jimmerson replace our roof, and we are still happy with the results. The roof is still in perfect condition, through numerous wind storms, every shingle is in place. It looks great and we've had not a single issue with it. They were fast and cleaned up the work area completely. Very happy with this contractor. We had three bids, they weren't the cheapest bidder but they had the best guarantee and choice of shingle styles and colors. You get what you pay for! We would have no hesitation in recommending Jimmerson Roofing.
