Very professional company. Accessible and cooperative. Skilled workman. Pleasant, accommodating, and on time. Careful to not disrupt us or our neighbors unduly. Glad we chose them. Results absolutely beautiful.

It went well. The owner of the company came out himself to allow me to show him exactly what I wanted done. He was a very pleasant gentleman to talk to and after the job was completed he came back out to see if I was satisfied. His foreman who ran the job, Paul, was a very knowledgeable fellow and while doing the job explained things to his fellow workers, so their was no misunderstanding about what was to be done.

Although I loved the ideas and the plans, the price was extremely expensive. I believe the work would have been exceptional if I had decided to hire them. The blue prints were very detailed with several examples of pictures. colors, and sizes.

We were very pleased with overall job. The only slight issue we had was the timing which wasn't totally their fault . I was told a start date of a couple weeks earlier then when it was done. The weather did not cooperate as there was a lot of rain which backed jobs up. I did call to confirm start date and found it was not the date I thought it would be. What they could have done a little better would be to let clients know better a change of start date. Other then that everything was great. The people were friendly, knowledgable and professional. Quality of work was exceptional as well as the products they installed. Mark Barkman returned after the job was completed and went over everything with me and gave me pointers in the care of everything. I would highly recommend them and will to my neighbors.

I read many reviews here before calling Barkman Landscaping. After so much reading I felt I had a fairly good idea of what to expect price wise. When I called I was given an appointment for the very next day. The owner Mark Barkman comes to your place and walks around listening to your ideas. He takes measurements and makes notes. He then takes that information back and his people create a plan. And it is a beautiful plan. Mark was honest in telling me that some of the plants I would have liked would not grow due to the weather conditions, but had many alternate suggestions that would. Other than the plants that would not work for my area Mark gave me everything I wanted and then gave me more. He really listened to what I wanted. By initially contacting Barkman Landscaping early in April 2013 there was enough time to get HOA approval of the plan and the work was done in May. We are now enjoying a beautiful yard with plants that were planned to give seasonal beauty. Our patio has gone from blah to outstanding. The pavers Mark chose pick up the colors of the siding and blend in perfectly. We wanted to attract birds and butterflies to our yard and that is happening. It is now July and we receive complements from our neighbors on a daily basis. People take walks or bike rides to come by and see the yard. Many people drive by very slow. At community gatherings when I meet someone for the first time and we talk about where we live they know the place with the gorgeous yard. We have had neighbors thank us for giving them such a nice view. One of the neighbors even said thank-you for doing it and letting people know it is ok to have so much done. ( We are in a fairly new community and no one has had so much done, most people just didn't realize they could. I tell them with the great plan and detailed layout that Mark gives you it's easy to get approval from the HOA.) Basically the job went smoothly. All the men were courteous and friendly. As the work progressed I found some things that I wanted done different. That was no problem, it was done to my satisfaction. Our condo had existing landscaping across the front, Mark created a design that tied the new into the existing so it looks as if it was all done at one time. Some of the plants are: Hydrangeas, boxwood, forsythia, lilies, butterfly bush, cranberry viburnum, 2 different grasses, spirea, swamp rose mallow, hick's yew, elijah blue fescue, bloodstone armeria, weigela, and a shadeblow serviceberry. At one side of the patio Mark suggested stepping stones to lead out to the grass. Hydrangea trees were put on each side of the stepping stones, it looks amazing. A raised bed was created in the back section where I can put in any other plants I might want to add. I was expecting the cost to be somewhere between $13-15,000. It was great for it to come in at $10,000. Definitely money well spent. I would highly recommend Barkman Landscaping. Whether you want a large job like we had or want to have something smaller or break up the project into sections to do some now and some later, Mark will work with you to create it.

I was very impressed with Barkman Landscaping INC, I like that he is close to my community, he seemed very knowledgeable about his products, I called him on Wednesday, he came over Thursday and he is coming over tomorrow to show me the plan. I am considering using him because I was very impressed with him.

They did not call to let me know they were coming. I was not at home when they did the work. Did a pretty good job but I had to take more off of one bush because it still hung over the sidewalk, which was a point I made during estimate survey. Also another woody bush on corner of house is still too large. It would have helped if I was at home to communicate that to workers. Rest of work done looked good and they cleaned up after themselves very well. Estimator was on time and easy to communicate with.

Both projects which were 7 years apart when very well. They took care of any issues we had ( Minor) and were flexible to changes. Twice during the project we requested to change some things from the initial design, and they were accommodating. They truly took pride of their work from begging to end. They are competitive when it comes to price - but what you are getting with them is high end service.. That means it won't be inexpensive. But for us it worth very penny we spend.

They are not cheap and they are not expensive as well, they give good value. They are very professional and they have been in this business a long time. If they say that they are going to come at a certain date and time, they are here at that date and time. The owner comes to see how the job is going and keeps track of it. They are very responsive to anything we want. Even the younger crew members maintain a professional air. I would absolutely use them again in the future.
