Had an absolutely fantastic experience with Don's Electric. Don did a great job coming out and working with me to plan everything out. The new panel is exactly what I needed, and I'm super happy to have a generator plug-in now. They sent out a crew of two guys who knocked everything out in a few hours. I will definitely be recommending Don's to anyone in need of electrical help from here on out!

Don's Electric installed our Generac about 5 years ago. We, have since had them service it, and followed all the recommended service guidelines, and paid immediately upon completion. This year when they came to perform maintenance, they charged us for the service call, and noticed a gasket that had minor leaking, but recommended changing it this year, if possible. They, however, failed to have the gasket with them, or on hand. They asked if they could come the next week, and we said that would be fine. The next week they called to reschedule. When they did come out, they billed us $200 labor and $5 for the gasket. We talked to the biller and the owner's son, whom we were told now runs the business. Don, the son, took $25 off the labor fee. We felt that we were double dipped on labor. Had they had the gasket when they performed the maintenance, it would have been an additional $5. But since THEY failed to have it with them, and THEY failed to have it in stock, and THEY scheduled another trip to install it, we paid the hefty price of yet a double service call. We no longer recommend. Be careful what they bill you.

My communication with the company was good and went fast they understood what work should be done. I had them different three jobs should be done but one contractor only did the job and it was fast , He was friendly but in the end his work was not good all of it and it was Unprofessionally & Unsafe. They didn't also get a quote on the other work that I wanted to be done.
Description of Work: The Work was not done professionally the part of the electrical connections were not fixed and its possibly unsafe.

I am sending this most worthy commendation for Technician Team Lead Justin Ciaverella and his crew i.e. Jacob Boettcher and Ronnie Ciaverella. They installed a Generac Generator at my home on Monday, January 17, 2022. I am very pleased to report that these gentlemen were professional, knowledgeable, courteous and quite proficient in their work. The installation went well and the customer service they rendered could best be described as "exemplary"!! Whenever a matter that could require customer input arose, they discussed it thoroughly with my wife and I, explained the options available and once we made a decision as to what I preference was, they proceeded to implement our agreed upon course forthwith. I might add, that old Marines know a thing about duty and doing things right!! Don's Electric should shove these three in a Xerox Machine and make about ten copies of that Technician Crew (if such a thing were possible), your customer base would be exceedingly well served if it were possible. Please count the Stevenson's as patrons and know that Don's Electric is now our contractor of choice. Respectfully, Lee & Gail Stevenson

I regularly and highly recommend Don's Electric to anyone who is looking for top-notch electricians and outstanding people to work with. Don's Electric is a well-run company that provides superb service. The Gabbard family is the best! For example, last week we had a lengthy power outage, and (through no fault whatsoever of Don’s Electric) the engine in our back-up generator died, requiring replacement. With no replacement engine immediately available, Don's Electric was quick to the rescue; within a few hours, the Gabbards had installed a portable generator for use during the balance of the outage. (By the way, Don’s Electric previously replaced my outdated electrical service promptly, professionally, and at a very competitive price.) Thank you, Don's Electric!

I called Don and inquired about getting my RV Onan 4000 generator repaired. It would start then run a few minutes and shut down. Don ask a few questions and quickly guessed it to be a failing fuel pump. He said he had to the parts in stock and could come to my RV site and repair it the next morning.....THE NEXT MORNING ! ! Most of the places I called on my journey said they could repair it but it couldn't be dome for two weeks AND then if it needed parts I had to wait another two weeks. So Don, shows up and within 1.5 hours he had it running perfectly, including a full service on it to boot. Don is the MAN. You will not go wrong with Don's Generator Service.

To start- we had Jason come out for a quote. We had several items ranging from adding new outlets, to adding recessed lights in a few rooms, adding a 20 amp circuit, and various other items. Jason was great, and made everything seem like it was going to be seamless. A few weeks later (after a few other quotes), we decided to go with Don's. They were local, and comparable in price to the others (~$3500). Upon calling to move forward, we find out Jason wasn't with them anymore. Not enough to scare us off, so we proceeded. We were going to have the items completed over the course of three visits, at 4 hours each (2/11. 2/12, finishing on 2/15). The problems begin day one. The window was 12-1 show up time, and my wife calls at 1:15 to inquire where they are, and is told they will be there any minute. Finally showing at 1:45, claiming they had to go get their truck since the van they drove wasn't going to make it up the driveway. Apparently, there was supposed to be another person with him, but they 'threw their back out.' End of day one result: 2 outlets finished only- along with a request to shovel the end of a specific side of our two entry driveway- ok, annoying, but we obliged. We are unsure how you can work in a relatively rural area on the regular, and claim to not have trucks, when we drive by the Davisburg office every day, and there's at least one Silverado that has the same logos/info as all the other vehicles..... Leaving us feeling misled. Day two: They park fine, then take it upon themselves to use the other side of the driveway, and proceed to get stuck, and chew up part of the lawn. Upon being questioned, the response was, 'yea, we shouldn't have gone that way.' Mind you- it's not like we have a crazy Amazon adventure driveway, and there wasn't major snow. Day two result: 2 COMPLETED outlets, 1 partially finished outlet (cut too big, and left open- despite us having a 19-month old running around), 4 recessed lights installed (one of which doesn't work as it should), and a light switch (left open) that was cut too big. Day three (prior to snowstorm on Tuesday): No show at all for the 12-1 window(after claiming they intended on showing up early) . We receive a call at 12:45 claiming they couldn't make it up our driveway- which I questioned because there were no tracks indicating an attempt was made. Regardless, they wanted to reschedule to Saturday (today), but with the stipulation that we must have the driveway plowed- again, prior to the snowstorm. At this point, we have become frustrated due to the seemingly never ending problems. I spoke with the person at the office about our frustrations on Tuesday (2/16), we were told that the frustrations were something that needed to be discussed with the GM, and that he was unavailable at the moment, but would call us back. It is now Saturday, and here we are with no answers or anything. No calls, no nothing. So here we are holding the bag with incomplete work, and ready to just call somewhere else to FINISH the mediocre work that actually has been done, but to actually complete the rest of the work that was expected to be done (the biggest portion of course). Customer service is clearly an issue with these people. Issues are not swiftly taken care of, and it's certainly the customer's perception that THEY DO NOT CARE.

electrical install for a smart doorbell
Description of Work: I was called by Dons the morning I posted my work request. They said that they did my project all the time and would charge $175hr for labor plus parts. They were booked out a month so we agreed to wait patiently and go with Don’s. When the electrician showed up he stated he did not have the parts we needed and that we needed to get them. There was no outreach to tell us which parts we needed to provide prior to the appointment, or to see what we had since they did not have the generic parts on their truck (we already had a smart doorbell kit to install, we were missing some of the other generic components though). He left without doing the project and we never received a call back when we called to expedite a return visit. Don’s wasted a month of our time on a much needed project to get done.

I had the appointment scheduled for weeks and they called me the morning of to tell me that we were actually outside their service area and they weren't going to come do the work. I took the day off of work to be there and get this done. This is unacceptable.

Work looks good and was done in good time. My only gripe was they didn't tell me the LED's they were using had such a warm color, I prefer the color be 5000 or higher. It's a drop ceiling and they went out and got tiles that match well to the current ceiling and cut the new lights into them quite well.

Very poorly. I requested the quote on July 23 with the note that I wanted to have it installed within 30 days. First contact was that I could not even get a person out to quote the job until August 11. I accepted that and waited over 2-1/2 weeks, only to receive a call less than 2 hours before the person was supposed to arrive - and the call was to inform me that the person scheduled to assess the job for a quote was not qualified and it would be another week and a half before a qualified person could come out. I cancelled.

Jason came in and within a few minutes had identified the problem; fixed it within 15 minutes. He has a great personality and was willing to look at and give advice on a future project. Price was unbeatable! We will definitely call them first in the future!
