Helix Fence Company

It went badly. We ordered the fencing around September and the fencing didn't show up until December. There are was no communication from them unless I initiated it. Instead of being straight with us and saying it would take months, they took our down payment and siad nothing. When they did show up, they would leave early in the afternoon. The work was not finished until February. the cold weather prevented them from backfilling the post holes and frozen clumps of sol were left all over the lawn that I could not move until Spring. When they told me the job was completed, There was debris all over the yard in addition to the clumps of frozen soil. They threatened to sue me when I did not pay them within two weeks of finishing the job (even though it was clearly not done!). then a portion of the fence blew over in March due to wind, when the ground thawed (because the holes were not fully backfilled). Several of the other holes were loose and could be moved back and forth until I filled them with the soil. I reported them to the to The Attorney general's office. They told me that the fence was guaranteed for life. when a cracked showed up at the bottom of one of the posts, I contacted them to find out how I could replace the post, they never responded. DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE. They are untrustworthy, dishonest, and their work is sloppy.

First of all this is hard for me to bad review a business. Jerrid was very pleasant off the bat I had no problems with him. As soon as signing the contract he said my project would start at a certain date. 2 weeks past that date (no one called to update me what so ever) I, myself had to contact them and ask when it was to start. It took them 6 weeks to finish my job(them being there a total of about 10 days) there was on time they weren't there for over 2 weeks. They no showed the initial start day - never called to say they weren't coming. Then they showed up whenever they wanted. Communication was not great through this process at all. I had a t post pasture placed - they installed it backwards so my animal fencing has to be on the outside of the posts which is not correct. They did know it was for animals also. I had a riding arena install by them also- spacing is all over the place. Looks like a child laid it out. Some sections are 6'1" , 8'4", 7'5", ect. It looks terrible. On top of that adjacent sides have a different number of posts (one side has 8 posts corner to corner, adjacent side has 9 posts corner to corner). I had 2 spots where gates were going to be hung, one areas they left the wood posts 6 foot tall to hang a gate, the other area they cut the wood posts just under 4 ft so i wont be able to place a gate there. No one came out to look at the job site after completion, or to come see after my complaints. They have a lot of reasons and excuses for these problems which I am sure they will write a response to me below. They did offer to come and pull all the pasture fencing and turn them- I asked where will my horses go that live out there in the time being? They never answered that question (probably because they knew it cant be done unless I take them somewhere and have then boarded). Still waiting for that answer. They fight me on what I know is right and try to convince me that I am wrong with all theses issues. I would not recommend this company.

Despite trying to resolve issues for over a year with a job that was paid in full, we are still left with an unfinished project and damage to personal property caused by Helix Fence. We hired Helix Fence in 2019 for some long needed maintenance on a 2-rail split cedar fence with vinyl coated chain link fence and access gate to our backyard. In addition to the expected need to replace aged posts, recent storms had caused a tree to fall on a section of the fence causing damage. The owner was prompt and pleasant when coming out to assess our needs and provided us a proposal that we countersigned and provided the down payment for – not a small investment for us. Work started when indicated, however, during the work we raised a few concerns, most of which were addressed, some of which were indicated would need to be scheduled to be addressed. With our list of open items confirmed, we paid the balance in full, trusting items would be resolved. Although a few attempts were made in both 2019 and 2020 to resolve the items, we were left with an unfinished project and damage to our personal property. The owner declined multiple requests to review the project with us and was even unresponsive to the Better Business Bureau when we reached out to them for assistance in having the work completed.

Phenomenal! They did a fantastic job! Great communication, showed up on time, professional, and personable! We would definitely refer them and hire again!

The guys were very professional and very responsive. The fence turned out exactly how I wanted it. I wish I could add a photo to show how beautiful it is. I am beyond impressed by Helix Fence Company!
