Their report was very detailed and helpful.

Mr. Shelter drove 45 minutes to do a home inspection. He was on time (actually early) very personable, and thorough. He spent two hours combing over the dwelling from top to bottom highlighting potential problem areas (or my to-do list) on this 10yr old home. Very pleased and the price was reasonable, too. Reports are sent by email right to my inbox for future reference...love this feature!

Tom Shelters was excellent! He took the time to answer all my questions, checked over almost everything in the home I am buying that has been vacant for almost a year. I am an engineer so I ask lots of questions and arranged my own list of stuff to check on the inspection. I didn't feel like he was in a hurry to get it done but more concerned about msking sure I was satisfied with the inspection. He also sent over a report ss well. Definitely would hire him again if I was buying in the future.

He was there early and already had done some outside inspection. He was very friendly and informative and didn't mind that we followed him around everywhere. He tested all the appliances and the tub, checked how doors closed and smoke detectors locations. He discounted our price since there was no attic inspection and only a partial basement, which I thought was very nice and professional. He made sure all our questions were answered and let us know that we could call him if any questions came up, even months from now. He was very patient. What kept me from giving an excellent score was the formal report he provided. I may have been spoiled by my last home inspection 10 years ago. They provided me with a nice folder with detailed information plus some home maintenance information. The report from this was emailed to us and not very detailed.

Tom Shelters came and did a home inspection for my husband and me on a home we are hoping to purchase. We are first-time home buyers, so we are pretty clueless of this whole process. Tom arrived early and had finished much of the inspection by the time we arrived with our realtor. I really liked that Tom took time to explain what his processes are, and what different things mean. He was very thorough, doing a complete walk through with us even though he had already finished inspecting those parts of the house. He answered our questions honestly and patiently too. Tom said he has about 25 years experience with building homes and now uses his knowledge to help home owners make good decisions. He was very sincere and a very likeable, down to earth fellow. A couple days after the inspection we received our inspection report via e-mail in .pdf form which was nice. Tom promised us that his work didn't end with the inspection and he was right; when we got the bank appraisal done, some questions were raised about the property foundation and on the same morning I called Tom to ask him for more details, Tom went back out to the property, and by the end of the day had sent us the letter we needed to give to the bank. I feel like Tom went the extra mile here and provided outstanding customer service! His responses were always prompt and polite. I would highly recommend working with Tom!
