 + 0 moreMr. Sam Simko performed a cursory inspection of the hot water heater while a female member of the household was present. He opened a nearby tap and allowed the water to run momentarily. He looked under the water heater and cleared some dust. He informed the household representative that he could find nothing wrong with the water heater, remarked that it was old and asked for the $75 deductible check, which the household member provided to him. Mr. Simko did not check the dip tube (an obvious item to inspect in such situations). He did not perform a hot water volume test (allowing the water to run and assessing the temperature as the volume builds). A male member of the household later called Mr. Simko about the inspection and his diagnosis that he could find nothing wrong with the unit w/o performing the aforementioned tests. Mr. Simko immediately became defensive, agitated and hostile. He refused further discussion. Very unprofessional.
Description of Work: Sam's Plumbing Inc., also doing business as SIMCOR Construction, was assigned to assess a faulty water heater on our request to our home warranty company. The 40-gallon gas hot water heater was outputting approximately 10 gallons of hot water (with the temperature setting at near-maximum).
